The Brick Boutique Hotel

Incredible boutique hotel in the heart of downtown Oceanside. Being able to self check-in was a great amenity. We simply walked in the front door, took the elevator up to our floor and used the door code emailed/texted to us to access the room. Once inside, we found our parking pass with a convenient map to the hotel’s off-site lot. The room was spotless & the decor was beautiful. My husband and I loved that there was a restaurant, rooftop bar, beer garden and cocktail lounge all connected to this little 10-room property. We tried every spot & throughly enjoyed them all. We didn’t touch our car the entire stay as there were so many options in the area. We will be back!

The firm bed, the minimalist decor, live plants, the frequent update via texts, the convenience of the key pad, the screen monitor with local information and to self check in/out, and the parking pass.

Wish there was at least one USB outlet/plug for phone charging and wish we stayed on a day the oyster bar was open.

Its pretty noisy! More noise than we expected. We were in 302 across from the lift which meant we kept hearing people come out of the lift, we heard the people next to us and their child till 1 am in the morning. The walls are thin! It meant our first night was not a restful one, especially hard given we were jetlagged from our flight from Australia. The restaurant below and roodtop bar noise was contained, didn't really hear anything from there until the rooftop closed down and then you would hear them moving chairs and closing down. Tip: the Samsung TV remote is the least intuitive I have ever encountered, couldn't figure out how to turn down the TV ! After a very responsive text from the property and a you tube video they sent me it turns out you need to "toggle" the button. 😊

I love the property. Love the location it’s convenient that it’s there’s a bar upstairs there’s a restaurant downstairs. You know you have everything at your disposal. You’re at the heart of basically Oceanside you can walk to the beach if you want to at night go see the sunset. It’s just beautiful and amazing has an amazing view. The rooms are very clean and I was very impressed on like the TV situation in the bathroom situation very impressed. It was a very wonderful time. I am looking forward to booking this hotel again in the near future probably be next week the only thing. I wish that this hotel Deb was like monthly Steve if they had like a flat rate for like the entire month of whatever they had available at that time or you know that would be nice for people that are doing long distance, traveling, business traveling, and Jess quinoa leisure stay for like a whole month that would be nice if you could run out the room for a month month month at a time.

I loved that you could just walk straight to the beach you could go walk the pier you were around so many restaurants are so many stores. The upstairs had a bar the downstairs had a restaurant. It was just very very convenient.

The location was phenomenal! We were a short walk from the beach and a variety of restaurants. We really enjoyed the rooftop bar and the coffee shop attached to the hotel. The building itself was both beautiful and historic. Our room had a nice balcony. Again, the location was unbeatable - we were able to walk to everything we wanted to do during our stay!

The entire third floor is directly under the rooftop bar. During our stay the bar played very loud dance music from sunset to midnight. It was pretty loud in our room. This was okay for us since we are night owls but it was unexpected and the hotel should have made the noise level more clear.

We LOVED everything about The Brick Hotel!! the location. staff and facility were exceptional!! We have stayed several places in Oceanside and this hotel beat them all hands down! even the price was very affordable!! you can walk everywhere and if you come on Thursday you’ll be able to walk down the steps out the door to the Sunset Market!! it’s AWESOME!! the Market has live music. food from all over the world and retail booths! it the perfect setting!! we will DEFINITELY be back!! The. communication from staff is above and beyond and check in and out super easy!! the parking is a block away but during the day you can park close or in the back parking lot for access to your car but this is beach town so walking isn’t an issue!! and it’s literally a block we didn’t mind at all!! you unload at the property and load at the property! SUPER EASY!! We loved The Brick and we highly recommend it!!

Location was great! Staff was welcoming and both bars great. Especially enjoyed the rooftop bar view and ambiance. Ideal stop for minimalist travelers looking for convenient location from which to enjoy all Oceanside has to offer.

The room was clean, bed comfortable. However, there was no place to sit, other than on the bed. Difficult for business travel if using laptop is necessary in room. Also bathroom had great linens but no shelf space for toiletries. Parking was (as advertised) a few blocks away. Overall still appreciated location, people, and creative conversion of original building.

We liked the mixed use of the hotel space - that it had a beer garden, and a nice rooftop bar, and a restaurant, in addition to the guest rooms. We also liked the keycard entry as it became clear that there's a significant homeless/unhoused problem in downtown Oceanside and we felt safer knowing there was the keypad to prevent them entering the hotel.

There was only one thing we didn't like, that maybe the staff aren't even aware of, because they are so used to the place that they have habituated to it. There's a significant noxious smell in the first floor bar/restaurant, of perhaps food debris (maybe under the tables, or in the seating). It made us not want to spend any time in that area, or visit the bar. Suggest you find and clean that up to eradicate the smell and make that area attractive to eat and drink and spend time in. It was the only fault we found! And, as we say, maybe the staff that were sitting in there a few times cannot smell in anymore because they've habituated (gotten used) to it. Suggest getting a cleaner in who is new to the place and they will smell it, and find the source
