Bay Club Hotel and Marina

Hotel was on the bay and faced the San Diego skyline. It was only 15 minutes drive to the Embarcadaro and harbor tours. It was only 15 minutes to Old Town as well. It was nice to be on the bay and see the water. The person that checked us in was very nice and another person helped us book our boat tour. The room was large and comfortable. We enjoyed sitting by the pool when the sun came out.

The tub plugged up each day with 1-2 inches of water. The shower mat had been sitting rolled up on the toilet and it was covered with something black when I unrolled it. The parking spaces seemed extremely close together. I have a small car but some SUVs parked so close that we almost couldn't get into the car. Parking was $18/day above the Booking.com prices.

Bay Club meet our expectation and then some. We came for rest and relaxation, they delivered. Our View was spectaclar, sitting on our porch with a cup a tea (me) and coffee (my husband) was the best way to start our day, It gave us that calm and comforting feeling, it washed our stresses away. The owners should be proud of their staff, all helpful and pleasant, it started when we checked in and continued throughtout our stay, until we checked out. Food delicous especially the happy hour. Will we return to Bay Club...you bet!

This is what we didn't like....That it couldn't last longer. I would write a second sentence, but there wasn't any thing we didn't like,,, the only thing that would have improved our stay was that it was FREE.

We had a view of the harbor with all the boats and sailboats. Perfect view. could not be better The hotel is right across from. A beach and over a mile walking path. It is perfect for walking, sitting at the beach, doing a bonfire. And also right next to it is a band every weekend. Which was really fun. Could not get a better location. You can easily walk five minutes and find. 10 restaurants also a really good view of the military planes taking off and military ships bonus waitresses were the best

This place was wonderful. All the staff was super friendly and helpful, the food at the restaurant was decently priced and tasty especially given the reasonable prices. They were accommodating of my food allergies, even if it left me limited options. Safe, great location, quieter than most places I’ve stayed in San Diego which was perfect for the kids.

Parts were a bit outdated. In the bathroom - the toilet moved, the sink pipe gurgled when the neighbor used water, and the door was a little sticky. Overall, it didn’t really affect the great time we had but it was definitely noticed.

The room was clean and looked attractive, fresh. However, I requested early check-in 2 months ago, and the room wasn't ready until 3:55 p.m. Hardly an early check-in. Didn't realize my parking wasn't included in stay - $18, so check your amenities carefully, customers.

Alcohol and food service was slow. Since the room wasn't ready, we ordered cocktails on the patio and they arrived slowly, but a long wait for the appetizer. This server was very nice, though. At dinner, cocktails didn't arrive until we were nearly finished with our food. At least a 1/2 hour wait. Front desk didn't leave a great impression. I had to interrupt someone intent on work (I think a cash register) in the connected room after standing at the front desk with no one present. Cocktail/bar waitress was stressed when I asked how much longer it would take for our drinks to arrive. More attention was being paid to the very busy bar, than the restaurant customers.

Great view, comfortable beds, good location, quiet. The kids loved pool and hot tub! The restaurant staff was great. Front desk staff not as good.

The woman at the desk was very short with me when I asked her about the room charges. She quickly gave me a print out of itemized fees and when I told her it wasn’t clear (I paid for rooms from a third party site and was being charged $130 more than I was quoted). It turned out the fees were correct but it was off putting the way she was curt with me and just threw the itemized list down instead of asking if I understood it. I don’t think I was rude to her at all to warrant that attitude.

First and foremost was the cleanliness, It s was great and the room was comfortable. We had the marina view and it was nice at nice to see all of the boats right out our window. It was a great break from reality. The room service was great and quick. We ended up lounging all day instead of going out due to the intense relaxation the room gave us and the beds...comfy!! I cant wait for our next stay.

The shampoo in the shower was watery like it wasn't filled up or checked by room service. Luckily, I had some travel shampoo but it wasn't nearly enough for my hair. The conditioner was watery at first then thickened up so that was the saving grace of my shower. If house keeping just pumped it once or twice and seen that it is watery they can address it.

Loved the location, our room with balcony and water view. The room was definitely larger than expected which was a bonus. Spent more time than expected in room due to rainy weather, and it was a cozy and comfortable way to wait out the storm. Also, did go in the jacuzzi and it was a great way to relax and the view of marina was awesome.

Would love to have had a few more options for TV, which of course we only noticed as we had extra time in room. Not a complaint, just a suggestion.

My husband and I came to Shelter Island for a concert and decided to stay at this hotel, which is next door to the concert venue. Once there, we upgraded our room to a marina view room (the friendly check-in and upgrade procedure were handled easily) and we're so glad we did! We were located on the second floor looking out to the marina where we caught a beautiful sunset. The room looked updated. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was clean and spacious. We had a delicious breakfast looking out to the water the next morning. Even without a concert, the location, view and service will bring us back here when in San Diego.

The room was incredibly spacious and the king size bed was very comfortable, making it for a perfect end-of-the-day treat after all the walking we did in the city. The room faced the marina and got great light. The staff was very welcoming and kind. The location is quite good, because it is in an area that feels safe, it is relatively quiet, and it has several good restaurants walking distance.

We mentioned in our booking that we were traveling for a celebration and this was not acknowledged (in either words, at the very least, or actions). The room faced the marina, but it was a corner room, where the balcony is so small that the door can't even open without hitting the one chair that was placed there.
