It's a great little place, just a short walk from the Ferry terminal. Their restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday but there was a complimentary bowl of fruit which was a nice touch. I liked that there was a "residents lounge" which, had I stayed more than one night, I would have definitely used it more. It was quiet, comfortable and a safe place to leave my luggage after checking out for the daytime before I got my bus.

It was disappointing to discover the restaurant was closed Sunday and Monday. I had been looking forward to just staying close by but ended up walking to find food; a challenge on a Sunday as the town shuts down on this day of the week. I found the hall doors noisy around my room, and the place didn't seem very well insulated (for noise) as I could hear people talking in the corridor. The seagulls were quite annoying in the wee hours of the early morning. Earplugs in the bathroom were a dead giveaway when I got to my room so I wasn't shocked when I work up early from the sound. All in all it was a very nice place to stay, super convenient and lovely staff.

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of our honeymoon. The price was great. Room was very clean, comfortable bed. Toiletries and tea, coffee, hot chocolate and shortbread provided which was a lovely touch. Very close to restaurants, shops and the ferry terminal! We had a rental car and there were places to park nearby. The staff were lovely and helpful, checkin and checkout were a breeze. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and a drink at the bar lounge, great atmosphere, food was great and servers were very pleasant. We also had the continental breakfast (included with the booking) and was very impressed with the selection!

At night sometimes traffic and harbour activity could be very noisy due to the location downtown. They provided earplugs in the room which was great, but with the window closed it wasn't so bad so we didn't need them. It usually died down around 11-12pm. No fault of the hotel and they provided what they could to help with this 😊

Staff were friendly & helpful - allowed us to check in early after a very rough ferry crossing! The room was on the small side but freshly decorated. Continental breakfast is available from 5:30am - which is useful if you're catching the early ferry back to the mainland!

I chose to stay here because the Inn has a restaurant on site. However, this was not open on the night of my stay - although, this is understandable as the beginning of March is outside of the 'holiday season'. The Inn did message me to advise of this as soon as I had made the booking, so I was easily able to make other arrangements.

A lovely warm welcome, my single room was small but perfect, overlooking the harbour and castle, immaculately clean, good quality white bedding, comfy bed, slept well, room not too hot, window could have been opened if necessary,I was leaving at 05.00hrs ferry so had a delish continental breakfast, fresh fruit, yoghurt, croissants which I couldn't resist. First time staying here but won't be the last menu looked fab but had my own dinner with me, but will try the next time, checkout fab online pay the evening or morning before leaving. A cheery goodbye from the staff member in the morning. Parking next door to the hotel, I could see my car from my room plus 2 mins from the ferry so an extra few mins in bed - bonus!

Nothing.

Staff were excellent. Single room for one night so was good. Bed was comfortable, shower looked brand new and the water temp/pressure was perfect. Restaurant was closed for evening meal but was advised in advance so made other arrangements. Breakfast was excellent.

The only thing was ALL the floor boards creaked and the walls very thin, felt a little weird walking around room so not to make too much noise. The hallways the same. A minor gripe but was very annoying.

The staff couldn't have been more welcoming and hospitable. We felt right at home from the off and staff ensured we (and our dog) were well looked after. The hotel is tastefully decorated and has some excellent local artwork as well as numerous interesting artefacts on the walls. There was also a great selection put on for breakfast.

The bed wasn't as comfortable as I might have expected, it felt relatively "springy" and floorboards creeked throughout the room.

The girls that work there are hot and the breakfast was no bad either, would of liked fried eggs the ones on the ferry were banging sorted out the hangover so could get on it again as soon as I got there, the pub below is top notch banter couple hotties in the too, although not near as tidy as the that work in the hotel, was a top night out all round would highly recommend. See uz again next time my dog gets stolen.

Just the fried egg situation really, but I mean it’s not even that much o a big deal, the ones on the ferry tho 🤌 but I don’t really remember seeing any tidy birds working on the ferry now I’m thinking bout it so just a couple minor things really easily rectified. But still 10/10 regardless.

very warm, friendly and welcoming staff, great comfy lounge, nice cosy room with view over the harbour and excellent breakfast, friendly bar and good food - couldn't have asked for more, would really love to come back if I ever get the opportunity to return to Stornoway

the harbour can get a bit noisy with boy-racers riding around wasting fuel like they do everywhere else on the mainland, but inside the hotel it's really cosy and you're away from the noise. There are ear-plugs provided with other toiletries just in case anyway - a nice touch

..the view of the harbour from my window: I could watch the herons fishing on the shoreline; the castle view; convenient location for the ferry, town centre, taxis, parking etc

..the creaking floors! No lift. My pyjamas - please! - no touchy!! (in this day and covid age, you’d have thought the less someone touches others’ belongings, the better). I certainly did not expect my room to be entered on a Sunday: not pleased. There was a discrepancy with the bill - instead of presenting this at the first available moment, reception waited until I and another lady were rushing for the ferry: not pleased (the lady’s husband looked as if he was going to have a coronary by the time we got to the ferry).

Don’t be put off by the exterior of the building; it does look a bit drab and boxlike. Inside it is a pleasant, cosy and welcoming place to stay. From the moment we arrived to when we left all the staff very pleasant, welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Overall the Inn could benefit from a little TLC and a bit of an upgrade, however this did not takeaway from the pleasant stay we had. We ate in the restaurant at the the Inn. The menu had a good and varied choice and the food was very good and good value for money. The location was excellent, overlooking a small harbour and just a short walk from the main area of Stornaway. Would stay here again and would recommend.

As mentioned above, could do with a wee bit of an upgrade.
