Ocean Park Hotel

property was really clean and frequently being cleaned. and the staff were mostly friendly. great wifi and great location to motorways, central LA, attractions and the beach. really handy having a fridge in the room. great price as well and the car park was a great bonus as parking is confusing if you aren’t from LA

beds were uncomfortable but it is a hostel so comes with the territory. - one office staff member was quite friendly but the rest were a bit grumpy and unapproachable. they also weren’t there at posted hours so asking them for assistance wasn’t always possible.

Bedroom and Bathrooms very clean. Even though there were only two showers and two toilets on the floor, I never had to wait and there was always a cubicle free. + clean towels + always quite during the night Great area + great little restaurants and a Trader Joe’s in walkable distance + 10$ Uber to get to Santa Monica and Venice + 20-30$ Uber to get to the walk of fame

For two people with a lot of stuff the room is a little small. For a short stay (4 days) it’s ok though.

Very simple hotel. The corridors were well decorated. Great communication to make sure we are aware the showers and toilet are communal. The front desk clerks were very accommodating of us arriving an hour early and leaving our bags for a couple of hours after check out.

The beds provided no back support. I probably wouldn't book another hotel with communal bathrooms. People had a party in the corridors Friday night and we're very loud starting at 6 o'clock every morning. The showers didn't lock, which as a woman is terrifying.

I loved that the property had a parking. The area is adorable and just behind the hostel there's a coffee van where to grab breakfast (the girls working there are kind and helpful).

As the bathrooms are shared, there's always that discomfort, but they were clean. Good thing was that we had a sink in the bedroom. One thing I didn't like is that there's not proper curtains in the bedrooms so there'a a lot of light and noise comes from both the street and the corridor. The property provides you with earplugs, but the light was an issue.

The room is functional and clean. The shared bathrooms are kept clean too. The price is very cheap and staff were very helpful and friendly. We had a change of circumstance and had to extend our stay and they let us use the same room and it was done in a matter of minutes. Then, after another change of circumstance we had to cut the extended stay short and they refunded the price of the unused rooms instantly. Very impressed.

The rooms are very functional, they have no bells and whistles and some dated furniture but the bed was clean and works very well as a base from which to travel out during the day being just a room to sleep in. Saying this, the price reflects this and was worth it.

Amazing and accommodating and communicative staff. The staff really assisted with my transition moving back to Los Angeles for work. They matched rates, waive some unnecessary credit card holds when my stay needed to be extended, and were helpful from assisting in my parallel parking when the lot was full, to helping me with the key drob and ensuring my safety on site by allowing use of the private shower. Absolutely exceeded my expectations. I have recommended this "hostel" to my friends and family because it truly is exceptional. Thank you, Ocean Park Hotel! No AC but with enough cross breeze and fans and in a safe enough area to have windows open until bedtime. The parking lot was full but staff assisted in figuring this out and it was easy, and the clientele was cool and respectful despite the hotel being fully booked.

all the basics were available, microwave, sink in the room, refrigerator. The location was great to get around by bike. Shared bathroom was clean and mostly available.

water was not draining in one of the showers in the shared bathroom and I also could not figure out how to lock one of the toilet doors. Otherwise the shared bathroom was always clean and hot water was great.

This small hotel used to be life guard quarters and there are lots of cool photos. The location is excellent with many shops and restaurants within walking distance. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Everything was clean including the large shared bathrooms which generally were empty. The wifi worked well sayer

The furnishings are a bit sparse and second hand. An extra power outlet would help with all the chargers we deal with these days.

The hotel is half the price of its competition for two reasons: the walls are paper thin and there are (very clean) shared bathrooms. Presumably folks staying here do their research and understand what the trade offs are! As long as you understand why the hotel is so affordable you’ll be fine.
