U.I.J Hotel & Hostel

if you're looking for a very comfortable hostel, this is it!! the bunk beds (12 people) were very comfortable, everyone has a shelf next to their bed box as well as a locker (big suitcases won't fit). you might think it gets very noisy in such a big dorm, but it was fine!! the shared bathrooms were clean and nice too, i looked forward to showering there after a sweaty day haha. despite every facility being a shared space, you have lots of privacy. the community room (?) was really comfortable and spacious with sofas and fatboys and a kitchen, it's great for working from there. there's a terrace too which i recommend spending time at at night! and lastly, the breakfast/restaurant was amazing, you can choose from a menu every morning and they will prepare a delicious meal for you. all in all felt like a pretty luxurious hostel :) would come back

to me, it was a bit difficult to get around tainan from there, but it was fine still!

location was at the heart of the old town, very convenient in terms of food options and many quaint tiny alleys and streets! facilities wise they had everything, balmuda toaster, coffee grinder (With beans!) and even the toilets had free hair oil and styling guides for hairstyle. every detail was really on point in this cozy space!

unfortunately the biggest issue was the WiFi! i really struggled with getting decent connection, even whatsapp calls without video was choppy! its really such a pity that this place had everything and was super cozy but wifi connection is so weak and unstable :(

It was so impressive the moment you arrived at the lobby, where you can find a beautiful designed front desk, with a little coffee shop, souvenir corner and bookstore. Staff were all so efficient and nice, like all the Taiwanese, and their key card leather holder with a Tainan guide book may be one of the best ideas I have ever seen in a hostel/hotel. I stayed in the female dormitory for 1 night. The bathroom is clean and quipped with enough showers and amenities you need. The bed is comfy and the dormitory space is so spacious! My friend and I spent a lot of time having our late night snacks in the common area, which is also nicely designed and cozy to stay at. Their breakfast at the restaurant is also very good! P.S. I love their uniform so much! So special and trendy :)

Front desk and service staffs are super friendly and helpful! It’s like a design hotel with books and design magazines of both food, travel etc. nice cozy hotel nestled amidst the old point part of Tainan. Immediate proximity to cafes, eateries, mall and blueprint creative. Very walkable. Always looking forward to having the breakfast at the hotel. It’s pretty good! There’s a common hangout lounge in the 3rd level where you can make your own tea and coffee at the generous kitchen counter! can even bake!

Inside of a street block on a quiet street. Very design and contemporary. Nice mix of clients between dorms and private room. Useful common space with self service kitchen and lounge. Very nice lobby with lots of books on display.

The rooms are not equipped with safety lockers, but the area is safe. There is only one washer-dryer, so you may have to way if someone is using them. There is a lack of shelves and hooks to put your stuff in the room, so you have to use the floor. It looks good but it is not luxurious, but price/quality ratio is good.

A lot of thought was put into the design of the place. The rooms were comfortable and having sparkling water was a plus. Love the concept of sustainability. The lounge was beautiful and very relaxing. As what some commented, the corridors, lounge, and rooms all smelled great. There were a lot of great food choices in the vicinity, within walking distance. The staff were also helpful and they offered taxi-booking services. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly and will definitely stay here again the next time we visit Tainan!

Central location with parking included in a quiet area. Close to many shopping and dining options in Tainan. Lobby area featured a pop-up for Magazine B which was a pleasure to read through, and a nice area to relax. Common area near the hostel rooms included board games, a kitchen, a bar, and a sitting area with plush cushions. Really nice room as well in the hotel room, including choice of vinyl records to play and in-house sparkling water available for refill.

None, really good stay.

The aesthetics in the hostel are very pleasing and the little details and designs of the interior, common areas, and terrace are beautiful. It's also clean and in a great location - close to attractions and museums, and public transit to get to other places in Tainan. The staff is also super helpful, efficient, and professional and are friendly to English-speaking guests.

The wifi in the room is a bit slow but still acceptable.

Everything about this hotel is a dream. Every staff member we encounter is very friendly and the facilities are amazing. The lovely staff take care of the space so well and it's consistently clean. The hangout spot - where the kitchen and terrace resides - is well-kept. The location is unbeatable as well. There are plenty of restaurants and sightseeing spots all within walking distance. Highly recommend this place!

No night market nearby but it's definitely not a deterrent since it's only a 15 minute car ride or 25 minute bus ride away!

unique, urban-chic vibes, reasonable pricing. My husband and I also enjoyed the check-in tour guide book and room key key card holder, it was very thoughtful and creative! The incorporation of Aesop products also added to the luxury & upscale quality of the overall stay. Enjoyed the record player too, that felt special. Though we didn't have much time, we got to enjoy the public lounge room which was very clean, beautiful, and relaxing to stay in. Will come back again next time.
