Hotel Maalob Che Bacalar by Rotamundos

Overall we liked everything. The location is not that bad as people write if you have a car or bike and you are not lazy it is so easy to get around Bacalar plus it is a quiet zone. Grace at the reception is very helpful and amazing human being, she was super nice to us and helped us with everything. We loved the garden and hamacas so we could enjoy our breakfast there. Rooms are clean and the room service was great and kept our room tidy.

Try to get wifi even inside each rooms not just in the outside area. Also try to provide guests with a bottle of water in the room, everybody will appreciate it after they arrival.

Nice and pretty quiet location, funny neighborhood goats sounds in the morning. Love the garden! The food off the main road close to the hotel is actually very delicious and better than some of the restaurants in the main square. I enjoyed walking around and exploring the local neighborhood in this area, very charming.

I wish the rooms had an electric kettle. It would have been nice to make coffee in the morning and maybe some chairs outside the rooms on the top floor to enjoy the garden view.

Staff were very friendly especially the manager Gris who went out of her way to help us, even taking us to the local pharmacy to buy rehydration drinks for our son. Garden is very nice and room and beds large and comfortable. Good air conditioning.

Location means you need to call a taxi to go anywhere.

I love the staff, they were so sweet and helpfull. and the room was really clean and spacious and got cleaned every day. the shower was also very good.

I loved everything, it is just a bit further from the centrum but you can rent a bike for 100 pesos a day so that is okay so you wil be in the center in like 5 minutes with the bike

The room was BIG, clean, and comfortable! The staff was amazing! We even changed our plans and came back again for another stay here :) It is close to the ADO bus stop, so a great location if your taking the bus in or out of the city. About a 15 min walk to the lagoon.

Spacious room, good airco, calm.

It’s a really simple hotel so it doesn’t have a lot of ‘soul’ in my opinion, but I was exactly looking for a calm and spacious room so was perfect for me!

Clean and spacious room. I enjoyed the hammock in the garden.

It‘s around 20 min walking to the town center and some of the streets are rather dark at night - just something to be aware of. We did not feel unsafe though.

Place is the nicest I have enjoyed in the past 3 months, tons of space, nice and new/renovated, private bathroom, TV w cable. Great local eateries withing short walking distance, under 2 blocks back to main road. I would definitely stay again, extend or return!

A bit on the outskirts, not right downtown or a bit of walk to grocery store. But I was looking for quite and okay not being right downtown, saving the money for funner memories.

Extremely clean, quiet, great front desk personnel Grey is very personable with good energy and gives you lots of tips. good wifi. About 4 blocks from bus terminals.

You probably need to take a taxi to go downtown and to Calle 1 by the Bacalar Lagoon. I walked the first day but the heat is a big problem if you go in April as I did. Taxis are MN$35 Or less than US$2,00

Everything was perfect! Grace and her Team were fantastic hosts! water was hot and the room was very clean. It was easy to walk into the Center of Bacalar. Highly recommend this Hotel!
