L'Horizon Resort & Spa, Hermann Bungalows

This was a great hotel to spend some quality time with my husband. Staff was very welcoming, the little details offered (like personalized plate with our names on the door) were amazing, the Le Labo toiletries, the fact that the hotel is pet friendly, the cleanliness of the hotel... It was a very memorable trip and we would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a little getaway trip. Location wise, it was perfect. Not too far from PS downtown, but far enough to be quiet. We used their free bikes and also tried their SOPA restaurant, and while they were short-staffed and the dinner took 1h30 to get to us, we were compensated fairly for the wait, and we were well taken care of. The food was very good.

More staff to avoid hour long waits on dinner and breakfast. Suggestion more than didn't like: have dog waste disposal bags available and dog waste trash cans as well.

Luke & Gina greeted us at the front desk. Efficiently checked us in, gave us champagne and brief history of L'Horizon. Both are very personable. Matt took us/luggage to our "Martin" bungalow and showed us the grounds. He also doubles as valet. Morning breakfast was outside by the beautiful pool, starting with mimosas then tasty frittatas. Kelly took good care of us and he doubles as bar tender. We were blessed with 80 degree weather, so hung out by the 94 degree pool and had delicious lunch. Vivacious Andea checks us out and got out car. Thanks L'Horizon for making a memorable Christmas.

Each room is its own bungalow and is incredibly spacious with a private patio. The outdoor shower is an excellent surprise. The bathroom is spacious as is the lounge/bar area of the room and the large bedroom.

The only thing that could use an update are some of the window coverings. They were a little hard to function & are outdated. They need to be replaced - both the ones that are floor to ceiling facing the patio windows & sliding doors as well as the shades that can be pulled in the lounge/bar area. They have lived their life & should be updated.

The staff at the hotel were excellent. We received friendly, helpful and engaged service from the time we entered the hotel to the time we left. The property is quaint, stylish, comfortable and very well-located. The bungalows are cozy but ample in size and provide privacy while remaining convenient to the pool and poolside bar. You can tell great care has been taken in creating a chill, relaxed vibe, which was exactly what we wanted for our anniversary. We got massages at the hotel spa. We read some negative comments about the spa before traveling. However, if you understand the offering, you won't be disappointed. The spa is a series of indoor/outdoor rooms/bungalows, and it was perfect for what we needed. I like a deep-tissue massage and my therapist was too light on pressure. For a $330 massage (90-min w/ tip), I expected more there. Additionally, $35/day for parking was also a surprise. Two minor issues that were overcome by the hospitality of the staff and Steve Hermann's thoughtful design. The true test of a hotel for us is whether we would return, and I can honestly say we will!

Our massages were not dialed in (requested deep-tissue). For the price, I expected more. The $35/day parking was a surprise (not sure if I missed that making the reservation or not). Regardless, there is ample room to park guests, so it seemed excessive.

This is a very beautiful resort, given the cost, the expectation was high and I am happy to say, our expectation was met. All staff were very professional, friendly and met our every need. During our stay it was very hot and the pool area and cabana bar was divine. Although the restaurant was closed, we were able to eat at the resort and all meals were exceptional. Room was lovely, very private and extremely comfortable.

The only fault was that we were not told we would be charged for valet parking, that was a bit of a shock when paying the account.

The property is stunning. Like out of a movie. There's an incredible heated pool and hot tub. The rooms are gorgeous and the bed is SO comfortable.

When we first checked in the person checking us in and the valet/bell boy were so kind, helpful and chatty. After that, the majority of the staff was polite but not very helpful and didn't seem to have a clue as to what was going on. We also had to ask for our room to be cleaned as nobody came in to clean it.

From the minute you get to L’Horizon, you can feel the calm. Staff were attentive and professional. The bungalows were beautiful with some lovely touches. Pool and bar area was lovely. Food and drinks were excellent

Nothing - it was all superb

What a beautiful setting, the grounds, pool, room, all of it. It was a perfect for a romantic getaway. And it was everything we needed to pause & just appreciate each other.

Wi-Fi is offered but doesn’t work. The only negative thing that didn’t meet anyones expectations. If you rely on it for work I’d say you’re out of luck.

The property was gorgeous and very well maintained. The room was comfortable and the shower was amazing. The SOPA restaurant was closed but you could still order off a limited menu and eat poolside, in the cabanas or at the outdoor bar. Everything was delicious! Staff was also great!

The staff was fantastic but I’d say they were very understaffed, especially around the pool given the cost and caliber of the resort. Also, I loved that it was dog friendly but they didn’t have any doggie bag drop areas so not sure what I was supposed to do with my bag after my pooch did her business....
