Hotel La Ceiba

Beautiful grounds. Comfortable bed. Clean room with good hot water in the shower. The pool was nice but cold and we enjoyed sitting by it. There was parking in the small lot across the street. Staff was friendly and helpful at check in and they were kind about letting us check out at 1 p.m. when we ended up having to wait until after 10:30 for our boat ride through the Sumidero Canyon. Note that the restaurant closes at 3 p.m. and most of the restaurants in town close at 6 so be prepared to eat early.

I really like the entire look of the hotel felt like you were in the middle of the Jungle even though you weren't honestly love the water pressure and the hot water in the shower. Its in a good location

Really wasn't much we didn't like other than the ants tiny little sugar ants because we had left some things on the entrance table but once my husband pulled the table away they weren't able to get on there again we are in the middle of the Jungle sort of hotel has tons of plants everywhere oh and the reasons why they have the little tiny ants tiny tiny

Hotel La Ceiba has a beautiful lush garden and a nice swimming pool (in the shade). Our room was spacious and clean and the air conditioning was great to have. Staff was very friendly and could book the canyon tour for us. Restaurant serves breakfast but did not serve lunch or dinner when we were there. It is close to the main plaza.

Shower could have been warmer and it would be nice to have more loungers/sunbeds at the pool.

Loved the grounds. Gardens and pool made the stay worthwhile. Quiet room in a quiet corner. The flowering bushes and spectacular trees were just wonderful. Spent most of my time in the pool. Met the owner who is a very pleasant gentleman who made our stay worthwhile along with his dedicated and friendly staff. I have been staying here every time time I vacation in Chiapas for the last 28 years. Highly recommend it despite its shortcoming in the facilities department.

Bed mattresses were too hard. Bathroom too small, sink too small, water pressure too low, fixtures too old. Shower needed curtain. Water all over the place. T.V. too small in a very uncomfortable place to enjoy watching. Coaxial cable kept coming off the T.V. Very poorly installed and placed in the room. Needed a small table and another chair to enjoy a bite or write a postcard.

The pool is wonderful and open from 8.00 am to 9.00 pm. The restaurant has excellent food. The garden is beautiful and well done up. I found a very nice place to stay with a baby.

There is no bar to have a drink in the evening. It's a big advantage as the place keeps quiet but also I would have love a glass of wine in the evening.

Staff not super welcoming; not very talkative to give information about cañon del sumidero.. they finally offered to book the tour for us.. but wanted to make our 1 year old baby pay full price - complete non sense as children pay the park from 6 y.o..

Convenient location for what Chiapa de Corzo has to offer. 5 minute walk to the main square and/or waterfront for the Sumidero Canyon. Restaurant open for breakfast and an early lunch only. Front desk was able to book the Canyon tour, on-site massage and then our onward transportation to San Cristobal; all at the same rates as we saw in town or at the docks Rooms basic but very clean. AC worked well. Hot water worked well in the morning and the evening but appeared to be turned back/off in the afternoons. Grounds very attractive. No complaints at all and great value for money.

The plants and trees and singing birds really made my stay exceptional. The property is well maintained and you can tell they really love their flora. At night you can hear the crickets and cicadas, and if you're lucky the rain as well. I loved the view from my room on the third floor. The restaurant is also very delicious, i would highly recommend it.

Truly beatiful tropical garden, we loved it. Close to town centre.

I do not know why we got the worst rooms (corner of the ground floor with a small backyard "view"). However after request, we were offered room with a better view. AC had some issues, but these were fixed. Wifi did not work in one of the rooms.
