New Gardena Hotel

This hotel has alot going for it as it's around 15-20 mins drive to the LAX airport. We mainly looked for a hotel that was convenient to get to the airport but we realised that it had a lot more to offer. Finding a hotel in LA with secure parking is a premium and this hotel offers that as part of their price. On top of that there was also a choice of Japanese or American breakfast that was complimentary. There quite a few place to get food around the area in particular Japanese and Korean. We tried a few places and the Chinese seafood restaurant as well as a bento place across the street is amazing as well as the fresh buns at the mini food court in the Japanese supermarket across the street. Tip: You can get sushi at discount prices late afternoon. Shower was powerful as well as the light heater in the bathroom was amazing. I also love the huge mirror by the sink area as it felt like a separate room from the bedroom and bathroom. Many people have commented on the bidet, so I'm not going to ;) The bed had one of the best mattresses I slept on during my trip! We requested a change in the room as something was not maintained and without hesitation the receptionist kindly found us another room. I think that says a lot about their service as they handled it promptly. It was also amazing that we could get hot and cold water, tea and coffee by the reception area.

Probably not a fault of theirs but there was a fire alarm in the morning on day. We didn't want to take the elevator and so we took the back stairs but it was very dusty. Some of the ceiling boards could be maintained better and perhaps better use of space in the entrance as it looks tired.

The hotel is very clean and all the staff are masked even though it is recommended and not mandatory any longer. The parking is underground and behind a security fence making break-ins less likely. It feels very safe in the hotel and parking area. The rooms are clean and furnished nicely. Toilet has a bidet (Toto brand) which is a nice touch and the water flow in the shower is good. Lastly the area is centrally placed to lots and lots of wonderful asian restaurants and stores.

While most of the restaurants in the area are open for dine in, the restaurant at the hotel (Happa Restaurant) was only open for take out or patio dining which is noisy with the street traffic. Also the gym is closed. Other hotels I have stayed at offer a sign up sheet to use the gym alone.

Free bento from Hapa Restaurant (lunch/dinner). Clean hotel, quiet, friendly - Japanese hotel & restaurant. Masks required. Free parking. 24 hr front desk. Laundry service available, microwave on each floor by ice machine. Free coffee/tea downstairs in lobby. Tokyo Central and other eateries right across the street. The area is comfortable and the demographic has a nice variety that it feels similar to home (Hawaii). Also love having a bidet, a shower/tub, good size vanity area, desk, and single couch in the room.

Just patiently waiting for their fitness center and pool to reopen - closed for covid concerns which is understandable

The room was large, very clean and comfortable. The choice of complimentary American or Japanese-style breakfast every morning was appreciated.

There is no tea/coffee facilities in the room but they are available at the reception area 24/7. The location is close enough to the airport but not very convenient for public transport. Very central if you have your own vehicle or are happy to use Uber.

Great service, comfortable beds, clean hotel, good size bathroom with a Japanese toilet which is an added bonus, large closets and plenty of drawer space. A desk. Hotel has a restaurant on site--Happa Restaurant -- bento box far exceeded our expectations. Great location for Japanese foods. Walking distance to Tokyo Central, Sakae Sushi, Kotohira Restaurant etc, Never felt cramped in the room. Also there's a gated parking lot underground. A lot of nice touches. Friendly and helpful management -- there was so much personal touches. Thank you so much.

We were on the 5th floor -- our room was somewhat noisy since it faced a busy street; however, we were still able to sleep well. Patio / porte-cocheres has a smoking area with tables and ashtrays but no non-smoking area.

The staff was really friendly, we stayed a week and we received a free bento everyday, everytime we came back from our outing the room was cleaned and resupplied with everything. We were a little scared about the location but the neighborhood was really calm and cute. There is 2 grocery store nearby, really convenient!! They also have a private parking. You feel really safe and comfortable staying there :)

Great value and the room was very clean. All staff were friendly. Excellent shower, good water pressure, heated toilet seat, and large vanity area. Easy access to major freeways (405 and 110). If you have a rental car, go through the automatic gates at the basement and then go up 2 ramps. This is the best parking for direct entry to the hotel (no stairs/lift required). There's a nearby Target too.

They substituted great Bento boxes for the breakfast, which wasn't available. The heated toilet/bidet was fabulous. Nice view from the window, polite staff. Covered parking was a plus. Very comfy beds.

No gym although it was advertised. Stairwells were locked, we had to take the elevator just to go down one floor. Some confusion when we checked in, but it worked out okay.

It was very clean, comfy beds, nice pressure of the shower (almost like a massage shower head), friendly staff and I felt safe on the property. Also we got free delicious bento dinners every night in leu of breakfast that they no longer serve.

Sometimes it was stuffy in the hallways of the rooms.

exceptionally clean, very nice and spacious room, lovely staff. Japanese owned and well run. didn’t do breakfast as advertised but replaced it with choice of bento box lunch or dinner. lots of Japanese restaurants in local and some small malls.

did advertise swimming pool but that was not open ( might be covid related.
