Nice Hotel, Great Location. Very nice Breakfast Buffet

Our room was very small for two people, not enough space to hang towels and clothes, tiny bathroom without any surface space. Toilet door was a clanky glass sliding door. No sound isolation and impossible to use quietly during the night. Slightly negative experience with the restaurant staff when we wanted to have a bite to eat at 3 pm. At first the waiter got upset thst we sat down without asking him and then we were treated quite rudely for our meal. Generally the restaurant staff was not always at the level of attention that I would expect at a 5 Star Hotel

One of the most beautiful hotels we have ever stayed in. From the moment you check in, the service is warm and impeccable. The entire staff are so friendly and professional. Our room was breathtakingly designed, down to every last detail. The views of the River Douro are stunning. After the DELICIOUS buffet breakfast (we were addicted) you can lay out for hours by the infinity pool overlooking the city and the river, lost in sensory bliss. Just don’t forget at some point to leave the hotel and see Porto! A SPECIAL MENTION to the ladies at the Calla Spa. This was by the far the best hotel spa I have experienced. So kind and superb at what they do. I arrived with a painful lower back and after two sessions with physiotherapist extraordinaire Angela I was fully mobile again! The couples’ massage was also gorgeous and amazing. Do not miss the spa! They are miracle-workers down there.

An absolutely great experience right from the moment we entered the hotel and were greeted by a wonderful receptionist Ines up until when were helped to our taxi and waved goodbye. The hotel is located in a more quiet surrounding and it takes approx. 15 minutes on foot to get to any major attractions and to the Ribeira. If you don't like walking then you can easily get a taxi in front of the hotel which we used to go to restaurants in the evening. We loved the contemporary vibe of the place, the beautifully decorated lobby, and the restaurant from which the view was simply breathtaking. The room we had was on the 3rd floor and had two small balconies and again a side view of the river and the city. It was large and comfortable. As for breakfast, we loved the selection of different kinds of bread, a great variety of fruits, and cold and hot dishes to choose from. Make sure you try the yoghurt:)

The pool area is so peaceful and the hotel art theme makes it interesting. The impressive service was consistent through our entire stay (It started as 3 but ended up being 8 nights because I was so happy and relaxed there due to the facilities and the staff!) The team - every department - is extremely hard working, thoughtful, and genuine. All staff are focused on ensuring you have everything you need and they do it in a quiet and professional manner. The food and drinks are delicious with a huge variety for the breakfast. (Also, make sure you reserve a place for dinner as it fills up quickly). The beds are super comfortable and some of the rooms have incredible views. The staff accommodated any need when it was possible to do so and went out of their way to do surprising little extras. I don’t believe I have ever experienced this level of service in any of the other 5 star hotels that I have stayed in. I was happy to see Sophia this morning as I checked out as I wanted to let her know how much they are valued. I will be back and fully recommend this to anyone wishing a fun, relaxing holiday!

breakfast good , view superb and staff is friendly . I broke a lamp on the nighttable ( by accident ) , it's was not charged

Needs general inspection ( scale didn't work , water on the outside chairs , dust under the lamps on the nighttables, view to televison blocke by woudenbeam from four-poster bed , not enough closet space , nothing to put toilet gear , no light in intrance , not possible to have milk cupsfor the coffee in the room , products in shower low quality , the 'porch' around the ' outside' tub ) . Dinner in restaurant was (just )ok . In general for not 5 but 4 star hotel

This hotel is truly outstanding - probably the best we have ever had the pleasure of staying at. The location is superb- it is in a quiet neighbourhood and a 10 or 15 minute walk to the city centre. We were upgraded to a spacious suite which was absolutely stunning and had a wonderfully comfortable bed and a lovely view of the pool, dining area and river. The staff are very welcoming, helpful and friendly and organise restaurant booking, drives to the airport, and spa treatments. The buffet breakfast was exceptional. I have never seen such a bountiful buffet in my life- everything is fresh and delicious. Breakfast included sparkling wine, melon, eggs, bacon, mushrooms, pastries, cakes, berries, yogurt, cereal, several types of fresh bread, and much more. We plan on returning in the near future! A wonderful place to relax and rejuvenate!

In one word! MARVELLOUS This beautiful hotel has it all: Situated at the best spot in Porto The best View that will never disappoint you Staff is superb and will give 110 % to make you feel welcome and very very at home. Rooms are perfect and spacious and all different and we had the pleasure to use 3 of them. Every room had its own style and character none of them disappointed us. We stayed one week at this fantastic place and will for sure go back and will tell all of our friends to choose Torel Avantgarde when visiting Porto.

Hotel is situated in a quiet area, noise was non-existent. I appreciated that my room was on the top floor of the new building. the room was exquisite, the view from the bathroom to the river was amazing. Mattress was really comfortable. amenities are great Shower has great acoustics, so I sang a lot under the shower 😀One additional thing is that the scent in the hotel was incredible, it was everywhere but not in a disturbing way. Breakfast was everything you want, multiple selection of bread and pastries, chia pudding, all kinds of jams and other toppings. champagne and fresh fruit juice. view from the restaurant is exactly how the pictures are suggesting, full view to the river and next to a pool. gym was ok.

heating was a bit tricky to work correctly, it was not enabled to do it manually, I had to call down to reception to have it switched on. but staff was helpful to help at all times.

The hotel was very Aventgarde!!! The lobby, bar, sitting area, and restaurant were very lovely. Breakfast was fantastic!!! All drinks we had at the bar were delicious. We had the afternoon tea for 2 which was exellent. We did not use the pool and outside jacuzzi; I wanted to, but it is not heated. We did use the indoor jacuzzi which was nice after a day of hiking the city. Our room was very nice. We had wonderful views overlooking the river. The beds were comfortable. We had plenty of space in the room. It was nice to have usb ports next to the bed for phones. We loved the bathrobes. The tea and coffee in the room was tasty. The best thing was the staff!!!!! You certainly feel like royalty!!!! No matter what we asked, they answered and met our needs.

So this is not a deal breaker, but a just in case. The bathroom did not have an external door. The doors are glass with a frosted area. If you need counter space, there was not any around the sink. The lighting was not well either if you wear make up. We used the wall of mirrors in the bedroom, but still the lighting was not well. Again, not a deal breaker, but we were not quite prepared for this.

A luxury hotel but with a boutique feel with some unique touches and small enough never to feel too crowded. Great views of the Douro and the staff were always attentive and helpful . Complimentary bottle of fizz delivered to the room was much appreciated. The restaurant meal was outstanding and breakfasts included was great. Spa area and massages were an added bonus.

Bit of a climb from the river and if you are not walking fit this location would not be ideal. Our room (Picasso) was gorgeous but a bit more lighting is needed. No direct access to the Spa area means you need to walk outside via the hotel lobby or the restaurant, so not so nice in winter but this is not a massive issue.
