Doubletree by Hilton Phoenix Mesa

Right from the start Nicaise at the front desk was a superstar. She couldn't find my reservation but took the time to look through every reservation where she did find it. Booking.com had put my first name as my last name. When we got to our room we had an issue with the toilet leaking all over the floor, Nicaise promptly put us in another room, right next door so that we would have to move our luggage too far. The head of housekeeping, I didn't get her name, she's been there 23 years, is one of the most helpful ladies I've seen. She helped us carry our luggage to the new room (being on a 3 week mother/daughter road trip we had a lot of heavy luggage).

The leaking toilet was the first issue. Our new room the refrigerator stank, didn't work, and had dark liquid in the drawers but the housekeeper came immediately and cleaned them and offered to have a mechanic come fix it. We declined since we were leaving the next day. So there were issues with the stay but the staff offered remedies for them right away.

Check-in was quick and friendly. The location of the hotel was close to places we needed to go and close to shopping, and restaurants were walking distance. We had a suite, was nice and clean. And a big spacious room. Room was very comfortable. The housekeeping staff are doing a great job at keeping the rooms clean.

The entrance to the elevator by 528 smelled like vomit. Otherwise everything was excellent.

I liked the manager Brian his assistant (I forgot this gentleman‘s name), as well as night manager Amy and Hunter. during my stay there was some sort of teenage basketball tournament going on and 20 or so of these teenage boys were staying in the hotel. Being teenage boys they would run amok make all kinds of noise and it was very disturbing. Management and the crew did a very excellent job of trying to reign them in.

I didn’t like that I couldn’t open a window and get some fresh air. The windows are sealed.

The staff was exceptional. Brian at the front desk was great. The cleaning staff was pleasant. Clean room and two comfy queen size beds. Pool was clean. The location was perfect. Accessible to a lot of restaurants. Our daughter is a college student in the area and this is going to be our place to stay every visit.

Thr room was ckean and bathroom had been suoerficially cleaned. The staff was great and surrounding area was nice. The cookies were a nice touch.

The tub shower was old and was peeling near the drain. It did not look clean. Just couldnt bring myself to shower in it. Ended up showering in relatives house.

Amy is the best she has always welcomed me with such a beautiful smile and amazing words the new bartenders were nice but I do miss the old ones that worked there a long time also I wish you could bring back room service someday but anyway I will always stay there every time I’m in town it’s the only hotel I stay at since 2017 I look forward to seeing you all very soon thank you very much for the great service as always

I honestly don’t have anything bad to say about the property

I cannot say enough good things about the staff at this hotel, particularly the front desk manager Chris and the director of engineering, Luis. I had a crisis with my pet, who was traveling with me as we moved across country, and the staff truly went above and beyond the call of duty to not only make sure that the crisis was resolved but to communicate openly and constructively with me throughout the whole process. Outside of this crisis, the room was extremely large and comfortable and the service was wonderful, check-in and check-out was easy, and the value was great.

The crisis was caused by a problem in room design for a room designated for pets. This has nothing to do with the actual hotel staff, who were amazing and saved the day. But if you are traveling with pets, just make sure to talk to them about details first.

Everything else was amazing and memorable. My kids enjoyed everything about the hotel and how amazing it looked. The staff was helpful and kind. The bar in the middle of building looked amazing, husband and I only wished we could've enjoyed but we're exhausted from the day. We loved this hotel and wish to come back. The 2 TV's was extremely great for my family.

That there wasn't not enough towels for a 5 person stay there was only 3, luckily we brought some. Also there was no food room service due to the pandemic I was told and yet there was a breakfast buffet which we didn't partake due to sleeping in. We could not get the room to be colder at night, we used a light sheet to sleep and even then felt warmish. For an a.c building I was hoping to be freezing. There was a stain on the pull out mattress. There was allot of lightening in our bathroom do wish we could've controlled that more instead of just 1 switch for 4 lights in 1 bathroom.

very clean staff was very friendly

I was extremely disappointed to be put in a handicap suite. I was there for a Dr. appointment. my drive is 6 hours round trip. I had bandages on my leg that could not get wet. I can only take a bath, leaving my leg out of the water. I would like a discount for this inconvenience. I have stayed at the Doubletree several times. I feel that I was put in the handicap suite because I book my room with booking.com.

First of all the price was right for such a nice hotel. Open air lobby. Bar and eatery perfectly placed and easy to find. Starting at the front desk and every staff member in between; everyone was smiling behind their masks and super friendly. Beautiful building. Beautiful grounds. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Did I mention the cookies? OMG these chocolate chip walnut cookies that are not only complimentary but you can get them as often as you'd like. I think I ate cookies for breakfast, lunch and dinner for 2 days! Very nice pool area and several points of secured entry, so you can get into the building, no matter what side you park on. Loved the coffee table style book, that gives you the breakdown of the surrounding cities and the attractions and restaurants nearby. Even the TV greets you personally. I have a family trip planned for September this year and we booked an AirBNB, I told my husband, they can stay there, im coming back to the Doubletree!! Did I mention the COOKIES?

The fact that those delicious cookies weren't delivered to my door by the dozen😁
