Villa Ganz Boutique Hotel

This is a wonderful hotel for a stay in Guadalajara. It is incredibly peaceful and relaxed and the staff are lovely people. The building and rooms are full of character and the garden is like an oasis in the city. They have lovely touches like complimentary wine and a piano. Breakfast was superb and served al fresco in the garden The location is brilliant and within walking distance to a host of wonderful restaurants and it's in an incredibly safe neighbourhood and it even comes with a resident cat.

There was nothing about this hotel that we didn't like.

Location was excellent, many restaurants at walking distance. Chapultepec street is just 4 blocks from hotel and is a very vibrant area, specially for the weekend bazaar. The reception employees were very friendly and helpful. The dinning area is small, but very charming.

It’s an old house converted into a small hotel. My husband and my daughter loved it, but I tend to prefer more modern rooms.

This boutique hotel was an experience! It’s not just hotel that it’s super nice and unique, but people working there it’s on another lever of service! Since this hotel have not so many rooms, you get time and extraordinary service of their stuff- especially Paulina and Armando! They made me and my fiancée feel so home and I got so many tips of what to do, what to eat of local food, made sure we try Mexican Tamales 🫔 (got it for breakfast) + even after talking about rest of our trip i Mexico I got e-Mail of what to do and who to contact to get unique rest of your trip. I would not change for any other hotel. Plus order their “special dinner experience”. It’s like Mexican fusion and has 5.0 on TripAdvisor !!! Food was on the scale from 1 to 10 is 10! PS. Since I worked in service for 10years and I am very impressed with this hotel. I barley never write reviews but I could not help myself.

Beautiful building, large and comfortable room, wonderful service from staff, and an excellent breakfast to top it all off. Courtyard is gorgeous, the inside of the building is tastefully decorated in old colonial fashion. Check-in was a breeze with a concierge who spoke very good English, which was helpful considering my gringo ear. He also carried in the luggage without us even asking, which was definitely appreciated.

There are only two things that I can think of as negative during our stay. The first was that the room had a distinctly humid smell and feel to the air that made it seem tropical. This was never outright unpleasant, but it was present. The second was the firmness of the bed. My wife and I are very used to our nice, cushy Purple mattress back in the states, so this is probably just a personal preference.

The breakfast is served in a charming and well curated garden The quality of the food is excellent. The staff very attentive and kind.

I would have liked more toiletries in the bathroom. They are kept at a basic level, and it is in contrast with the otherwise meticulous attention of the details in the room and in the hotel overall.

The charm of the hotel and the wonderful and caring staff. Breakfast could have been better and should have been included in price. Overly very nice experience. Noise issue was due to music at next door restaurant that went till midnight. It was quiet after that.

I loved every aspect of this property. as soon as you step in you are encapsulated by the beautiful architecture. the amazing staff at the front opened the door for us, carried our bags, and offered us a beverage. I truly felt like royalty. The room was so clean and comfortable temperature. the staff at this hotel really goes above and beyond. also make sure to check out the garden outside, it is so romantic and peaceful!

Exceeded our expectations. Beautiful property, great location. Felt perfectly safe walking to dinner. Staff took care of everything from prearrival arrangement of a driver/interpreter for 2 days of business meetings and tours, to coffee, and anything else we needed. Honestly one of the best experiences we’ve ever had in a hotel/inn. Property and room were stunning. Only left because we had meetings, otherwise I may have never left the property. We were there on business, perfect place for business or personal. We will be back.

I found the hotel on Booking.com. Upon seeing the rooms and one of them includes a hammock, I booked it right away. We didn’t get that room (with a hammock)but we had a room that has a private patio and a vaulted ceiling. Our stay at Villa Ganz was wonderful from our first to the last day. The staff Carolina, Christopher, Armando and Sally were all welcoming. We enjoyed relaxing in El Jardin especially with Armando’s gengibre margarita. We wished we could have had more. The hotel is clean. The location is great, in a quiet neighborhood close to many restaurants. We felt safe walking around at night. Our stay was short but hopefully we’ll be back someday at Villa Ganz and maybe book room 15. 😊 . I will recommend this hotel to my friends. Bed comfortable, but PLEASE get rid of the platform design! Its a gauranteed shin biter! Enjoyed the TV, LOVED the garden seating near our room; Shower good. Linens good.

The restaurant hospitality needs to be changed. Coffee was terrible- full of grounds...finally my husband tried to show the boy doing the coffee that he needed to change the filter occasionally & was ignored; it was the same our whole stay. Breakfast staff did not greet you or even look at you; we asked other guests about the food & decided not to even try. The property itself does not deserve to have its star rating reduced because of them, but good food/bar hospitality is expected for this level of property & price.
