On arrival the receptionist was very helpful. Told us how to find the restaurant. Assured us continental breakfast would be readywhen we had to leave (5:30 am as we were catching the Ullapool ferry.)

Crazy bath-shaped showers - worst of both worlds: couldn't run a bath except by waiting for the shower to fill it, and danger of slippimg / difficulty stepping in/out, for those of us older or with mobility issues. Understaffed at breakfast time. The night porter was coping with a bus load departing for the same ferry + other guests and had not had time to start the coffee machine -for me the critical item for breakfast that early.

Really close to the ferry terminal and in the city center. If you arrive with the last ferry no problem the reception is always open and ready for the late check in (I’ve called them in the afternoon to inform them I’ll arrive late). There was also a possibility to get a little bite in the room from the kitchen has the restaurant was closed. breakfast is really good. There is a private parking just next to the hotel. I asked to make a new reservation for the end of the week as a was taking the ferry to go back on the mainland and the staff was really helpful to book me a room.

At night it can be a bite noisy but I’ve stayed 3 nights and a part from the first night the others were really calm.

The staff in the restaurant were totally brilliant, and did everything possible to help us. My friend has some food allergies, and is difficult to feed, but they definitely went the extra mile. Food was excellent, VERY comprehensive breakfast, and good choice through the rest of the day. Top restaurant. The Hotel receptionist was also very kind and helpful. Plenty of parking beside hotel

My first night was in a single ‘skylight’ room, which was a rather gloomy, and no window. I moaned to the receptionist, who kindly moved me to a much nicer room with a large window. So, beware of single, economy, skylight rooms.

Quite large and immaculate Hotel, lots of car parking, comfortable, spacious rooms, friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast buffet had the works, and some! Didn't eat in the evening but the menu was extensive and at very reasonable cost. Reception were very helpful sorting my room for an extended stay, as the early morning ferry was cancelled. I did manage to get on the afternoon one, but they kept the provisional room booking open until I confirmed the ferry had left. No charge either! A large place but customer service was superb! Thankyou.

Couldn't fault it at all!

Very nice modern and clean hotel in Stornaway, located in walking distance of Tesco and small downtown and close to ferry. Bright bedroom with sky light. Restaurant was a bright large space for breakfast and dinner, but minimal decoration or charm. Hotel was probably best facility in town.

Very pricey, but then again no real cheap hotels in Stornaway. Hotel seems built to welcome large bus tours from the mainland. Not much charm, but very clean and modern.

Central location.

The room was fine but the outlook from the window was looking onto a wall with two large ventilation ducts from the kitchens. Not what I expected from a room. The toilet was long and narrow making it difficult to get in and out of. I got the distinct impression that if you book through this site you get a substandard room. Only got one set of toiletries, never replaced during our 4 night stay.

I was very impressed with the dining room and staff there. When a ferry was cancelled due to rough seas they found themselves dealing with a coach tour more than anticipated. They just coped, very smoothly. It was very impressive to see. We also got a great view of the northern lights as there was a good display one night. We had to walk slightly out of town to get away from street lights. (Stornoway is probably the most lit-up place in the Western Isles)

Excellent variety of Food for both Breakfast and for an Evening Meal. The Hotel Bar was also good. Tescos is within 400 m of the Hotel. So too is the Harbour and Bus Station, where BUS NO W7, takes you to the Callanish Stones. Ferry entrance is Approximately 600 m from the Hotel. The Star Inn looks onto the Harbour, which is approximately 800m from the Caladh Hotel. Star Inn is worth a visit!

Leaving after 2 days!

Room was very comfortable and clean. Very helpful staff. Brilliant breakfast

My room wasn't ready when I had made my way to it .. this should have been know by reception and it was a bit of a trek to get to it then back to reception. Replacement room was good but had no outlook .. I don't think that the hotel was overly busy so a "room with a view" would have been nice. BUT, biggest bugbear (true of all 5 establishments used overnight in tour of Lewis/Harris) is that insufficient care is taken with safety in showers .. both stand-alone and over-bath. Textured baths or shower trays are not good enough for those with balancing concerns (the more elderly guests and those with a relevant health concern) .. there should ALWAYS be a good quality, very clean, and stable shower mat readily and visibly on hand.

Reasonable price. Comfortable bed and room in general. Comfortable sleeping temperature. Tea and coffee facilities in the room. Modern bathroom. Easy check in and check out. Good breakfast included.

Bathrooms were not as clean as could be in both rooms which my family stayed in. Some hairs present in bath and around toilet and sink in both bathrooms.
