Motel 6-Marina, CA - Monterey

I liked that it was close to the beach. It was good for the value. The beds were comfortable enough and the room was clean. There was no room service, but we didn’t need it really. We weren’t in the room a whole lot.

I have to point out im very picky about showers and tubs. If ur like me, u WONT like the shower situation. There was NO water pressure. It felt like I was taking a shower with a watering can. I had to take a bath instead and it’s pretty small. Also, the radiator didn’t work well.

The property was located close to the beach. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Room was small but clean. The only thing I can complain about was a sweat odor on one of the beds. Seemed to me like housekeeping did not change the covers on one of the beds. Other than that, everything was fine. Rooms have no refrigerator, so if you need to keep your beverages cold, take your own cooler. A Denny’s restaurant is right next door so it was very convenient for a late night dinner or early breakfast. We will be booking another stay in this hotel soon.

Clean and neat motel. Very helpfull and nice staff. Beautiful, well maintained central garden with a place to sit and/or eat. Close to main road and to the beach :) And you can stay with your pets!

There's a laundry room with vending machines. So you can get a quick snack or bottled drink, also ice. But nothing to make/get hot coffee or tea. Even if you have a microwave in your room (I spoke with our neighbour, who didn't have one), there are no cups/mugs to make any. The upside: Denny's diner is right next to the motel, so you can buy some there (or eat almost any time of day).

Walking distance from Walmart and the beach. Room was nice and clean. Cleaning staff were always nearby if we needed anything. There was also washers and dryers to clean laundry. Vending machines with a good variety of beverages. Towels were white and well kept. Room had no odors like some hotels.

There was no mini-fridge to keep things cold. No coffee pot or way to make hot water, no microwave oven to heat things up.

Last minute booking for the Labor Day weekend, Sunday night, Monday check out. Elevated costs due to holiday but that's the norm everywhere. The only place I could book where we could stay with 3 dogs. Staff let me check in early and I was able to upgrade last minute to a ground level floor so it all worked out great. Beds not that comfortable, but whatever, it's just to sleep overnight. Easy access location right off Reservation Road with beach access minutes away. It fit the bill. If traveling with pets, you really can't beat it. Fancy? No. Practical? You bet. Friendly staff? Absolutely. I'd stay here again.

Mattress not that great

Regeena, Gen Mgr, and Mirako, Jessica & Wilson, Front Desk Agents, rendered exceptional guest service. They greeted travelers w/a respectful attitude, warm welcome, and high standard of professionalism. Check-in was quick. Moreover, Regeena, Gen Mgr, took immediate and decisive action to provide a reasonable accommodation for my service-connected disability. The hotel is located in close proximity to the beach, shopping, and Monterey. The room rate very reasonable.

¹ The cable tv was out of service for 24h until the cable service provider was able to respond. ² No housekeeping service. The front desk will provide clean towels & soap upon request. But, you have to carry your own trash to the dumpster. ³Both washing machines were out of order!

Attractive complex on a hill with some shrubs and flowers.Residential neighbourhood felt safe.Only one sketchy man hanging around and security guard got him to leave.Police car patrol followed.Interior courtyard you could ask for your room to open to if you didn’t want to park in front of your room.Room was nicer than most Motel 6 and although small,well planned and equipped.

Walking distance to only one restaurant,Denny’s on site.No stores.

They people in the office are very nice :) Happy to direct travelers to fun things in the area And the property itself is nice, we haven't had any crazy problems at all.

The toilet lid screw was broken, so the seat slid around when you needed it. Lol easy fix and I let the staff know. There was someone else's wet wash rag hanging on the shower curtain rod when we got into the room. (I checked all other towels to make sure they were clean, I think that 1 was forgotten during cleaning.) And I've gotta say, my 2nd time here and still. Walking around the hotel room with no socks will turn your feet black. It doesn't look like they sweep or mop between guests?

Convenient to the location we were going. Great place to access Monterey and Carmel areas. Easy in and out processing. Awesome Staff at the front desk!

Ok...so the toilets need to be updated, meaning the whole toilet. The seat was almost broken. I saw maintenance guy walking out of a room close to ours with a toilet seat in his hand. The toilet flush settings are also not correct for the fill and evac of water. From a business stand point...toilets are a cheap upgrade.

The room matched the photos I saw on the website, the bed was very comfortable, and the walk in shower was very nice. Parking was always available, the location was easy to find a d right off the freeway.

The people above the room I was in were pretty loud and I could hear the steps going around very distinctly. And the drive up to the hotel has some rough bumps. It was a little pricey but for being a single bed room.
