Hotel & Spa La Residencia Puerto

The hotel has beautiful décor with a Moroccan influence. It is very clean with a comfortable bed in a spacious room. Parking can be booked internally. The showering products and welcome mini bar are wonderful. The hotel is close to the Port and Ferry terminal which was ideal for our trip across to Tangier. There are lots of restaurants and tapas bars within easy walking distance. The hotel reception and breakfast staff were great.

The room was very hot when we came in each day after travelling, and the air conditioning unit was sluggish - it was also set so it would not go below 21 degrees (but the embodied heat was greater). When we opened the doors for better ventilation/ cooling, but it was very noisy - mainly from large seagulls that seem to be awake all through the night! While we appreciated and supported the no plastics and sustainable aspects- the inability to have a room that we could cool to a comfortable sleeping temperature particularly for the cost per night, did not represent value for money for us, in all other respects, it was excellent.

Room and Hotel are sparkling clean 👍. Location is very convenient to visit the old town or catch a ferry to Morocco. Unfortunately the Restaurant was still closed 😫 The Breakfast Buffet was very fresh , tasty and plentiful .The Mangement is very keen of keeping things environmentally friendly 👍👍. Parking on site is a plus and 15,00 Euros is a fare price. We liked our stay sooooo much , we booked, right away , 2 nights for the month of November . This Hotel is an undiscovered Gem 💎

You can look and look around , you won't find anything to complain 😉

Such a great place to stay to base your exploration of Morocco. Close to the ferry dock and the old town. The staff were wonderful. The food at the restaurant was really good too. A great roof top pool to soak in the views of the ocean and coast of Africa. Good parking garage available too if you are driving here.

These things did not affect my overall rating as they were beyond the control of the hotel. First, it is windy, like really windy here. Was not prepared for that. There was a constant sound from the wind all night in our room. Second, the hotel can be easy to drive by and miss. Best thing to do is look for the outdoor seating for El Patio. Lastly, the noise from the room above was quite bothersome. I believe they had small children that started running around at 5 AM. It's our bad for not alerting the hotel to this, so again, not a knock on the accommodations. They were great!

Beautiful, spacious room and bathroom with good facilities in a fantastic location, a short walk from the port, old town and beaches. Breakfast buffet had a great choice and was delicious. Staff were very friendly and helpful. What really stood out for me though were the lots of little touches designed to make a guest's stay more comfortable. For example, when I was asked what time I wanted to have breakfast and I explained I'd booked an early morning ferry to Tangier, they offered me a takeaway picnic cold breakfast which was lovely. Also, small details like USB ports for charging your devices, and a smart TV that allowed you to stream your own TV apps from your phone.

Lovely refurbished historical building. The buffet breakfast was the best we encountered across Southern Spain. The room had a mini bar, beach/pool towels and a pair of binoculars. Very short walk to the old town, the mediterranean beach and the Atlantic beach. great staff. Spa facilities if needed. Some nice touches like filtered water on every floor, ice creams in foyer on hot days and popcorn in the afternoon. very thoughtful. Pool area lovely with a great view and a soft touch pool, open long hours.

Wow, what a great hotel! My mom and I traveled all over Spain and Portugal and this was my favorite place we stayed! The price is incredible for what you get. The room was beautiful and the soaps smelled AMAZING. The complimentary mini-bar was a lovely touch and the rooftop pool really takes the whole hotel to the next level. Definitely check out the rooftop views and see Africa from the comfort of your hotel. This place blew me away, but the breakfast was the most memorable part! It is THE BEST hotel buffet I've ever been to. They have a machine that will grind up fresh hazelnut butter (like Nutella), great coffee and tea, fresh-cut fruit, great eggs and toast, and a juicer. Literally the best juice I've tasted and the breakfast was free with our room! I would go again just for the meal!

The staff were the kindest, most helpful people ever. They went above and beyond in attention. A lively bonus was a Wonderful Guitar event by the pool with paella and also in the evening at another time.

Due to a windy few days there was a reliance on TV for my not so mobile parents... not usually something to merit importance, but only limited channels were available. However when we mentioned it, it was discussed and the suggestion was treated well.

We had a garden room. My husband said he was in James Bonds room 007🤣. Words cannot express what a wonderful stay we had at this beautiful hotel. It's not our first visit. Whilst the hotel is beautifully decorated with a Moroccan theme it's the staff that set this establishment apart. The attention to detail, the smiles, the acknowledgement, a total WOW. The humour at the front desk /and lounge was brilliant fun. On site parking is definitely a plus in busy Tarifa. The location of the hotel is perfect to leave the car behind for days. The roof top pool is gorgeous. Over the weekend there was ( free) entertainment in the lounge /bar area with Spanish musicians. The food is sustainably sourced, healthy and a great variety with a short footprint. This is an establishment with a big environmental awareness which really mattered to me and definitely affected our visit positively. Finally, this is a very peaceful and calm place. We will return again, and again.

Our room was even nicer than it looked in the photos! It was super clean & comfortable, had luxury amenities and a big bathtub. The view from the balcony was stunning. The staff were kind and helpful - they even packed us some really nice breakfast picnic bags since we had to check out & catch a ferry before breakfast was served. The location is great - we were able to walk from the Tarifa bus station to the hotel, and then it was a very short walk to the ferry the next day. I wish we would have stayed more than one night.

My father had an accident and the staff were very kind. Loved the view from the room over the port. Loved the filtered water in the corridor. Spa was beautiful. 22 euros each normally. Great location and tight but good parking 15 euros a day.

Some staff were not helpful. Jorges at breakfast didn’t even tell us we could have cooked options; just barked Buffett! The pool area is a bit tired. The staff in the evenings were lovely.
