Super 8 by Wyndham Payson

Exceptionally clean and nicely updated modern decor. Flooring instead of carpet added to feeling of cleanliness. Bed was very comfortable and though it is on a main road, we didn't hear road noise. We left later than most of the other guests so the ice machine was out, but the manager gave us some ice from her own freezer!

The included breakfast had cereal, milk, bread/toast, individually wrapped muffins, two flavors of yoghurt (regular and low fat), bananas and apples, caffeinated coffee only, apple and orange juices, and the machine to make your own hot mini waffles. Butter and jelly were in larger containers. Individual packets would be more sanitary though admittedly cost the hotel more. This breakfast did the job and was kept clean and stocked, but I do like a couple of hot items.

I had requested a upstairs room with a king size bed to avoid hearing any footsteps while I slept. I had a corner room 218 and was pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was. The ceramic flooring was a nice touch. I am glad that Super 8 has done away with carpeting at this location. I was unable to try the breakfast due to my race, the "3 Disciplines Desert Duathlon" starting early in Fountain Hills Az.

The refrigerator was broken. I discovered it once I turned on the temperature control and heard what sounded like a soft car alarm noise emanating from the motor. I used my travel cooler and their ice machine to keep my food fresh.

The room was beautiful, very large and very clean. Appreciated the non-smoking environment.

The heater was very loud. Kept waking us up during the night. The complex was quiet but not surprising since there were very few guests staying the two nights we were there. While it was nice that breakfast was included, it wasn't that appealing. Did not have much variety for different preferences. We stayed two different nights in the exact same room on February 8 and 13, both weekday nights, but were charged different rates. The hotel clerk could not explain why we paid more for the second visit. A minor inconvenience was that no soap was provided the first night. Would not recommend eating at the restaurant next door for dinner. Basically, a very high-priced fast food place. Go down the road and find something more appealing.

We only stayed for one night, and for the price it was well worth it. We woke up late and were unable to try their breakfast, but it looked like there would've been decent options. We didn't try the pool either, but it did look inviting. We had some trouble finding the establishment, but overall the location was great, very close to all the cafes and main shops in Payson. Also just FYI, the provided shampoos/soaps were nice, but the body soap left a tacky residue. Assuming we come back to Payson, we'll definitely give Super 8 another shot!

Not sure what had happened, but I had like 3 different addresses for this hotel, and we were able to find it but it wasted extra time. Booking.com had one address on their map, Apple Maps showed a different Super 8 entirely, but luckily the actual address was in the emails from the establishment. Please add a marker or something on Apple Maps, as it doesn't come up under "hotels".

The room smelt very nice upon walking in and was very clean. The AC worked very well and the water was very hot for a shower. Very pleased with our stay here.

We checked in earlier so we didn’t have a problem with it. But if we checked in later I’m not sure where we’d park. The hotel was booked for the night but there wasn’t a lot of parking for everybody.

We have been staying here for three years and it is always a joy to stay. The owner is very nice and the property is well kept, clean and safe. Breakfast at all hotels leave much to be desired these days and this property is no exception. If the rate continues to be reasonable, we plan on staying next year as well!

Good price and location.

Room had 2 lamps neither which worked (one with a burnt out bulb one that didn’t work at all. Bulb was replaced providing minimally adequate light. TV didn’t work the morning of checkout. I believe it was Satellite and with poor weather did not work.

Staff was wonderful. Gave us great suggestion on places to eat. Room was comfy.l was perfect for all the sight seeing we did. Thanks everyone!!

Not a single negative. We were taken care of in every aspect a traveler would need. Again, nothing negative in this leg of our journey. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Met my expections.

My niece sent a dozen red roses for my Birthday. They were sent a day early, when I arrived the roses were just laying on the back counter not in a container of water. I it wouldn't have taken much to put them any container with water. The result was less than I would have expected. Also the jacuzzi wasn't open.

We were able to check in early. Pool area was clean and smelled of chlorine. Fairly clean rooms. Big fridge and had a microwave.

Breakfast was a lot of bulk items and not individually packaged. Not too many choices for low carb. Sink didn't drain well and only 1 bulb in shower room. Pillows were like squishmallows.
