Hotel Colina Dos Mouros

Great location, only a short walk to the centre of Silves and with ample parking. Bed was comfortable and the room a good size.

Rooms are a bit dated and in need of a refresh. The shower cubicle was also a little small for a 6'1" man and with no shelf to hold toiletries.

The view from our room was amazing. We had our our small terrace with seats and a table, and a view looking across into the old town of Silves, with its Moorish castle and cathedral, which are lit up at night.

Although the breakfast was all very nice (Continental), the way it is organised made it difficult to get to anything without queuing, or constantly having to squeeze past other people. An addition of a second coffee and tea machine would go some way to speeding things up for everyone.

I have been staying here for many years, it's a good location to use as a base for visiting the Western Algarve. Silves is a very agreeable town and is an easy walk from the hotel. Large amount of free parking available, always a plus. Lovely views of the town and castle from some parts of the hotel, although you may have to pay a small amount extra for a room with 'Castle Views' Many rooms have a small balcony. Gardens and grounds are very well kept. Ample space around the pool area. The hotel is not what you would call luxurious but represents very good value for money. Roomy Upstairs Lounge area if you need to relax outside of your room.

Rooms are not particularly well soundproofed which sometimes feels that your next neighbours have moved in with you. Not always the case as not all residents lack consideration for others. The hotel is quite old and is a bit 'tired' in some respects but it is very functional and represents good value for money.

The choice of food was good for breakfast, and there are plenty of tables in the breakfast area with some tables outside on the terrace with a beautiful view of the castle. The location of the hotel was only a short walk from the town where many restaurants could be found.

It would be lovely to have a bottle of water in the room and some glasses. And the soap dispensers in the bathroom could be better. The hot food at breakfast was in short supply.

The only issue we had was, our bedroom was under the dining room and we heard the scraping of chairs on the floor from start of breakfast each morning

Great views of Silves, great location for walking into town for food and coffee. Pool side was wonderful and relaxing. Staff were really helpful and friendly and drinks were cheap. We had a fabulous private balcony with our room with amazing view of the Castle.

Some of the decor needs a bit of updating, like the bathroom tiles and grouting.

We liked everything, great location big well equipped outdoor pool facility very close to Silves 3 mins walk across bridge, especially for visiting the medieval festival which was our purpose. Great views of Castle from terraces. Good breakfast. Spacious room and bathroom. Plenty of parking so no complaints will definitely use this hotel again.

I have stayed at this hotel before and it's location and views of Silves are fantastic. I go because it is in easy walk into the city, with no problems of parking, the staff are helpful & friendly. Although a little basic in areas and the bedrooms, value for money it's great. Clean tidy and a good breakfast what more do you want. One more thing at the end of a lovely day in the city there's nothing better than a cool drink on hotel terrace with a spectacular view of the Silves castle lit up at night.

Fabulous location a short walk over the bridge into town. Loved the pool and the views of the Castle. Our terrace was sunny and our room huge. The staff were always available and helpful.

Breakfast was a little basic but it was adequate. This place has the potential to be amazing but then no doubt it wouldn't be such an inexpensive stay!

Colina dos Mouros is a hotel I have been visiting for many years. The views across to the castle are wonderful. The staff are friendly. Breakfast is good. Aircon very efficient. Pool and area lovely. It is in a very good location, a short walk into town, where you can find many excellent restaurants.
