Really cute hotel in Puerto. Nice pool area and gardens. The rooms are comfortable if a little dated. Its in a good spot between the smaller beaches of angelito and carizilillo and the main surf beach. Very close to the main bus station.

There was a big group of families staying there who treated the hotel as if it was their own personal holiday home. They were really noisy at night drinking in the pool area and until late with screaming kids. We had to ask hotel staff to tell them to be quiet, which they did. But its the sort of thing I'd expect a hotel to manage in the first place.

Very nice place with fun attention to detail. Authentic Mexican vibe with a artistic newer spin. Old enough to have good character but new enough to offer modern conveniences. The suite was very large. The beds were firm. The AC worked well following some experimenting(in my room the trick was to put on automatic) the view was amazing and the location was good. The area was not super quiet but in my room it was by design. Close walking distance to a large mega mart and a cool town near a marina with nice stores and many good restaurants. Great organic food store nearby. There was a nice kitchenette on the third floor which was cool. Tough for those with limited mobility because it had many stairs. Not easy to find negatives. Good parking. The shower was hot option if that matters to you(trick with that was to let it run a bit) If in Puerto Escondido I recommend you give it a go. Thanks to the staff who was great.

Can't think of anything worth mentioning besides the few minor temporary hiccups in previous paragraph. It is not new and due to the built in special details it is probably a lot to upkeep. Do not expect perfection but do expect lodging with heart and the hard work to keep it that way.

The hotel was centrally located. It was only about a 5 minute walk from the bus station. Playa Principal was about 5 minutes away. Playa Zicatela was about a 30 minute walk and Puerto Angelito/Playa Manzanillo was about 20 minutes. Of course there are also many taxis that will take you to these places also. There are also many restaurants nearby and also an Oxxo convenience store. The pool area is quite nice and the rooms may be a little dated, but they are large enough with two beds, AC, an outside terrace or balcony and good water pressure in the shower. The property is maintained well and everything is kept clean. The staff is very nice and helpful.

The hotel is a work of art! I loved the fact that almost every niche and surface — even the shower wall — has been adorned with painted images, friezes, sculptures, stained glass, decorative tiles, and so on. It is beautiful and joyfully whimsical. We stayed two nights in different rooms, a regular second-floor room and the grand "master suite" on the top floor. Both had good views of the town and ocean, and both were very quiet due to the hotel's unusual location away from streets with car traffic (the "street" is a wide pedestrian staircase on the side of the hotel). The reception staff were welcoming and very helpful.

I'm rating the hotel at 9 instead of 10 because the wifi was quite poor in both rooms, and the regular room was missing a chair (other rooms had them). These were minor inconveniences, however, greatly compensated for by the wonderful location, views, and sense of artistry and loving care reflected in the rooms, common areas and garden.

The view was amazing and the check-in was easy. Even though the workers didn't speak very much English (and us, Spanish), they helped us greatly. The rooms were very pretty with really good A/C. The location was probably the best spot in Person Escondido. It was near every single beach and easy to get around on a scooter.

The only complaint that I would have is that the room service didn't clean our room for the whole stay and the shower was dirty from the last people's hair and old soap. Hopefully that was a one time occurrence because I'd like to stay here again.

The owner and his daughter were simply amazing. My credit card got cloned and the owner was amazing, lending me money otherwise I would have been stranded! My son got sick and Francesca made us meals of our choice. She held a hot dog night for the families with kids, picked my up from the supermarket. An amazing family and place and they treat you like family. Pool was fantastic, super chilled place and great to go with kids.

The size of the room (we had a suite) was exceptional, complete with view of the ocean, albeit at a distance. The outside balcony was a bonus. The staff were pleasant and efficient. When we asked for a scale so that we could weigh our suitcases, one was quickly found. Pleasant grounds with plants and greenery around the pool. Very quiet.

It was a long haul to carry suitcases up to the fourth floor. Note to self - pack lighter next time! Not the best area of town but easy to get cabs. No coffee or breakfast spot close by.

The hotel is close to the beaches and many cheap local food options. The staff at reception was extremely helpful and hooked us up with tours to the turtle hatchery and to witness bioluminescence in the mangroves with no advance notice.

While the hotel advertises its free WiFi, the connection in our room was almost non-existent. We also had a very weak phone signal in the room. The owner seems to be aware of this problem and blamed it on their service provider. While this is understandable, they're still advertising free WiFi as one of their primary attractions, which is unrealistic.

The architecture and decoration of the building is wonderfully charming and interesting. The beds were comfortable and the balcony had a great view of the town and ocean in the distance.

For better or worse it can be very family oriented. The day we arrived there was a big pool party with a ton of kids celebrating a birthday. We though it was great but I could see someone looking for a quiet romantic getaway being a little put off : ) Only other downside was we had our room cleaned and they didn't give us any fresh towels.

The hotel has a beautiful location, really nice pool, and great rooms! The pool and A/C were a necessity in the August heat. Within very easy walking distance to great restaurants and local beaches.

The kitchens are only available for suites. Unfortunately the restaurant and bar were closed during our stay.
