Quinta dos Poetas Nature Hotel & Apartments

Our room was super-spacious, air-conditioned, extremely comfortable and pristinely clean, with a breathtaking view of the pool, gardens, bowling green, outdoor gym area. Breakfast was excellent, with eggs done to your preference. Dinner at the restaurant was deliciously flavourful, generous and hot, the location is quiet, peaceful and amazing! Rosario and her team are so pleasant, polite, courteous, welcoming and accommodating, serving with a smile... Their service was second to none! We’ll definitely be back!

There was absolutely nothing that we didn’t like!

The staff at this hotel were lovely particularly all the receptionists. They were very accommodating when Ryanair cancelled our flight:they managed to allow us to stay in the same room for an extra night at the same daily rate. The room was very clean on arrival and kept like that by the cleaner. Breakfast was good but like any hotel breakfast gets a bit samey after about three days. Similarly the evening meal at a set menu cost of 20euros whilst good value was a bit lacking in imagination and I wouldn't want to eat there every night. There were plenty of sun loungers when we were there (very beginning of June 2023).

I should have gone to reception with my pillow and asked for a better one: it was way past its' shelf life! As I said breakfast, like any hotel, was a bit repetitive. The sun loungers could have been more padded and it would have been wonderful to have had a heated pool but I understand this is rare in early June.

The breakfast was exceptional with a very good spread. There were many options and what was particularly pleasing was the emphasis put on the many healthy options available. The hotel was ideally situated in a lovely country setting and only about 15 minutes away (by car) from the nearest main town Olhão where there are a large selection of shops and restaurants. One very pleasing aspect of staying at this hotel was the large amount of wildlife in and around the immediate environment. The hotel had it's own pond complete with ducks and turtles and there was also a wide variety of bird life to admire.

Absolutely nothing negative to say - everything surpassed expectations

We liked the tranquility, the location, the setting in nature. The apartment was clean, well-equipped and modern. The staff were really friendly and the food was fantastic. Very positive feedback and we will look to go back!

I think that there could have been more outside activities to entertain the kids. Perhaps the food was a little expensive. I sometimes think these places could make it easier for you to recycle your rubbish too, but overall it was fantastic!

We genuinely felt that the owner and all staff went beyond our expectations of a rural hotel.Food,service and housekeeping were exceptional.Although the hotel was full,the overall quietness and space made it feel as if you were almost alone.

I personally like to have a kettle in the room- rather than going to the restaurant to collect coffee ,first thing in the morning.This is just me and an age thing-can bring my own next time.

Everything we could wish for! Beautiful setting for a quiet and relaxing holiday in a spacious apartment set in peaceful grounds, to wander around and enjoy watching the duck family and terrapins. The apartment was spotlessly clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The lovely town of Olhao is only 10 minutes by car.

Nothing to dislike, everything perfect! A car is essential for exploring the area.

Breakfast: Lovely continental breakfast. The Croissants were crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. The hotel: The decor was warm and very homely. Like a traditional Spanish to Portuguese hotel. The room size was great, and the hotel was keep very tidy and clean. I was very comfortable there. The staff: Friendly, approachable and very eager to help The Gardens: Beautiful, well looked after and well designed. I particularly loved the pond with fishes and turtles. I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend the hotel.

The only challenge is due the location, it helps if you have a car. Otherwise you must use Taxi's or Ubers.

Excellent staff that always tried their best to please. Did not go for breakfast as we had our kitchenette, but stayed for dinner twice and these meals were excellent and very well priced. We thoroughly enjoyed the layout of the place/grounds and the peacefulness. The pool area is very nice & quiet and right next to the restaurant/bar for meals/snacks and drinks (strawberry mojito is not to be missed!). The 'apartment' was well equipped (no dishwasher though) with everything in excellent condition. Comfy bed & pillows. Safe in room, for free. Mosquito netting on windows for fresh outside air, or quiet efficient a/c. A terrace on either side of the apartment, with two loungers and table & chairs provided. Ample, safe parking for cars.

Everything was perfect for us. We had a great family holiday and will look to come back in the near future. My children loved the turtles, and the breakfast was just what we needed. The staff were friendly, efficient and non-intrusive.

The sofa bed was acceptable, but I would have preferred a proper bed to sleep in, as my son slept in the same bed as my wife. The pool was good for adults who like a cold swim, but perhaps not great for children during this season.

Breakfast was excellent with breakfast buffet plus cooked to order scrambled eggs and bacon, fresh coffee and tea and fresh fruit
