Malibu Beach Inn

I was unsure of booking this hotel as it is on a main road, has no pool and is quite pricey, however from the moment we arrived, the service was excellent. The hotel room (premier oceanview) was really spacious and luxurious with a great view directly over the ocean. The room had all the little details that make a great hotel; a well stocked mini bar and loads of snacks, the best coffee machine that I have come accross, a fireplace and a WC that had a heated seat. The staff were very helpful, booking restaurants and offering suggestions of places to visit. I think this is probably the best located hotel in Malibu and I would love to visit again someday soon!

I liked it all except the 70usd charge for carparking for two days. The only advice I would give, would be to not charge guests for this service which should be included in the room rate

I had a wonderful stay at Malibu Beach Inn! The hotel facilities were truly exceptional. The location right on the beach is absolutely stunning, and the views from the rooms are breathtaking. The rooms themselves are elegantly decorated and extremely comfortable, making it a perfect place to relax and unwind. The staff at the hotel were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that every aspect of my stay was enjoyable. One of the staff who greeted myself and my sisters was called Realda - she was the most welcoming and made my sisters birthday so special. She even gave us the most delicious homemade cookies along with towels to take to the beach. Her energy and aura was incredible. Her attention to detail was unmatched & her knowledge of the local malibu area gave us more things to do on our itinerary. We will be visiting again 100%!

Absolutely nothing!

A lot of thought had gone into the detail of the hotel and the room was stylish with a lot of nice finishes…. lovely bed linens towels etc ….extras such as binoculars were a nice touch…. good size balcony and you are right on the beach…. easy access via terrace…food is good but like a lot of California expensive…. always find it annoying to pay for breakfast…. good choice though…. staff are wonderful very kind and always happy to help

Some areas are being renovated ie rooms on our floor…. there are a few areas that are looking tired in the dining area the sofas are stained the same as the footstool in our room

The staff were incredible - everyone made me feel very special as I was staying there for my birthday. The bath products are amazing and the in room fireplace was my favorite part. The view from the restaurant is unbeatable - I definitely recommend getting a dinner reservation about 30 minutes before sunset. You won't be sorry.

The coffee is pretty terrible unfortunately but everything else (food, wine, dessert) are wonderful. The only two downsides to my stay were that the King Pier room just overlooks a parking lot but if you can get over that, the view of the pier is beautiful. Maybe the top level would be better for avoiding seeing the parking - the photos online are very photoshopped and don't show the parking lot. The other downside was not the hotels fault but Booking.com lists that every room has a bathtub but they do not, only a shower - as stated on the hotel's website. Wish this was updated since it was something I was really looking forward to.

Everything was superb you truly cannot improve a single thing it is already excellent ! Whatever I say to describe this hotel will not be enough !!! I simply adore everything about this place and I absolutely love every single staff member - we stayed here 3x in 5 short weeks the first time for 6 days, the second time we came it was 5 days and the last stay was three days so imagine - 14 days out 45 we were here ! So I’ll try to describe why we love it so .. the bartenders serve the most delicious drinks, they are charming and tell great stories, the food was incredible every morsel I ate better than the last , your front desk staff , friendly and knowledgeable , your wait staff ( well let’s just say if they are ever in Miami they are welcome to stay in my home as dear friends ) the valet guys oh my gosh!!! I can’t even explain — it was like running into your cousins by the second visit we stayed they had remembered us and every detail of our travels - they even asked how our son was doing at school ! I can’t begin to describe what a fabulous gem this hotel is - in fact I stayed at three other nearby hotels including the Loews Santa Monica and the Surfrider inn and I can tell you when in Malibu I will never stay anywhere but here at the Malibu Beach Inn - absolutely fabulous in every way !!!

From the moment we arrived at the property, we knew it was going to be a top notch experience! The cleanliness and beauty of the property, the ease of checking in, the friendliness of the staff and the food options on the property were outstanding. The commode in the restroom really made the stay stand out! Unique and a nice amenity. The turn down service was prompt and quick, room service was prompt and the food was delicious. The pricing was reasonable for a property of this caliber. And the water and complimentary chocolates made a huge positive impression. Extraordinary. The ocean view, private beach, quiet property even in proximity to the very loud main road. We will strive to make this an annual stay!

There's really nothing not to like at this property. I would have liked to know the food delivered to the room was so much. We would have ordered less and wasted less food. 5 star excellent all the way around!

I recently treated my mother and daughter to an overnight stay at the Malibu Beach Inn. We had a one bedroom suite overlooking the Pacific Ocean. My mother and daughter slept in the bedroom and I had the sofa bed which was surprisingly comfortable. The room was so cozy and the views were incredible. Falling asleep to the sounds of the ocean was perfect! We also had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant downstairs - standard California fare and the staff was lovely. The entire team made this such a wonderful experience.

i like the beach front access and that the hotel is close to a bunch of different places nearby. The view is great. The beds and shower were also great.

the room was a bit dirty and there was construction during our stay so half the time the elevator was out of service and there was always noise in the morning of construction and things dropping above our hotel room.

MBI is a beautiful, boutique hotel in a fantastic location. The finishings are lovely - as is the staff. Great attention to detail!

It’s a very small thing - but oddly annoying. There were no hooks in the room - or even a spot to hang a towel. We love their environmental option to pass on having the sheets changed daily but we couldn’t do much to re-use a towel as the only place to put it was on the floor.

The rooms are very comfortable, the staff is accommodating, the views are spectacular and the location is lovely. The private beach is a nice place to spend a few hours.

Service in the restaurant is on the slow side and the food is good but not great, so you are really paying for the ambiance, which is spectacular. The hotel itself is very expensive and parking is $36 per day, but you get what you pay for and it's worth the splurge.
