The Tombstone Grand Hotel

There was only brown bag breakfast which was fine. The location was perfect.

No towels in the room. Had to get our own. That's a minor negative. Stay was great

All in all, great value. Cleaner than most Best Western hotels we normally stay in while traveling. Offered washer/dryer. The check-in staff, a gentleman, was super kind; the female was very pleasant. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Due to Covid, the complimentary breakfast was reduced to a brown paper lunch bag clearly intended for preschool children. Other hotels during our trip were able to offer a hot breakfast in spite of Covid.

The best thing was the size of the room, very spacious, bathroom as well, nice and large. We enjoyed hot tub and pool very much, and sitting by the gas fire pit. Desk people and maintenance very friendly. Beautiful window seats to enjoy the nature while having breakfast. On top of how nice the grounds are to look out on at breakfast from the view windows, we got to see a wild deer out there, a true magical moment for us. We love that the nature is free to roam there, safely.

PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD TONE DOWN THOSE OUTSIDE FLOODLIGHTS!!! The brightness level is EXTREME! The hurt our eyes, and made it impossible to completely enjoy the evening outdoors, the floodlights around the buildiing are horrific. You are ruining not only our vision but the dark sky. We can't see stars from your hotel. We get that you want security but it does NOT HAVE TO BE THAT BRIGHT!!! Tone them down to a soft tone and much much less intense! And have fewer or SOMETHING PLEASE WE BEG YOU. THE LIGHTS ARE WAY TOO MUCH~!~

The property was lovely, a short distance from downtown. There was a pool and hot tub which we didn’t use as the weather was cool. There was an excellent complimentary breakfast including waffles, hard-boiled eggs, hot cereal, yogurt, muffins, bagels, cream cheese and peanut butter, juice, oranges and bananas , as well as regular and decaffeinated coffee. In the evening they showed a movie and provided popcorn.

The heating system in the room was a little hard to control. The way the bed was made meant it was difficult to pull the sheets up to your chin, and the overlap of the sheets was somewhat irritating.

The room was very comfortable, climate control worked well - very important in the over 100 degree weather at the time of my stay. The place was clean and well maintained. The staff was exceptional in their cheerfulness and helpfulness. I really appreciated the first floor room since I have difficulty with stairs.

I wish there was more breakfast variety. I would have liked some eggs and meat options. However, the yogurt and fruit I ate were quite satisfying.

It was a nice hotel very clean inside and out. The climbing roses on the covered walkway was my favorite going in. My room was clean, comfy and just what was needed after walking all day in the heat. The breakfast was a decent spread and I was pleasantly pleased with my stay.

My only complaint was my hubby and I have issues with gluten so the breakfast was ok but a protein other then peanut butter and a hard boiled egg would have been much appreciated. The waffles smelled amazing and e eople around seemed to enjoy them.

Friendly staff, when you could find them (see below)

You could not find the staff most often. They were never at the desk. They would disappear to the back office, the breakfast area, or outside smoking. Room needed maintenance. Tiles in the bathroom were loose & broken. The mattresses were coming off the rails, causing the rails to stick out. Find this the hard way. It caused injury to foot getting into bed. Furniture needs replacing or painting. The pieces are worn, chipped, and or misaligned (drawers).

The Hotel was plain simple, easy to get to. it had a pool. laundry room ice machine, nothing fancy and very very clean inside and out, the staff should be proud of this Our room had everything we needed. you could purchase laundry detergent from the hotel if needed, if they had none the local shop was only minutes away, plus the hotel can give you, change for the washing machine and tumble dryer The internet was easy to access. The staff where exceptional, the hotel provided a free breakfast plus tea and coffee and cookies in the breakfast room during the afternoons, plus on Friday nights they hold a film night with free popcorn for their guests. and it is only a 1 minute drive from Tombstone,

Ohh we enjoyed out stay but Only for a storm that arrived while we where there, there honestly would not be anything that we did not like, (its a cracking hotel, nothing fancy just extremely fit for purpose ) But on the night in question, the lovely staff had no flash lights to check the hotel, only their mobile phones, which isn't the best thing to use for lighting, as the phone should only be use in case of an emergency. the emergency lighting went out at 1 side of the building, so the other side was dark, We lent the desk staff 2 torches so they could use them to help people to there rooms during the power cut. ( maybe buy a few emergency lanterns and torches for staff,)

The pool is always fun and the fire pit is nice during cold months.

This is the only place that we stay at when we visit Tombstone. We try to visit once a year to refresh and get away from home for a bit. The only thing that I was disappointed with was the breakfast. There’s not much variety as there used to be. it’s nice to have a hot breakfast other than waffles. I would also suggest having at least some cereal for the kids. Even some bagels and cream cheese would be good. We miss the fresh baked cookies too at check in :(. Either way, we will be back to stay in the future just because we love the hotel.

Room was very large and staff were friendly and helpful. Just a few minutes drive to downtown Tombstone.

Just 2 minor suggestions. Our room could have used a floor light near TV viewing area. TV screen is fairly small for such a large room and we found ourselves moving the 2 wood chairs up close for viewing but all the lighting is in opposite direction beside bed. Second minor suggestion is to add something like scrambled eggs to breakfast offerings.
