SureStay Hotel by Best Western Santa Monica

The room was very clean and looked as if it was renovated not to long ago. We were surprised how quiet it was even though there is quiet some traffic in front of the hotel. Being so close to the "Interstate 10" was great because we were able to get to our destinations fairly quickly (for example Santa Monica 10 mins, Venice 15 mins, Getty Center 20 mins). A lot of comments/ reviews talk about the poor breakfast... However our expectations were exceeded. For American standards the breakfast buffet has a lot to offer: there are bagels, toasts, cereal, fruits (apples & bananas), juices, coffee, tea, boiled eggs, pancakes and yogurts. Parking is free. There are three parking lots. We never had any trouble finding a spot. Great value. Would go back there next year! PS: For European travellers on a budget, we can recommend Ralphs grocery store in the area. They have a great selection (good bread) and good prices. In addition, we were initially worried about parking around Santa Monica and Venice Beach. The prices vary depending were you park. However there is always enough space.

We arrived early for our stay but the front desk kindly let us store our bags (note there is limited space for this so it's not guaranteed). Ray on the front desk was very welcoming and helped us with directions and things to see in the area as it was our first time visiting. Easy 5 min drive to downtown Santa Monica or the Pier. it was also an easy drive to the airport from here which was handy. Rooms were a good size, much more modern than they looked from the outside which was a nice surprise. Continental breakfast was very good and the hotel was clean and tidy

I emailed ahead to request an early check in and was told this should be possible, but on the day we arrived it was not possible. But in the end it was fine as we were allowed to store our bags and there is an off road car park so we felt fine to leave our luggage and car

Liked the location.near to plenty of eateries ,Santa Monica Pier and close to the freeways to attractions and airport...rooms were clean..beds made up and clean towels everyday. american pancakes and continental breakfast was great ....also washing and drying facilities and plenty of parking...

The vending machine was really overpriced...but there was a supermarket just next door

The housekeeping staff was exceptional. Very professional and courteous. Asked for a few extra bath towels... and they bring me 6 fresh warm towels. And with a smile on his face. Compliments to the housekeeping staff. This customer appreciates you.

The front desk personalities need some work. They appear to work in a silo and dont recognize current guests standing, waiting patiently to ask a question.... Word of advice; acknowledge the guest, tell them you are helping someone, and I'll be right with you as soon as I can. Appreciate your patience, customer. Thank you.

Good location for Santa Monica, Venice Beach and LA. we really enjoyed our stay, breakfast is good if not excellent. the staff friendly and helpful. We had room 418 on the upper floor and it was quiet and roomy, with a reasonable kitchen. There is a laundry downstairs you need it. Ask for a room away from the road to avoid unnecessary noise.

The parking is not close to this room and there is no elevator, so if you have luggage ask for a downstairs room.

This is a neat little Hotel just 10 mins away by car from Santa Monica Beach. There is a Whole Foods nearby and a Trader Joe‘s right next door if you need to grab some stuff. The Room was absolutely tidy and nicely decorated with a fridge and microwave and a little machine to make coffee and tea. We had a room to the courtyard which was very nice with possibilities to sit and relax outside you could even make your own BBQ if you wanted to. The breakfast was american continental, i.e. Oatmeal, Bagels, cereal, Pancakes and fruits, so plenty of food to start the day with. So yes, can highly recommend this place and would come back again.

Best Western keeps an effective management system, everything was top standard. Taking into effect that the hotels close to my event hotel in Santa Monica demanded between 300 and 2.000 US dollars a night, the price/night including taxes (there is a 46 dollar city tax for LA/California) was excellent and affordable for the simple/normal business Traveller. People at reception nice, bright and helpful. Would go back there next year.

The room was a good size and updated. The bathroom and kitchenette were nice too. They also had a gate to get to the building which was nice to have. Breakfast had a lot of options considering it was continental.

The one parking lot was very difficult to get out of. Some of the pillows were uncomfortable but there were enough that this wasn’t an issue. The walls were very thin and it was easy to hear everything outside, even though it’s a quiet street.

Staff is super friendly and helpful. There is free parking space and very good wifi. The room has a very comfortable, big, bed, a coffee maker, tv, closet, desk and bathroom with a very nice shower and bathtub. The surroundings are great. There are various electric bikes and scooter services via app around, stores and good restaurants at walking distance. It was a 30 minute bike ride to the Santa Monica pier. The neighbourhood is lovely. It was a good stay for myself who travelled alone and without a car.

The walls are very thin so the stay was very noisy. It was not a big problem during the evening, but I was working in my room during the day and there was a lot of noise around, nothing that really troubled me, but worth noting. Also, my bedroom was at street level and the windows faced the parking lot and a working shed, so I did not have much privacy (there are shades in the windows and blecaute curtains, though). The bedroom is not very big, but it was ok for one.

My mom, sister and I took a mother-daughter trip and enjoyed our stay at SureStay. It was equidistant from LAX and Koreatown, and near the Santa Monica pier. We really appreciated the friendly and attentive staff, and the free and convenient parking. Our courtyard room required a key card to enter, so we felt extra safe. Trader Joe's is on the next block, so we were able to walk over to get some water and snacks.

I thought the property was a short walk to the pier. It was my mistake, but I was a little disappointed that it was actually a 5-10 min drive. The immediate area surrounding the property did not feel very safe, with many shuttered businesses. The hotel itself was nice and clean, however.
