Ribeira do Porto Hotel

The room and bathrooms were impeccably clean, the staff exhibited exceptional hospitality. Despite a delayed landing flight, they seamlessly accommodated us, allowing a hassle-free late-night check-in. This hotel's prime location in the heart of Porto's tourist hub is unbeatable. Without a doubt, we'll be returning to both this remarkable hotel and the captivating city of Porto. Furthermore, their luggage storage service was a savior, as it allowed us to explore the city without a care while waiting for our night flight.

You do have to walk half a block to the hotel. It’s not necessary bad but if you’re carrying a few bags it can be a mini workout

The location is absolutely incredible. The room was gorgeous, we had three doors throughout our room that opened onto our private balcony! It was clean with all amenities provided, even a desk and chair. There was a lift, access to the actual hotel was easy, and we had the exact view you see in the photos. We are staying in 20 cities across Europe over 2 months and this was our absolute favourite place we stayed, and so well priced! I cannot recommend enough!

It can be a little bit loud with the buskers outside in the main square, but they stop at a reasonable time and don’t start too early either, and we actually ended up enjoying it. You cannot hear too much when all the doors and windows are closed though and just part of the deal with such an amazing location.

The location is perfect if you know what to expect - yes, it is noisy. Yes, it is the centre of the world - don't stay here if you don't like such squares. The hotel was better than I expected. Modern, comfortable, with spacious rooms and beautiful bathroom. Clean white towels (though a bit old) and white sheets. Beds - okay, mattresses rather soft. Amazing view (superior). Fast elevator. Great breakfast - yes, you have to remember to order a day before, but this is not a problem. Lots of fresh fruit and delicious croissants. Staff - our favourite employee was Solange (sorry if I misspell the name), she was helpful and smiling. The rest of the staff - not so much. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Porto for the first time. Reception open 24/7.

Except for Solange the staff was rude, sulky, unhelpful. For the first time in my life they did not want to post my postcards (I couldnt find a postbox for a few days - eventually I sent them from Braga!). They smoked a lot with their friends outside, they never asked how we were. We were lucky it was Solange who checked us in. Except for the rude staff - would be nice to have more hangers in the closet.

The property is in an ideal position in the old square by the river, it has very little facilities but right outside the door are all the bars and Cafes at your disposal I can recommend a very good restaurant just round the corner, “Postigo do Carvaoit” It’s very popular so you must book. The view from my bedroom window was amazing.

it’s not possible to park near the hotel, I had to use an underground car park two blocks away.

The service by Pedro was excellent and responsive. The location was Supreme being close to the bridge and was not noisy once the windows were fully closed. Loved being where the activities were with very close access to multiple restaurant choices.

The unclear direction from Google maps and from Booking.com. it was hard to identify the property from a similarly named property only a single block away but due to sign restrictions we walked in circles with our luggage for an extra half hour before we saw this property.

Best location in the Ribeira Square. Small, clean hotel, good breakfast with prebooking in the evening for the next morning. Close to Sao Bento train and metro station.

Being near the river, you are in the lowest point of town. You need good feet to walk around. All Porto is on hills, so... Poor wifi in the evening, surely a lot of guests connected at the same time and network. In weekend evenings, a little bit noisy, in the morning at 6:30-7:00 starts the cleaning of the square, workers in the proximity... Windows do not provide sufficient noise canceling.

The location is absolutely amazing: right on the river bank. We had a room with a breathtaking view to the Luis I bridge which added to the positive experience.

The room was quite dark both in terms of interior as well as lighting, some more light would be nice. Breakfast need to be ordered the night before which is a bit of a hassle as you need to foresee what you will be wishing to eat the next day. Moreover, the breakfast are very simple (cold cuts, cheese, pastries, eggs) and could easily be self-service.

Location is in centre of the action. My room overlooked the river. Staff were great.

Because there is a lot of activity in the area you will hear music going late into the night. A concert series was happening in gaia and the sound travelled across the river- nothing the hotel can di. I ended up sleeping with earbuds and white noise on my phone to drown it out. Be aware cars cannot drive up to the hotel so you will need to carry luggage a cobblestone block.

We asked for some milk at reception, only to be told it was not possible during the day after 11a.m. There was a coffee/hot chocolate/hot water machine in the breakfast room, which we had to pay for after 11a.m. We think this was disgraceful. Access to milk shouldn’t have been that difficult. The receptionist was very offhand with us and said we would have to use the machine and use hot milk. So not at all satisfactory. A smile from her wouldn’t have gone amiss. A shame because everything else was good.

Location was great. View from room was incredible. Walking distance to great restaurants. Actually right out the door and you are at river and many restaurants. Great access to river walk, literally right out the door. Staff was extremely helpful and pleasant.

Room was small but you are only there to sleep. Shower was very small, similar to what you might find on a cruise ship.
