Shoreline Motel

The ground floor studio is a large size and has a small, basic kitchenette with a sink and 2 stovetop elements for simple cooking. The bed is large (wider than King Size) and the en suite is a good size too. Great to have the air conditioner as Napier can get very hot in summer. The location is superb, across the road from the lovely attractions along the Esplanade and a fairly easy walk to the main shopping/cafes street.

The decor is getting somewhat tired. The prices were inflated for the Xmas holiday time. It cost us about $280 per night which is about $100 per night more expensive than usual.

Everything except the shower, as below. We have stayed several times before and will probably be back.

To get a one-bedroom unit we had to take a "disabled" unit which was fine, except water from the shower went all over the floor and flowed toward the bathroom door. It seems the fall on the floor is incorrect - it should slope back towards the shower drain, not towards the door. The shower fitting also needs attention as the shower head kept flopping down. Although the water pressure in the shower is very good, we had to use it at about half pressure as otherwise water went everywhere. The unit could do with a refresh soon - some torn wallpaper and a corroded soap dish in the shower look a bit tacky. The front door locked ok, but was rather loose. Not your fault, but inconsiderate guests banging up and down the exterior steps and calling out in loud voices at 3am was not good.

Great location. Short walk to town, overlooking the bay. Cool rooms with a jacuzzi bath in the bedroom. Nice small balcony overlooking the beach. Great towel, great hot water, nice little kitchen, cool old Deco style. Everything worked. Good price.

Bed was decent, but not the best. Still I slept great. Definitely old, so some of the carpet and other stains from years of use may bother some people.

Everything about Shoreline is close to perfection. extremely happy with my experience, will always book at Shoreline when I am in Hawkes Bay

Not that I do not like, but more of a feedback/suggestion. It was raining hard on the last day and night of my stay. The tile after the stairs could be slippery, a sign would be good i guess, just a reminder. :)

Friendly service. Clean and comfortable room. Aircon was magic. Great bath! Great location with an easy walk to the city.

It would've been good if the door to the balcony had a hook so that it could stay open on a windy day. We were looking for the recycling and rubbish bins on the premises but couldn't locate them. The office was closed at the time.

Spa pool in room while being able to sea beach awesome. Balcony very nice. Large comfy bed. Clean. Easy access to beach front and city.

No lifts so not good if your on second floor with much luggage, no dedicated parking spots so sometimes far away when carrying lots of stuff. Tiny disposable shampoo bottles, not enough.

Friendly, helpful staff. The room was very clean and had a comfortable bed and sofa, and powerful shower. Right on the coast with views of the sea. Short walk to town

A minor point - the condition of the cooking utensils need to be checked as the knives/potato peeler seemed a little blunt

Huge room, great location. Lovely big balcony with views. Nicely equipped kitchenette. Great spa bath in the room. Everything spotless. Very comfy bed.

Wi-fi was patchy and did not work for one day. TV channels very limited. The metal stairs at the back were noisy and the tiles at the bottom dangerously slippery in the rain. Had a group of people congregate outside my door late one night smoking and talking very loudly - had to ask them to be a bit quieter. No security chain on the inside of the door.

The lady checking us in was very friendly ND approachable, the shower had the best water pressure ever and was just delightful! The rooms were clean and very spacious and away from the lounge area which was nice

The tv there was poor choice of channels, a DVD was in the room a couple of dvds to watch would have made a nice touch but this is a very minor dislike. The fan heater in the room seemed to have been broken also but the heatpump kept us nice and toasty warm so again not a major was a fantastic stay.

The room has a balcony overlooking the sea and a very large spa bath, very clean and well serviced.

No lift, DVD player unusable with our discs, no breakfast as advertised when we booked. The beach is a surfing beach not suitable for children.
