Great location in Regua, one street back from the Douro. Hotel has a bar area but we frequented the bar/cafe a couple of steps away. Short walk (15 mins) into the centre of Regua where you'll find plenty of restaurants in the vicinty of the museum. Pool access is across the carpark-the hotel provide you with a chitty to gain entry and you need a new one every day. Breakfast was good. Good base to explore the area along and up into vine covered hills above the Douro. Good value.

Maybe the entrance into the carpark directly off the main road could have had a lower kerb to make it easier to get the motorbikes into it.

We booked a triple room so ordinary double might be on the small size but our room came with a separate area with the single bed that we used as a dressing room. Apart from the last morning , breakfast excellent- plenty of fresh fruit , croissants good, rolls fresh. Unfortunately on the fourth morning when we were leaving, the C team was looking after the breakfast and the service was poor- bad attitude to keeping everything well supplied and slow to clear tables. Service on other mornings was excellent. We were close to the river and found it an easy ( and delightful) walk to catch both the boat trip and the train . The area is fine- ignore previous reviews. Service on last breakfast- if that had been our only experience, we’d have marked the hotel lower. Worth booking a triple room for the extra space.

The staff is beyond praise - on all issues they always went forward. For example, he agreed to contact booking to change the booking from two double rooms to one triple, and this was done without any penalty. And when we decided to extend our stay at the hotel, they made a discount. At the same time, the breakfasts are very good. The location is excellent - next to the beautiful promenade, on which the entertainment area is located (while the hotel is quiet), Godim station, Lidl and Regua with many restaurants. There is a wonderful pool. For the money this is a great hotel.

A simple hotel that does everything well. The staff are really helpful, and booked us a taxi to the station very quickly. The rooms are small, and the lift is slow, but everything works and the hotel is quiet. The breakfast was a lot better than expected, with a good range of bakery items, meats and cheeses, fruit and yoghurts. The free parking is a real attraction for us bikers !

They need a new lift. It creaks everytime you use it...

For the money, you can't beat the value! Although the hotel shows its age a bit here and there (it's an older building), in the things that matter - cleanliness, comfort, kind and helpful staff, gorgeous pool and free breakfast--it is exceptional! I also liked that it was a 20 minute walk downtown but also very close to the neighborhood restaurants/bars and markets!

I would have like a little more selection at the bar; this is a famous wine region (why many travel here) and even one or two regional wines at the bar would be an easy and wonderful addition!

Friendly and helpful staff, centrally located in the Douro Valley. Amazing swimming pool, and ground, great breakfast and free parking

No fault to the staff or property the elevator broke down on one day, it was fixed within 24 hrs. The emergency door would not open from the hall, it also was being attended to once the staff knew about it.

Really clean, staff were great and spoke very good English. The rooms are clean with aircon which was a bit loud but kept it cool. Shower was amazing. Overall I would recommend

The beds were a bit hard to lie on and the aircon was quite loud also there were no plug sockets near the side of the bed.

According to Booking.com app the hotel is just 16km away from Vila Real which is simply not true. We had problems on our motorbikes due to very high temperatures of over 40 degrees and planed to arrive before the sun hits full on us. Due to the wrong information we had to drive over 1 hour on very curvy roads (which under normal circumstances would have been fantastic!) and arrive with almost a sun stroke. This information has to be updated immediately on the booking.com platform

Fairly good location, good wifi.

Our room stank like smoke, there was no option yo request a non smoking room. We were not informed we had to request our room be serviced, or that we needed a ticket to use the pool, which appears to be available to the public.

Reception open for 24h, friendly staff, include breakfast and private parking. They also have pool but we did not have opportunity to try.

Lift to go down from the 3rd floor was not always working and we had to use to use the stairs.
