Hotel Bardo Recoletos Coco

Really well located hotel for a stopover in Salamanca. Easily accessible from the motorway and a 20-minute walk from the city centre. Free parking as well, which is great. Staff are friendly and there is a restaurant which is open for reasonably priced breakfasts and dinners. There is also a large Carrefour supermarket just over the road. Would definitely recommend this hotel for those travelling by car.

It was a shame the pool wasn't open a bit earlier in the summer (we did know about this before arrival). We stayed in early June when the weather was hot, but it wasn't due to open for another week or so.

The reception staff when we arrived were lovely and the food and the staff in the restaurant were wonderful. When I asked for info about Salamanca there was a lovely person in reception who took time to guide me around the city using a map. Great, just what I wanted....

The bed mattress was very hard and not comfortable I would suggest putting mattress toppers on them. The most important thing when you stay in a hotel is a good night's sleep and the comfort of the mattress and the pillow. Invest in good quality pillows and a good mattress or mattress topper it would really enhance your guests stay to another level !

Breakfast was worth the 7.50 Euros each. Excellent choice of freshly prepared items. Good choice of cold meats and cheeses. Fruit selection and yoghurt was superb. However, all that was let down by the cooked eggs and bacon. Both the scrambled eggs and the fried eggs was cold as was the bacon. Really disappointed. But given everything else with breakfast I'm sure it was just an oversight. Parking as superb and is covered by cctv, so we felt very reassured. Very easy access to town and back to the motorway. We will return for a 3rd visit.

The bedroom was hot, air conditioning was a pain so we turned it off. The bathroom radiator we had no control over and the room was oppressive with the heat. The cold cooked breakfast.

Food good. Room and bathroom lovely and big and very clean and fresh. The beds were huge and really comfy. Slept really well on crisp white sheets. Toothbrushes and razor provided along with moisturising cream. Nice touch. Staff polite and friendly. We were on route to ferry and only stayed one night but I would definitely stop here again.

Had meal from a la carte menu. Waiter brought bread for the table and water which he poured. Neither were ordered but we were charged. Also my husband asked for a glass of wine which was poured from a new bottle. I was also poured a glass unasked, and the bottle was left on the table. The wine was excellent and we ended up drinking it all. My point is, be careful as this clever waiter made about €17 extra for the hotel !

It gives you everything you need from a 4 star hotel! (No kettle, but a café downstairs next to the restaurant). Modern building, the staff are friendly and helpful, beds comfortable, all very clean. There is even a big supermarket on the corner to stock up with snacks or things you forgot to pack.

It was all great! Although not in the historic centre, there is a bus route just two streets away. Route 9 takes that you to the shopping area, the Mediaeval city AND down to the river. Standard fare 1€ 5c each, pay in cash so keep spare change in your pocket. It's also easy to walk to town - quicker going downhill than coming back up, but it's a chance to walk off the calories you just put on!

Great location. Room was clean and has everything we needed. Victor on reception at checking was charming, as was the gentleman who checked us out. The menu of the day for dinner was exceptional value, as was breakfast. Would definitely recommend and would stay again. Free parking also a big plus, and so easy to get back onto the motorway in the morning

Only very small niggle was the thin walls between the bedrooms, and we had a noisy neighbour who was talking loudly on his phone pre-bedtime, then snored loudly post bed-time.

We were travelling to Portugal from santander. The location is perfect for a stop when it comes to where we were heading. A quiet hotel on the edge of town. There is a supermarket close by as some fast food places. The hotel had a couple of cycling teams staying over (in preparation for La Vuelta) so some reduced parking but still managed to park in the underground car park. A very quiet hotel and a gigantic bed which was very comfortable. Breakfast selection was very good and plenty to choose from. Very impressed with the value for money

Nothing as I cannot find any fault

The hotel was clean. More of a business hotel than tourist. The room was large, well appointed and very comfortable with a huge king bed which was extremely comfortable. We arrived just before end of lunch and had the most amazing menu del dia for Euro 25 each. This is now a problem for us as all meals are being measured by this standard.

The only thing that let it down was the bath and shower, needs updating.

Affordable comfortable hotel for a visit to Salamanca. Outdoor pool was good place to cool down in the afternoon heat.

Pool only had 10 sun beds 5 of which had towels (1 family) on them only one sun bed was used for s host period of time during our entire afternoon stay (2/3 hours) other guests forced to sit on the ground. the life guard appearing to ignore the displeasure of the majority. The location on the outskirts of town is good but a €8 taxi fare to Playa Mayor.

Lovely hotel in good location. Staff are very helpful. Big room.

1)The walls of the rooms are not very well insulated so if you have noisy people in the room next to you it is a problem...A tip for the hotel: if your rooms are not all taken maybe you can leave a room empty every time so 'neighbours' don't keep us awake. Also you could put up signs for people asking to be quiet in the main areas and to respect the other guests. 2) Some little things need a bit of TLC...
