Mount Shasta Resort

The location is beautiful, and the rooms were comfortable. We stayed in the Woodland rooms, not the Chalet. Their front desk is super responsive, and someone was there in minutes when we asked for a fresh set of towels. We loved that there were empty tennis courts, but we were there mid-week before the summer rush. We also loved the restaurant. The food in Mt Shasta is so expensive, so we thought the hotel restaurant would be overpriced as well, but it wasn't bad. The restaurant has a lovely deck overlooking the golf course, with an amazing view of the mountain.

There is no lobby with coffee, and town is a car ride away. The rooms should be better equipped with coffee/tea/hot water in order to allow for decent coffee in the morning. Be sure to bring your own body lotion and conditioner, as there is none offered in the rooms.

We loved our short stay at Mount Shasta Resort. Wish we could stay longer to enjoy spa services and try a restaurant on site, maybe another time :) We found a swimming beach area within Lake Siskiyou campground facilities and paid $3 per person to use it. It’s about 2.5 miles from our chalet. Restaurant’s menu was appealing but we didn’t have a chance to try it. Loved the chalets style accommodations, very private.

There were tons of mosquitoes around the chalet, understandably due to the lake location. Every time you open the door, they just storm inside. At some point during check in, we got hundreds of them inside. But we called room service and they came quickly, sprayed everything with Raid and wiped clean and even left Raid bottle for us to use. We never got bitten during our stay. Wish they had breakfast even if not free but available during breakfast hours.

What breakfast? Fabulous location.

I called to see if I could come in a day early. I wasn't able to get a room so I just kept the original reservation. Fine. What I did not like was the attitude of the person I spoke with. I was not made to feel welcome or valued. She was rather..... snobby. (to put it nicely). Then, when I sent my 20 year old daughter to the front desk to inquire of an early check in, she encounter4ed the same feeling of lack of appreciation and welcome. The facility is certainly very nice and I don't mind paying the higher rate than other properties in the area, but I would be more inclined to give my business to those that value and welcome my patronage. I thought you should know.

The location is beautiful and peaceful, with a view off the back porch of what we thought was a river, but turned out to be the lake. Having a full kitchen to use and a nice bathroom for showers was very helpful. It was a clean, good-sized space, perfect for our overnight stop.

There were five of us (two adults and three kids), and only two beds. It was fine to have our girls share a bed, but it would have been nice if either a cot or bedding had been left out for the couch for our son. We did find a blanket in a closet and he was fine; it just felt a little strange to have to hunt for a way to make him a bed.

The location is unbelievable. Great view of Mt. Shasta and right on the bank of Lake Siskiyou. The chalet we stayed in had double queen beds and it was a very big room. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The food in the restaurant as well as the service were top notch. Don’t expect a 5 star hotel experience at this property, this is an outdoor experience so it has more of a rustic feel. You will have big trees all around you and just a very natural and beautiful and almost surreal experience.

We had an issue with the room keys but management was very apologetic and they made it right.

There were gorgeous views of MT SHASTA from the restaurant. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Directions to the Chalet helped us find it and we were pleased by the location by the lake.

The AC made so much noise that we could not get a good night's sleep. We tried adjusting it -- and even turing it off -- but the unit in our room (or the one next door) kept cycling on and off, and we could not sleep well. We were so disappointed, because we had a long drive home the next day. Otherwise, the Mt. Shasta Resort would RATE a 10+ from us!

The staff was great— very friendly and helpful; the room (double queen) was spacious and very clean with two comfortable easy chairs. The decor could use some updating but everything worked just fine and we loved the forest setting, with easy access to the lake trail. My husband and I did 2 short lovely hikes, one in each direction from the room. Wi-fi was excellent!

The shower head sprayed water every which way and there was only one luggage rack (we don’t like having to put a suitcase on the floor). The heater was a little loud—it woke me up (but not my husband) every time it came on in the night.

My wife liked that a massage was available near lodge/cabin, which she enjoyed. Location is great as near Mt Shasta. We drove up the mountain which the access road was nearby. Lodge food and view of mountain was very nice. Front desk was helpful getting us situated and very friendly. Cabins were larger than they first appear and nice walking path right behind. Nice to have a laundry building near cabin.

Getting off I-5 to lodge (check-in) on back roads was a little confusing as sign has you go through housing development, fortunately Google maps got us there. Suggest more or better signs to lodge and cabins. Also bigger porcg on back door space would be nice.

The staff was friendly. The chalet was wonderful like a small home with everything we needed. The living room was comfortable and spacious. Nice kitchen we cooked dinner in. I did bring a cooler full of food. It had a spacious bathroom. The lake was across the street from this chalet. I booked a massage ahead of time from my visit and it was one of the best massages I have ever had. I love this place.

The bed was a bit hard. I still wish we could have stayed longer.

We stayed in a "chalet" in the woods about 1/2 mile from the main building. The chalet had its own full kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bathroom. Nature trails were available near the building with private parking.

Upon arrival, we were told that both dinner and breakfast service at the restaurant would not be available. The resort was obviously designed more for those staying several days and taking advantage of golf and tennis.
