Uinn Business Hotel-Shihlin

The rooms were rather clean and the condition of furnitures are in good shape, I thought the hotel underwent some refurbishment recently. We were initially worried about the arrangement for breakfast (Cafe within Hotel is closed) but the coupons were sufficient for us to redeem reasonably delicious breakfast from nearby local outlets. There were many local food stalls, convenience shops and pharmacies nearby. Another plus is the Hotel has a coin-operated washing machine (NT$50) and a dryer (NT$50) at its B1, very good for families that are traveling for more than just a few days and needed some clothes cleaned. There's a Laundromat self-service outlet just 2-3 minutes walk away but nothing beats the convenience of having them in the Hotel. Shilin Night Market is just 10 minutes walk away.

We saw some mosquitoes in the Hotel (we chased down 1 in our room), more around in the laundry room. Although the coupon for breakfast arrangement is OK, guests would need to go outside of Hotel to redeem their breakfast. That could be quite inconvenient, especially on rainy days.

Location was clean, affordable, breakfast was provided (due to covid, restaurant was closed and guests were offered 4 small pastries and a juice box every morning), has two elevators, location is easy to get to, parking is available behind the hotel underground, there is a small gym, laundry room (broken at the time of visit), workers spoke English and were professional and kind, room was a good size for two people (double w/balcony), ac unit inside the room that you can control, cable tv available (50 channels w/ English and Chinese channels, HBO/movies, sports), instant coffee+tea & bottled waters in room, mini fridge available in the room, bidet in the bathroom. About a 10 min walk from Shilin night market and Ba Fang restaurant, 2 min walk from 7 eleven, 24 hr laundry mat, Coco and Comebuy drink shops, a grocery store. Location was in a good spot for quick pick up/drop off from friends or taxis as well as Ubereats drivers to drop off food. The sound proof was pretty good, we were by the elevator and would only hear sound if it was a child yelling or crying, did not hear people from other rooms, but could hear when there is a toilet being flushed at night.

pillows weren't firm enough for me, bathroom is a bit narrow, and the lighting in the room is a bit dim. Although breakfast pastries would rotate in variety, due to our long stay, we got tired of it quickly and ended up not getting it after a few days.

Room was a great size with views of the city and everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The hotel also gave us some breakfast coupons for a couple of places nearby and although they have a cafe downstairs that seems to be shut, it does provide lots of tables and chairs for eating in if you don’t feel like going out. We had a great stay here and would recommend for anyone wanting to stay in the Shilin district.

Only downside was that there was a bit of noise from the residents above and beside us and sometimes quite late at night which was a little annoying but we had earplugs so it was ok in the end.

We felt comfortable to stay in hotel. it is nice and clean. room design and structure is very good, separated toilet and bathroom is very convenient for 2 or 3 persons to stay. staffs are friendly and helpful. location of hotel is not bad although a bit far from MRT stations. The breakfast is given voucher to eat in nearby shops. it is good that we can choose whatever we like to eat. hotel has water dispenser (hot, warm and cold water) and wash/dry machine, it is very convenient for guests..

the room is bit small for 3 persons.

Very nice rooms. It's cozy and spacious compared to other hotels specially near Ximending. Water pressure in the bathroom is good and they have bidet🙂. Walking distance to Shilin Night Market

Would be better if the hotel served the breakfast instead of going out. Although the credit they provided for the breakfast in their partnered merchant is more than enough. It's just a bit difficult sometimes to order but they really make an effort to assist and understand your order.

The property was very welcoming as were the staff. In fact they were so helpful and cheerful that we felt like friends. Quite a few spoke good English and they were able to direct us to the places of interest that we particularly wanted to see.

The only criticism was that the breakfast was not in the hotel and we had difficulty finding the cafe that served us. once we had overcome this small problem we were extremely happy with the service.

Room was big and comfortable

No breakfast (even if you book with breakfast). They give you coupons valid 100 ntd each and you can go to small cafe near hotel to grab sandwiches, but during our stay the cafe was closed for holidays… so in fact there is no breakfast. Location is really far from metro and restaurants.

great hotel. 15 min walk to nearest mrt station. 5-10 min walk to Shilin Night Market. 15 min on mrt to Taipei main station. not exactly a central location in Taipei but it was great anyway.

cafe/restaurant currently closed because of Covid staff shortages. other than that facilities were great.

The rooms were clean and well appointed.

The breakfast was not in the hotel. I was given vouchers to two restaurants nearby. This is very inconvenient if you are short of time in the morning. I prefer to be closer to the station

it's disappointing to find out the hotel restaurant has closed down and you have to get breakfast from a nearby food store or Seven Eleven
