Hotel Escondido, Puerto Escondido, a Member of Design Hotels - Adults Only

can’t do better than this hotel. right on the beach, beautifully designed, great food, wonderful staff.

we stayed here a few years ago and it was about 2/3 or 1/2 the price it is now. post covid everything is more expensive, but it’s starting to get to that point where it’s just a bit *too* expensive to justify.

Beautiful setting by the beach and SO tranquil. Great sunsets in particular. The bungalow was tasteful and very clean. We even had a small private pool outside our room. Delicious food for dinner included with the room. The staff were all hugely attentive and accommodating.

The location of the hotel is very remote! Great for relaxation but a bit limiting after a while as you are 45-50 mins from Puerto Escondido and there is nothing in the vicinity. We stayed closer to Puerto Escondido afterwards which was a welcome contrast. The included breakfast was very simple - just cereal, fruit and yoghurt which was nice but not extravagant.

Oceanfront secluded private paradise. We never wanted to leave Hotel Escondido. The ocean felt like it was entirely ours. The sunsets and views were tremendous. The decor is laid back and modern, but yet welcoming and cozy. I could’ve spent hours watching the marine life jumping out of the water while endlessly observing the waves rolling in and out and listening to the crush of the waves. The pool is deceptively big and perfectly situated to soak in the ocean view. The staff are very attentive and there to assist with your every need. They were happy to assist with tours, reservations and taxi service. The food was fantastic, there are endless delicious options. The rooms are a good size and you have the option to slide the doors open for views of the mountains and the ocean. The landscape and location of Hotel Escondido is so inspiring. Would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.

This place is paradise and I want to go again soon. The food and the ambience of the hotel is just perfect.

The lack of maintenance in the rooms and. bicycles. Also, the beach service really sucks. And then there is this change of shifts by which you need to pay all your bills and then open a new one with the new waiter, it doesn't make any sense at all! Maybe the owners are too busy with the opening of Terrestre!

The location was great, especially if you're looking for remote. The staff was very kind and helpful. The pool is amazing, the beach looks amazing and it's not crowded at all. So a great getaway from the world and busy tourism. Which was what we needed. The food in the bar was well made and tasteful. But the Japanese restaurant Omakase nearby especially was an amazing surprise.

The room's we very good but quite hot. Airconditioning only worked a little bit and temperature was not easy to get down. The road to the hotel is extremely bumpy and when in a taxi you feel sorry for the drivers that the road is so full of deep holes that it's damaging their car. It's charming that it's 'hard to reach' but I'm not sure if that is worth this type of effort.

The feeling of being in the middle of nowhere but still being in a luxury hotel is incredible. Everything is so unique, from the rooms to the private patios, and the incredible common areas. The customer service is amazing, everyone is so accommodating. The food is really good and they have a full bar, I never had a problem ordering a cocktail and them telling me they don't have it.

Only thing that could be improved is the AC situation in the room. It gets very hot and humid in Puerto Escondido and the bungalow is not completely sealed from the outside so it never gets cold in the room even with the AC on.

Secluded location, calm atmosphere, big rooms to relax & disconnect from reality.

Breakfast should really be free, for 500 euros a night... Even the hot dishes should be free, Eggs aren't that expensive.. Other point was the road leading up to the hotel. It was being repaired as we were leaving but it took us 20 minutes from the highway each time, jumping up and down in the car.

Loved the design and interiors. Loved the incredible lap pool. Loved the beach.

The check-in process took a long time and there was confusion about payments taken.

Everything has a plus so it would have been great to have more hospitality or free amenities after arriving the hotel and pay that much x night.
