Hotel Chablis Palenque

Hotel Chablis was an added value for us on our trip through Mexico. Perhaps the neighborhood is not so quiet in general, but due to the prevailing Covid measures it was now very quiet. We were very well received, received a welcome drink and immediately had the keys to the rooms. The staff is very friendly and ready to solve problems and give advice. The swimming pool, not overly large, is of course a great asset, but so is the terrace around it. Although there are restaurants nearby, the hotel restaurant has a very good menu. The breakfast was also adequate, tasty and with quick service.

Despite the excellent service in the restaurant, it is striking that the staff is after a high tip. Tips should be there but it is annoying when you have the impression that these are 'claimed'...

The most amazing stay during our whole time in Mexico (3 nights in total). The staff in the entire hotel is absolutely incredible, starting from the welcome desk, through the restaurant employees as well as the cleaning team. They were the nicest and most helpful in every situation we encountered. On top of this, they all really seemed to have fun during their time at work, which was great! We were offered an 8 hours early check-in, support to call a doctor / hospital during my partner's illness and help with booking an additional night and rescheduling buses when we were forced to stay longer than planned. Both our room and the entire hotel were impressively clean, which was not easy to maintain during the rainy period. Wi-Fi works great, there is hot water with great water pressure, rooms have AC & mosquito/bug nets. Very quiet. The hotel area is in the town centre, 5 minutes away from the ADO terminal, 7 min away from bigger markets, surrounded by restaurants. There is a possibility to book tours with a local company on arrival(*it would be great if there was a possibility to spend more than 3.5 hours in the Palenque Arch. Site for history freaks:). There was an ongoing pool renovation during our stay, which we didn't know about upfront, but there was access to the neighbouring hotel pool.

Nice pool. Good size room. Good AC. Clean. Hot shower.

We asked for an early check-in as we came on the overnight bus. We booked 2 rooms and asked if we could possibly have one early. We were finally given a room at 1.30 pm. Nearly all the guests checked out before 9 am and the hotel was almost empty. I just think they could have tried harder. We also paid 50% of a full night to have a late 6 pm check out. I know we weren't entitled to anything but with a near empty hotel a little goodwill would go a long way.

The staff was outstanding - very helpful and friendly. The restaurant was good - great desayuno americano (American breakfast) which includes a fruit plate. For lunch, try the chicken in mole (sauce) There were other restaurants within walking distance, but none that I tried were as good as the one in the hotel. Having a safe in the room is always helpful.

It would have been nice to have something to boil water for early morning coffee. Palenque has become a sprawl so I'm not sure that there is a "good location" to be found. People go there for the Mayan sites and waterfalls nearby, aside from which there is little to see or do in the area.

That was the best hot shower I've had in 8 months of being in Mexico, with lots of hot water and good water pressure. The bed was super comfortable. The location amazing, Centro but tucked away on the off street with hotels and restaurants where it's quiet with lots of trees and sounds of monkeys and birds. The balcony off the bedroom into the center square was lovely. The pool lounge area with water fall feature very relaxing.

The wifi was very weak. Didn't seem to work much from the room or the balcony off the room. Maybe just a bad day.

it was nicely laid out in a very posh looking boulevard. it was convenient to have a restaurant at the hotel, although I usually ate at a restaurant in the square only a 10 minute walk from the place. I even had a monkey come into my room when I left the door open , how awesome. The room I had was on the third floor, with high ceilings. when I opened both doors (entry and balcony) and used the ceiling fan, the temperature was perfect. The pool was kept very clean, serviced daily. The staff were very friendly and even provided me ice for my day trips.

This hotel is in one of the best locations in Palenque (La Cañada) with lots of restaurants nearby, trees and quietness, yet just a short walk from the main center of town. The staff are friendly, rooms and hotel very clean, there's a pool and all other general amenities including wifi, TV, and a restaurant on premises that can serve you in the pool area.

There isn't much to not like about the Hotel Chablis - it's one of the best in Palenque and I regularly recommend or reserve it for guests that I bring here. The price is on the higher end but it's well worth the quality that you get.

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Chablis, in August 2023. Lovely, large room with balcony, impeccably clean (cleaned everyday), friendly, helpful service, and lovely pool. My family (me and my children aged 15 and aged 12) had a lovely time and would go back again. Good location, close to ADO bus station and other restaurants and cafes.

The property is perfectly situated on a quiet stone street with bars and restaurants all around. A grocery store and all other necessities are nearby too. The interior courtyard has a nice pool and seating with sun and shaded areas. We checked in at midnight and the staff and security were alert and very welcoming. My wife also had a headache due to our long delayed travels reaching Palenque and the staff let us check out late so she could rest a bit more. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. There was hot water and working AC. While the hotel is downtown, we didn’t hear much noise or traffic at night. We only stayed one night due to an overbooking situation at our other Palenque accommodation but wish we had a few more nights at Hotel Chablis. Definitely seemed like a good value for the price. We would highly recommend it.

The AC unit in room 205 was loud but we sleep with earplugs so it didn’t bother us. It should be fixed for other guests.

The hotel is small but really well-kept. It was clean, wonderfully situated and has great amenities for a small hotel. Wonderful pool that has a lot of shade, pool side service, a nice restaurant, and very friendly staff. The room we stayed in was not fancy but it had everything we needed (including wi-fi and tv), it was very clean, had air conditioning, and was quiet.
