Cross Hotel Sapporo

The location was perfect - right near the train station in the heart of town. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The staff was very helpful. Breakfast was good and the onsen was lovely late at night.

The problem is with the architect who thought windows should be up behind the bed so you can't sit anywhere in the room and look at the view, and with the interior designer who decided the room would look more stylish if it didn’t contain a desk or any kind of work space. Do these people ever actually spend the night in the rooms they create.

The hotel locates close to Sapporo JR station (5mins on foot), very convenient for taking transportation or shopping. The room is cozy with style design. There are plenty of power supply outlets in the room, and a large Android TV for watching streamed contents. The breakfast is abundant and tasty. The public bath although a bit small is a must to try for relaxation, especially after an all-day walk. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Checkin and out were quick and smoothly. Overall the stay was an enjoyable and comfortable experience.

There is no space beside the washing basin. The space for large luggages is limited especially when they are opened.

Like the spaciousness of the room. Cleanliness-wise, it is acceptable for me, like an 8 out of a 10. Location-wise, it is very near to exit 5 and it is an exit with a lift available if you have luggage to bring to the hotel. Staff can speak English and are very helpful. Like the mineral water that was provided too. It seems like they will hold events at the lobby from time to time, I managed to take part in the Halloween event.

Hotel was not easy to spot for me at first, as the banner was not so visible, so had to rely on Google map after turning a few rounds.

The hotel was extremely clean and in a very convenient location. They also had a lot of toiletries to take in the lobby, so you don't have to ask for them at the front desk. The bath area isn't open until later, but it was very clean and had a great view.

I didn't realize that the bar is only available if you pay for a voucher or add it to your reservation ahead of time. I was hoping to sit down there and get some work done, but I wasn't allowed in. Also, when I went to enter the bar, the man at the front only told me that I wasn't allowed in since I didn't book it in advance. I had to pester him to find out about the voucher that you can pay for AFTER the booking if you want to enter the bar.

It's a city with super odd opening hours and difficult to navigate the underground walkways in winter

- odd opening hours of the restaurant e.g. lunch 11 - 1pm. - room was too hot and temp centrally controlled but they did bring us up a fan - shower was odd but we ended up showering in the onsen every day so that solved that.

Good location walking distance from JR station. Bed was comfy and room was a decent size for a single room in Japan, it was more of a double! Staff were nice but didn't help with luggage or anything so pretty no frills there. The rooftop onsen s cool, especially with the snow coming down in the outdoor pool. Unfortunately not too much of a view as the glass is all seamed up (outdoor one also has big glass wall). Ideal for a one night stay after skiing before flying out the next day. Is possible to walk most of the way to the hotel in underground tunnel

Reception is on the 2nd floor signage could've been better. Room was warm and even when I turned Aircon off it didn't cool down too much, Aircon was set to only be on heat mode and i couldn't find a way to switch it to cool. Wasn't unbearable. No help with luggage

Great location, clean and modern hotel. Hotel was nice enough to set up guard rails on the bed as we co-slept with our 2yr old. Room size is decent but not very big.

We drove a Camry rental, which they said was too big for the underground car lift. We therefore had to park a few blocks away in an underground carpark underneath an office building/cultural center - it was a 5min walk away. Worse though is that in order to get their advertised hotel parking rate, if you plan to stay/park at the hotel more than 1 night, you MUST drive out within 24hrs of parking and then repark every day. Otherwise the parking rate is much higher. Highly inconvenient. It took 10minutes for the staff to explain in English what exactly I needed to do. Onsen is quite small and there was a man who brought in a can of beer and brought his mobile phone while bathing, which are against the rules.

This is AHN who stayed for 2 nights from July 12th. I'm going to write down a complaint. I parked in the parking lot and came into the room as the parking agent told me that my car was damaged inside the parking tower. I heard the answer that the gear was placed between the parking gear and the reverse gear, so I moved in the parking lot. I couldn't explain it because I was Japanese at the time, but I wanted to ask you to see if you could put a gear lever between parking gear and reverse gear. It's impossible. So I paid an additional 20,000 yen for the rental price at my own expense. This unsavory thing wouldn't have happened if the parking attendant had told me to turn on the side brake because the car could shake.

The hotel is a very easy walk from the station, you can even see the hotel name at the top of the building when you come out of the east gate of the station. The hotel has a self check in procedure but the young & helpful concierge went through this with us (we have no Japanese language skills!) and walked us to the lift. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and we enjoyed using the onsen. The TV in the room can give you updates on whether the onsen is crowded or not, which is a nice touch. We enjoyed a great stay here, central for sightseeing, public transport, food and the hotel was spotless. We are staying here again in a week's time after travelling around Hokkaido so when we say "I would stay here again", we really mean it. We are already looking forward to our second stay next week. On-site onsen on the 18th floor with great city views! We had a family room & twins slept on sofabed. Most sofabeds tend to be saggy or lumpy, but at Cross hotel, they were firm & comfortable. We stayed 2 nights. A big thank you to the cleaners who tidied our room. Arigato gozaimasu. Looking forward to staying here again when we visit Sapporo.

Central air conditioner… means no thermostat in the room. Our room on 14th floor was a tad warm for us but it was a trade off for views & street noise. We were comfortable enough.
