Quaint old building nice decorated and updated with fire sprinklers. Not many rooms so no crush of people. Very clean and neat. Excellent price by Alaska standards

The building is made of wood (85 years old) so you do hear creaking when people walk around.

Location was great as was the staff...check-in is a bit confusing as you have to check in at their sister hotel, The Valley Inn, before you actually go to The Colony Inn, about 3 minutes away by car...we would stay there again but not in Room 2, which is a corner room on the street and next to the parking lot and back door entry...my wife was initially very concerned about the possibility of noise but this was never an issue at all, perhaps because of the quiet time of year...very impressed with the quality of the curtains as they completely balanced the fact it was light outside 24/7!!...we liked it here very much!

We wish the restaurant had been open but just sitting around the "living room" area was excellent!

This is a fairly old hotel in “downtown“ Palmer on the main street and close to everything. The hotel does not have an elevator but has only four steps to the first floor. That is the only negative and not a terribly significant one. The rooms are old and small but completely comfortable and Very clean. The hotel has an attached 24 hour restaurant which is very popular in the community and quite good. It is a classic diner, not fine dining but the food is excellent the prices are fair and the service is very good. The favility also has six coin operated washing machines and complementary dryers soap and soap. There is no swimming pool or other such amenities nor does there need to be. This is Alaska for Pete’s sake and people are not here to stay in the rooms, I hope to go out and experience the great outdoors. there is certainly a lot of that around here. I did not write this is a five star because of no elevator but otherwise it was completely acceptable, convenient and I would stay here with my wife again.

no elevator otherwise no problems at all.

Very clean, lovely old fashioned room fitting the property although I booked on first floor the steps to front door are difficult, no ramp for somreone using a walker, the shower was a large step into jacuzzi tub that I could not use. Staff great glasses and toiletries provided were nice . Guest coffee bar could be improved , never coffee when my husband went. Quiet at night lovely walks around the property and area.

Coffee bar could have been better. Taller toilet and grab bar.

Nice quaint little room, close to downtown and to the Tsunami Warning Center where I was working, comfortable. Emma enjoyed the whirlpool tub; I enjoyed the large sitting room downstairs.

No air conditioning, which would not have been a big deal except there was no way to open the bedroom window! Fortunately there was a small rotating table fan which was sufficient to let us sleep. My Alaskan friends said they only need AC about one week per year, but we were apparently there that week!

We enjoyed staying at The Colony Inn. It was very clean, well equipped, and the housekeeping staff was delightful! We stayed in the large 2nd floor Queen room. It was a very large room. We also enjoyed the main floor sitting room area. It had many historic and vintage furnishings and decorative items. We highly recommend staying here.

Nothing.

..courtesy people...bed was great so that was important to us...neighborhood was safe and quite...room was quite also...

everything was good except the light in bathroom was not working and they could not get it fixed before we left but there was a window that helped in the morning and we improvised at night...would have like if let us keep our frozen fish in their freezer like other hotels we stayed in...they only put fish in their walk in cooler...

First night in Alaska and great introduction to new experience far away from cookie cutter facilities. In site of awkward check in we rate service as friendly and outstanding. Restaurant at second location fantastic with locals for the Alaska feel; we loved the food and the genuineness and authenticity of the staff!

Just a bit awkward to find and work with second location check in and then finding the property. Room is well appointed and shower fantastic, but the room was hot until night air cooled it down. If up in years, need to request first floor room as no elevator. Super value!
