UNWIND HOTEL & BAR OTARU

NIcely renovated hotel with an english vibe to it. Staff were friendly. We booked the loft room for family of 4 and it could easily sleep 6. There is apple TV with projector in the room and we could mirror it with our ipad. Room is comfortable and feels newly renovated. There is a family mart across the street and it is also within walking distance to Otaru canal and Sakaimachi Dori.

Space constraint means little space for our luggages for our family of 4. Otaru is a quiet town and most shops are close after 5-6pm. So there is no dinner options around the hotel. There is a restaurant in the hotel but we did not try it. We settled our dinner early at other places before heading back.

Beautifully classic hotel, one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in anywhere. Room is compact but well laid out with a seperate toilet from bathroom. Lovely bar area with complimentary Hokkaido wine being served in the early evening ensuring the bar was full. Breakfast in the morning was served as a high tea and reflected.  many of the staff spoke English and like everyone we met was super friendly. There is parking, but it is limited to 5 cars. We arrived an hour before our appointed chicken and secured a spot which was not available an hour later..

Nothing it is all superb. At the time of our stay there was no dinner served on the Monday or Tuesday evenings, but plenty of local options available. 

Love almost everything! Location is short walk to canal and the famous street. There's a Family Mart across from the hotel. There are only 5 parking lots at the back of hotel. After you parked, note the lot number you parked. Cos that will be your lot during your stay. Our room number was written on our lot later. Loved the free wine or drink at 5.30pm! Was a nice touch before we head out for dinner. mattresses were very comfy and all amenties provided. The shampoo, hair comdition and bath gel all great! Japanese pyjamas set were available at checkin, but keep them away nicely for next night! Cos not changed the next day

The upper level of the loft is very very low. More for kids. Our young adults had to crawl to their mattresses. But not a big issue. Had thought the sofa was a sofa bed, but it was not. There were 5 of us. So asked for a bedsheet to throw over the big sofa but none available.

We loved the free wine between 5 and 6:30pm. Beds were very comfortable. Nice decor throughout. Great location.

We had a Superior Twin Room. Toilet and bathroom are off a separate hall. Neither has a window (even though they're both on an outside wall) and both smelt mouldy. The room was overcrowded with two 3/4 width beds, a small L-shaped lounge, a coffee table and a fridge. There was very little room to put our suitcases.

Almost everything. The building and interior are beautiful, the room is comfortable with ambience lighting, the guest toilets are classy, the staff are friendly, the hallway carpet is fluffy, the bathroom amenities smell sooo nice that I buy a set for myself from the website.

They don't have green tea for breakfast. It sounds trivial, but I drink only green tea and this is my first time ever not being able to get one for breakfast in a hotel. I asked the staff but he said no they didn't have it.

Great location within walking distance to Otaru Canal. Very helpful staff, impressed with their willingness to go beyond their duty. They were polite and sincere. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel which really exceeded our expectations. Meals were superb and you can really see the effort they put to serve a good meal.

Beautiful art nouveau decor and housed in an old building, a short walk to the shopping street, breakfast, wine hour.

room was a bit dark, should have asked shared more about breakfast details as I had to request for change in food as we don’t eat ham and breakfast service had dishes with ham. No TV - used projection.

Very nice hotel, the staff are nice and communication with English is not a problem. Room is nice and clean! Our room comes with breakfast and dinner, both are fantastic! Location is good, 5mins walk to JR station and 2mins walk to Otaru canal. Will definitely return to stay again!!! =)

Everything is great!

Although it's quite expensive for me, the hotel and the staffs are so great. Especially wine service I love. The location was quite far from the subway station, but I love the place and atmosphere. Someday, if I come this place again, I'll definitely stay at this place.
