The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was exceptional as was the cleanliness throughout and the pool and sauna. The breakfast was excellent and the bar menu and service very good. Food and drinks were delicious and excellent value. The room was spacious, comfortable and quiet. A perfect 5 day stay in a perfect hotel, excellent location for walk into town. This hotel has fabulous facilities and very relaxing garden and quiet areas. A big thank you to all the caring and hard working staff who made our stay so perfect.

Modern property, clean, comfortable.and a good location. Whilst away from the main attractions we still didn’t need to use public transportation to get around. We enjoyed the outdoor space to relax with plenty of shade. Spa opened late.

We could hear, loudly, what we think was a tv from a neighbouring room every time we were in our room including throughout the night. On day two we advised reception of this. It was quiet that evening but could be heard again on the remaining days of our stay. The air-con stopped working on the last night so the room was very warm. It would be a good idea to have adult only times for the pool so that all guests have the opportunity to enjoy this area peacefully if they wish

This is a wonderful hotel. Spacious, modern and clean. Lovely design, from the lifts and corridors to rooms. Thoughtful little touches, like nice toiletries. Incredibly comfy bed and I loved that there was a pool and sauna, which were never crowded. I also loved the design of the en-suite, with separate shower and toilet spaces.

Not a lot of storage for clothes, or to hang clothes if you washed any (eg swim wear), presumably because most people use the hotel for business trips but we were there for eight nights. However it’s a very minor fault given how wonderful the hotel was.

The hotel was very warm and welcoming. The pool was a great respite and especially as I was travelling with my 15 year old son. Staff were very helpful and the location is good with everything a mere walk away and the metro is close to get to the airport or mainline station.

The rooms lack storage space for clothes. As two vegans we were severely lacking in options for breakfast just non dairy milk to have with cereal. I would stay again but not go for B&B as Porto has lots of great vegan cafés and restaurants.

Breakfast was good and a nice selection, hotel is a good walk from city center but walkable if you are fit

Complimentary water is normally provided daily in hotels I have stated in but not here, there was no flannels in the bathroom, no tissues in the bedroom only in the bathroom, could do with something in the bathroom to hold toothpaste and toothbrushes also no drawers to put your underwear and no proper bedside cabinets to put your personal belongings and no proper wardrobe just a rail and hangers, so if you are staying for one week as a couple you cannot hang all your clothes up

When I first arrived, I was excited to take a dip in the pool and relax after a long day of traveling. However, upon reaching the pool area, I was disappointed to find that the pool was empty and there was no sign of it being fixed anytime soon. I spoke to the hotel staff, and they informed me that the pool had been out of order for several days and they were waiting for parts to arrive to fix it. After talking with the hotel staff about the pool , they offered me a discount during the stay as a compensation.

The facilities were fantastic, we really enjoyed the swimming pool and the sauna and made good use of the gym. The bed was massive and very very comfortable. We got some complementary sweets one day which was a very nice touch. The hotel is very modern and the room has anything you can expect for a hotel of this standard, TV with Chromecast, coffee/tea and a nice shower and bathroom. We also were able to book a massage one of the days and made our experience great.

Everything was really nice, we would go again.

We loved the attention to detail and friendliness of the staff. The place was well thought out from floor planning to service. As far as location, the hotel was so close to everything that we were able to walk to all of our desired locations. Even though we never mentioned it, they even surprised my girlfriend with a birthday gift in our room when we arrived from our day trip to Coimbra. One of the best hotel experiences we have had in our European travels.

If we had to make a suggestion, we would have liked more places to hang towels and bathrobes. Otherwise, everything was perfect. Highest of recommendations.

Everywhere was extremely clean, both communal areas and the room. Reception staff were well presented & very helpful & friendly. Breakfast was very good with a very good selection of both hot and cold foods. Not rushed. Beds were very comfortable. The gym & pool are a great addition and looked well maintained. Nice garden area

Lack of wardrobe/storage space. We had to keep most of our things packed in the suitcase. There is no closed wardrobe although there is an open rack for hanging some things. Our room had a musty smell to it The lighting in the bathroom was dim. & no full length mirror.

This Beautiful hotel is just a few meters from the city centre of Porto, but located at a calm street. The room was really big and comfortable, and the facilities at the Bessa Hotel Baixa were and is excellent. The staff were amazing and really thoughtful and helpful. I got sick and they called a doctor for me, I didn’t even left my room, the doctor came to me. Overall, this is the best hotel in Porto and I think they should add one more star(we loved our stay this much)because for us they already were a 5 star hotel. Obrigada à todos e até a próxima Porto!
