Hotel Santa María Mérida

Clean room and comfortable bed. Location is perfect. Two bottles of water in the morning per day. We did not use the swimming pool, but it was cleaned every day.

Water pressure in the shower was very poor. There was hot water but we could not regulate it, it was super hot!

The receptionists were very kind to let us check in early as our room was already prepared. The inner courtyard is beautifully arranged with greenery, many seating options as well as a small pool. We spent our evenings there, as the wifi was working best there. The hotel is located in a really safe and central area. You will find parks, grocery stores, bars, restaurants, etc nearby. Everything is within walking distance. The main Bus Terminal (Ado buses) is about 2km away, and as we had to catch the bus early in the morning, a very helpful receptionist called a taxi for us. The room was quite spacious, with enough storage room for two people, who don't want to live out of their suitcases (a big dresser as well as a big built-in wardrobe). Nice big shower, with okay water pressure and warm water. I would definitely recommend staying in this hotel.

Only two things: The floors in the room were not really clean. It seems like they could use a good mopping as well as vacuuming (hair and dustballs in the corners and on the floor in general). Also, there is an issue with the water spilling out of the shower, and flooding the whole bathroom (I asked a housekeeper for an additional towel to put on the floor and that helped). Would be good to leave a floor towel for guests in the bathroom, so that they can use it right away.

so close to town, super duper clean and the staff is so accommodating

my room didn’t have a view, it was to the wall of the staircase and door had gaps so all noice from neighbours and cleaning staff was very loud

The location is perfect, Many nice places around and great restaurants. Staff was very friendly.

The pool is VERY small, nothing like the pictures. No sockets in the rooms, except in the bathroom wich made it a bit uncomfortable to charge phones. The AC is bit old and was a bit noisy, so we did not use it much.

- We had booked for 7 days and hence Initially we were a bit sceptical as there are a few things that are non negotiable especially when it comes to safety, hygiene and cleanliness. - Bed spreads and blankets etc were a bit dated but were clean enough. Would be futile to expect Ritz level cleanliness but good value for money. At the end we get what we pay for in this case it was better than good! - Attentive staff, reception ready to answer questions. - Clean and the basics were right - Location was great, 5-10 mins walking from almost all major things

- Basic cutlery in room - Only two sockets and none were close to the bed: gets inconvenient. Like what others mentioned one socket was for the TV so had to turn it off while charging phone

Really beautiful place in a great location. We stayed in another hotel before, and this was just so much better. Great breakfast joint 2 blocks away (Soco), great lunch and dinner just across the street or on the square a block out. Good place to stay and discover Merida from. The room was fine, cold water shower when we were there, nothing very special. The decor is lovely, and our kid loved the pool.

The parking situation is not ideal, there are a few spots in front. Otherwise, you have to park around the corner. Still, minor detail, the parking was private, and we could access our car at any moment.

Hotel Santa Maria Merida is the perfect place to stay while visiting Merida. Conveniently located near the main plaza and just two blocks from Plaza Santa Lucía. Restaurants, shops, and churches are all around. The staff are welcoming and helpful and always offer a smile. Veronica helped to plan an excursion to Mayapan to see the ruins and to Santa Barbara to experience the cenotes. It was a great day trip! The room I had was on the 4th floor with a great view. Nice to see the sun rise in the mornings. Right next door to the hotel is a small eatery - very convenient and with good food and fabulous ‘agua del dia’ drinks.

staff very very kind and helpful, they were available for any request of ours at any time of the day. the whole property gives a nice vibe with its infrastructure, the swimming pool is a great addition for cooling down when it gets crazy hot. the rooms were of ok size, beds very comfortable. the breakfast is served in a small room that can be easy to miss, but make sure to have breakfast here because the food was good and pretty pretty cheap.

the internet was not really functional in our room, which made us be around the lobby in the moments when we wanted to be connected. the shower and the toilet were not functioning, but the staff took care of that as soon as we notified them.

Very very friendly receptionist, especially the Young lady we were primarily in contact with. Clean rooms, Nice ambience of the hotel and pool area, Quite OK location, walking distance to the center, Our adapter for european electricity socket didnt work, they happily provided us with extension cable that worked. EDIT - as someone mentioned, there were not many electricity sockets. This is something the hotel could work on. For us the extension cord fixed our issues :) Would stay again.

Basically all was good, just some remarks someone might mind - we didnt mind much: Pool was quite close to the street, from photos we didnt notice that, but anyway it was nice to chill there. There were some construction works taking place which wasnt really pleasant. Happened only one day though i think. Parking was not directly at the hotel, was 1 street away, someone from staff always had to go with us. Not a huge deal but we didnt expect it. Staff never had problem with going with us, all was OK.

it was located in the center of the city near the Basilica and numerous plazas that offered open air restaurants and people watching. the AC s work great and keep the rooms very cool. the showers have excellent pressure. the beds and sheets are new or recent and very comfortable.

The restaurant in the hotel was very small. would be great if the hotel would dedicate space for more tables. maybe play some spa music in the reception area and set up some fans to get air flowing.
