Memoria Porto FLH Hotels

We loved everything about the property! I can not emphasize enough about what an absolute gem this hotel is. The location directly across from the Douro River is perfect! Our room was cozy, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was top notch. The breakfast eating area is cozy and charming. The breakfast had a fantastic selection to choose from. The staff at breakfast were so professional. Best of all were the entire staff at this hotel. They were so professional, welcoming, friendly and helpful!! We were always greeted upon arriving back at the hotel. It felt like coming home!!

The hotel is centrally located. The property is beautifully refurbished and first impressions of the lobby, staff welcome and room were a solid ten.

Nothing really negative to say about the staff. One point to note however, regarding parking. Staff mentioned to us that we could park outside the property for free, but we realised that there was a car park nearby and used that one instead. Please note the public car park is by the hour and does not offer a daily rate. It would have been great if the hotel had this information and warned customers not to get stung and park outside for free if possible. After four days we were stung by the local parking.

About the staff - -Gabriel, the happy man who gave excellent restaurant recommendations and gave candies when we were desperate for some bonbon, what a sweet man :-)) -Ana, the beautiful lady who took care of us from the minute we reserved the hotel. how to get to the hotel, what to see..eat...drink..... -Sara the lovely lady made sure we got the best at breakfast, Gaia cuisines & beach. Francesinha sauce..mmmm -Ricardo, "Mr Google of Porto" can tell you anything you want about Porto including Duoro valley wine, Matosinhos beach, the best seafood restaurant in the world until the best haircut in town ...absolutely real Google of Porto ;-)) -The young cleaning lady (didnt get her name) was super sweet, tidied up our room so well, definately MORE than FLH.. -About the hotel - Excellent location by the riverside, surrounded by restaurants, cafes, super clean, new, modern, excellent quality bed and very quiet for good sleep...and coffee tea cakes in the afternoon ;-) -About us - Hope to be back again ;-) --Thank you all for the wonderful time in Porto.

I loved the light and airy feel of the hotel and its convenience to the river front. Even though it was on a main street, it was surprisingly quiet. Our room had opening balcony windows which let in the breeze which I love. The staff (we had most conversation with Andre) all spoke good English and were always ready to help book taxis, suggest restaurants or places to go. After our 6 day stay, he felt more like a friend! There was a very good selection of food to suit all tastes at breakfast, all nicely displayed and you can ask for scrambled eggs to be cooked fresh if you wish. The homemade cake and coffee or tea at 5pm was always appreciated after a day of sightseeing. Porto is a busy city with some beautiful architecture and the walks by the river, past the entertainers and cafes, were enjoyable but I would like to give a shout out to the suburbs if you are there for a longer period of time as we were. You don't need a car-the transport system of buses, tram and especially the metro was modern, frequent and cheap. A 10 min walk to Sao Bento station also gives you access to the trains to go further afield. We used the metro to go to Vila do Conde, a town with a palace (currently undergoing restoration), a Roman aquaduct, an old fort, and a river walk to the wild Atlantic ocean-just beautiful and peaceful.

We had rain on our first day and finding somewhere in the room to hang wet things was hard. We could have done with a couple more hooks or a rail but really this was a minor niggle.

The best thing about this hotel is the staff. They definitely think about customers' comfort. Luis from the front desk was super helpful and geared towards hospitality. Another pro is that coffee and tea are available 24/7. In the afternoon they also serve cakes.

The mattress was extremely soft, that type of mattress that you sink down the moment you sit on it. That said, I did not have a restful sleep during my stay. Breakfast is served in rounds because the eating area is too small. The food is okay. Location is good for visiting the Ribeira area, however not so good for the other touristic places in the center. My room did not have a mirror. It seems it previously fell, but the hotel did not replace it.

The location of this hotel could not be better as it is right by the river and very close to bars and restaurants but we didn't experience any issues with noise. All staff encountered were super friendly and helpful. The provision of cake in the afternoon is a nice touch. The availability of scrambled egg cooked freshly to order at breakfast was nice.

The room we had felt a little claustrophobic as the windows were small and the blind in the bathroom area needed to be kept closed for privacy from the visitors to the adjacent church. Would like to have tea making facilities in the room. Supplies of food items on the breakfast buffet were not replenished promptly. For example, it seemed like the pastries were counted out according to the number of guests and if somebody had more than expected then somebody else went without.

It’s a cute boutique hotel. The property is located in a prime area. The tram and the hop on hop off pick up location is right in front. Staff is friendly and breakfast is beyond amazing. Staff is super friendly and very accommodating. Our flight on the last day was early morning and we were going to miss the delicious breakfast. When we mentioned that to the front desk lady(sorry don’t remember her name), she packed a few cheese sandwiches for us to go, that we enjoyed on our flight. I also do have to mention the bedding. The beds are extremely comfortable including the pillows. I usually never like hotel bedding or pillows but this was the first time in my life that I felt at home. And I travel quiet a bit and stayed in some really good hotels. Overall, I highly recommend them.

The rooms are beautiful, big and nicely decorated. Some look the Church or the river. They are clean and bright. The position is fantastic, 2 minutes from the riverside and in a central area full of nice restaurants. Breakfast is super, with a wide variety of sweet and salty options, all of high quality, including local products. My personal favourite is that they give you free Nespresso coffee and water all day, free Porto wine and cakes in the afternoon and evening, and you can have those in their nice breakfast room, which oversees the river. The front desk was really nice and helpful. Definitely worth going back!

Couldn’t fault our stay. Offered coffee and cake and port wine while we’re were being checked in. Couldn’t get a better location in Porto. Very central while being quiet at night. Overlooking the river. Historic tram 1 started outside the hotel and goes to the coast. Only few mins walk from restaurants and bars. Six bridges boat trips only a few mins away. Room was spotless and spacious. Nothing negative about our stay.

Very nice and friendly staff. The hotel is stylish and modern. I had a room with a view to the river. Very nice and comfy room with wooden floor. You can also set the room temperature in your room (for me it is important feature). Really felt like in home. Nice breakfast.

The toilet was with blurred glass door and there is no sound isolation between toilet and the bedroom. It did not bother me as I was staying in the room alone, but it can be disturbing if you are sharing the room with someone.
