Comfort Inn Marina on the Monterey Bay

We had a very comfortable and pleasant stay. We didn't interact with staff other than a quick check in and check out at the front desk, but we had reason to contact the hotel before our stay and the lady we spoke with was very pleasant, professional, and helpful. Our king suite, though basic, was clean, spacious and quiet. The small couch was comfy with lumbar pillows and combo footstools/coffee table. The bed was also very comfortable with silky soft bedding and plenty of pillows of varying degrees of softness. The bath was stocked with the usual basics, and we had plenty of towels. The windows opened to let in the fresh sea air. Since we were both eating low carb, we did not make much use of the breakfast, although boiled eggs and scrambled eggs with bacon and sausage were available. Pancakes, toast, cereals, yogurt, orange juice, etc. were also available, along with coffee. Restaurants in Marina were pretty basic, but nearby Seaside has many options. All in all, it was a great stay and definitely we would stay there again.

The breakfast needs to be better. I have gotten used to more of a hot breakfast at most hotels especially at the price range of this one.

The location is great, right off the highway and shops across the street. (7-11 and Walmart across the street for any shopping needs. Monterey is just a few minutes drive down the highway) The area is quiet. Only a few minutes walk away from Marina State Beach so that was an awesome perk.

The place could use a little bit of a renovation, especially with a new hotel being constructed right next door. The "hot breakfast" was a let down with what it was. The breakfast was few items together not an actual hot breakfast. There is a Denny's around the corner so it's not the biggest issue.

I liked the convenience of fridge, microwave, and hair dryer.

Shower head needs hard water removed. Luggage cart works but could be freshened up a bit.

We only ate breakfast one time out of the 4 opportunities. The powdered eggs were a turned off. Location of the area was perfect.

What I didn't like was the the Walls of the room were too thin. An example; a couple living next to our room, as they were having Sex, the noise was too loud like they were just in the same room as us.

Good location, nice clean and big rooms, friendly and helpful staff, and quiet location . Location is not far from all the places we went in the area that for our extended weekend anniversary trip.

Breakfast offerings could have been better. We were looking for hot and satisfying breakfast and was disappointed by limited options (microwaved sausage egg & cheese bagel). Ended up doing breakfast elsewhere.

Lacked staff for breakfast restocking/refills. More trash cans needed in that area. Not fair expecting the front desk clerk to take care of both areas.

Quiet and clean. Great amenities with good around a short distance drive.

No kettle for boiling water. Hot or cold water not easily available. The morning breakfast varieties is real too simple.

Location was good because everything was nearby, there’s a Walmart right across the street which is a huge plus. Breakfast was alright, due to COVID they only had pre packaged foods like little yogurts and pastries but not bad for free breakfast. I had a king suite and it was very clean and comfortable. Staff was nice and friendly, easy check in and check out. Overall a great place for the price!

I liked the breakfast. The hotel was clean you can tell the cleaning lady takes her job serious. she rocks!

I don’t like the fact they don’t have a better discount for travel nurses. especially on the weekends.
