Hotel Hacienda Mérida

An absolutely beautiful historical building in a perfect location. The room was very spacious and comfortable and very clean

We were surprised at the lack of a fridge in the room and the pools did not look inviting due to the layer of insects & debris always on the surface of the water. The catering at the hotel was quite limited although the location is close to shops and restaurants so this wasn’t too much of an issue. The condition of the outdoor areas did not do justice to the beautiful building - everything around the pool was a bit tatty and grubby.

Gorgeous hacienda type hotel right in the centre of Merida. Such a lovely welcome from the owners - very helpful with local information, restaurant recommendations things to do etc. Such a pleasant courtyard/pool area to relax in (also a second! pool for lounging by). Nice bar in the hotel and generally a pleasing place to wander around. The room was nice- four poster bed was big and comfortable. The air con seemed a bit underperforming though but there was also a ceiling fan so we were comfortable. Parking (free) is just around the corner, the very helpful owner will go with you to find it which was great.

The place is beautiful, the swimming pools are amazing. The location is perfect also, near the center.

Breakfast is not included and only start at 7h30 am knowung that all the Mayan ruins opens at 8am with traffic and queue, it is a bit sad it's not earlier. Our room was nice but the bed really hard. The air conditioning had put the wall with mold and needed to be dryed up and cleaned. The bathroom was nice with good pressure but the door was loud and needed to be closed because of the insects. Overall its nice but not as nice as we thought. We asked them to book a restaurant for a birthday, that was a disaster. The parking is 250m from the hotel. Not terrible but not practical. You have to ask for someone to open it in the morning...

My stay was for a week, and I was upgraded to a suite on the VIP side for reasons unknown to me. No complaints. Spacious, and comfortable room with an amazing shower and great A/C (very important in Mérida in July). The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, and also very patient with my rudimentary Spanish skills. Breakfast each morning was a delight down by the pool. The colonial style of the place is unlike anything back in The States. The location is ideal for being in El Centro. Really good food everywhere and plenty of ways for people who like touristy stuff to spend money for whatever reasons people have for doing such things.

This isn’t something I necessarily disliked but it is worth being aware of. Be advised that if not on the ground floor you will need to climb stairs.

The breakfast was wonderful! And Jesus was so great. Lucia and Armando were great front staff. I felt like family being on this property. And they were very patient with me practicing my Spanish and using my translation app.

Consider removing the wrought iron fixtures in the rooms. I was injured when I scraped my leg on the towel rack at the sink. I had the staff get me first aid products and requested a new room. The owner was apologetic. The new room was great EXCEPT the hardware on the bathroom door was more rusty wrought iron. I inder from a decor perspective, but safety should come before that.

This is a very nice, affordable hotel. Nice rooms, several swimming pools, friendly staff. Central location in the city.

Street noise / music from the neighbours is rather disturbing, which is unfortunate because the hotel, pool area and courtyard are really inviting for a break between or after visits. We had a hard time finding a table for breakfast; one staff member invited us to take a table in the so-called VIP area of the hotel and another one wanted to get rid of us there.

The hotel location was amazing and the room was decorated nicely and was clean. The bathroom was also nice with a large shower. The host was very welcoming and pleasant. He greeted us with a fresh beverage upon arrival which was a pleasant surprise. The parking was down the street and around the corner so not very convenient with luggage but it was free and felt safe.

The parking situation wasn't onsite.

Everything was fantastic from the moment we arrived with staff greeting us on the doorstep at midnight to opening up early for us at 6am when we eft. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The rooms were spacious, the bed and shower luxurious and the pool clean and cool. The location was perfect and over all it was surprisingly quiet as all the rooms are set back from the busy street. A great 3 night stay.

Beautiful house , decorated with taste . The bedroom and bathroom are large and modern with a huge and very comfortable bed. The staff was extremely friendly, polite and helpful and made the reservations we needed. There is a free convenient parking. And a lovely pool.

We were staying at the back and the room is dark.

Very pretty hotel with lots of private areas, 3 swimming pools and lovely staff. Location is perfect 3 blocks from the Socalo. Private car park nearby. We were upgraded to a room with a huge terrace with hammocks and great views. Will definitely come back.

If I have to find something: the breakfast menu is a bit short.
