Casa Vale do Douro0

Every room has a fantastic view of the Douro River! The casa was a great base for us to explore the Douro region from. It is also a short walk from Mesão Frio, which has good options for cafes and dinner. Our host couldn’t have been nicer and went the extra mile to be sure we were comfortable, including having his English-speaking son on hand to make check-in easy. The daily breakfast was delicious!

Very nice small property with a true home-feeling. Manuel is an amazing host doing everything with much love. Exceptional view from the rooms and garden over the Duoro valley and very nice breakfast to start a day.

The village where the guest house is located does not have much options for a dinner. Please be ready to drive a bit.

Everything was amazing. Location, staff /lovely family that lives in the lower floor of the house, so always someone at your disposal../ the room with absolutely dream of a view, large bathroom... After check-in we were greeted with a bottle of port wine and a bowl of cherries from the garden... So we enjoyed them on the terrace with the pool overlooking the Douro valley. Breakfast the next morning had lot of options, fresh produce, and would satisfy most food preferences.

There is nothing we didn't like. This was one of the places we considered prolonging our stay because of the Douro valley AND the accommodation.

We only had a single nights stay but look forward to returning when possible. The hosts were friendly and the accommodation was very clean. The views were amazing. Breakfast was excellent and parking secure for our motorbike. We enjoyed the hospitality and there was a choice of restaurants within a short walk. A lovely stay, thank you.

THE VIEW. It was incredible. I loved sitting on my private balcony sipping wine and looking out at the valley. This is a very small family-owned place with just a few rooms. The proprietors live in the building and are very kind and accommodating. They helped make a dinner reservation for me and made sure to have breakfast ready early because I needed to leave before the regular breakfast time. It's a really friendly place with a really special view and I definitely recommend staying.

Breakfast was great, view was amazing, super peaceful, cozy room, friendly staff.

would have been great to get some food during the day, like a sandwich or snack. Because once you live the property it's not that easy to find a place to grab a bite (unless you want to have meals)

The owner is lovely and so accommodating. The views are breathtaking and so peaceful. Other guests are very respectful. Breakfast was delicious and varied.

Beautiful location and views from the room! Friendly host and phenomenal breakfast each morning.

Beds were quite firm, but some may appreciate that! Our host didn’t speak English, only French and Portuguese, but he tried his best to communicate with us! We got by with our bit of French- he was very friendly.

Manuel was such a GREAT host. The entire room and home were incredibly clean, spotless. The breakfast was very good. You'll be very happy that you stayed here. Super nice and beautiful. The views are incredible.

Nothing negative to say.

The stuff is very kind and welcoming , the view from the rooms is spectacular, the area is very good for tripping and exploring the Ddouro valey and winery.

The room is very small and there is no closet, bathroom is also very small, bed is small also and not so comfortable for two people.
