Check in was easy (I actually was able to check in very early) and the room was very quiet. The capsules created a nice sense of privacy. I got a concert the first night I stayed which was a nice surprise with dinner, and I loved the hallways lined with all the pictures and quotes. Also fun to have the cable car only two blocks away. I bought a three MuniMobile pass and road it to my heart's content.

I wish I had brought a sleep sack because the bedding was too warm for me and the fan in the capsule could not do enough to cool down the space. I wish the capsule had a regular plug instead of USB ports for electronic safety and so I could charge my laptop (the desk area was always full of other people's items). The mattress was starting to break down so hopefully those get replaced soon.

The staff were incredibly friendly and kind. When we had to leave early, the front of house staff were understanding and helped us through the process. Friendliest staff ever! The rooms were very clean and the shared bathrooms were surprisingly lovely. We were put in the Greenday room which we loved.

Nothing they can change but Tenderloin isn’t the best area as a tourist. There are a lot of houseless people, who are all fine and pose no danger, but you will probably see some weird stuff especially if you go out at night. Nothing dangerous but can be off putting if you’re not used to it.

This is a hotel with a unique theme that you won't find any place else! It's a fun place to simply walk up & down the halls which have lots of great photos, interesting information, and related quotes adorning the walls. The carpet is unique and the wall & door colors complete & compliment the hotel theme wonderfully. We were in a shared room for 6 people where we could meet our roommates, while the capsule sleeping pods provide a lovely level of privacy that we really enjoyed! The location is ideal, too! We were attending an event at a larger chain hotel, which was only a 6 minute walk away. There are so many coffee shops and restaurants of all "ethnicities" within a 3 block radius, plus a Trader Joe's, and a Whole Foods, and several smaller local grocery stores nearby, that aquiring food & beverages was easy. Plus - Music City Hotel has a nice fruit basket and coffee & teas set out at all times! We needed late check-in which was easily arranged, and also found the folks in the office to be kind, considerate, & helpful! As far as value: Music City Hotel cost us less than 1/2 of what we would have spent for a room at the hotel where our event was held. And - we could get there in about equal time as it took our friends to get to their rooms upstairs in the event hotel.

I had a room to share only with one more female and that was really great. Much better than usual dorms. We had each one side of the room and desk with lamp for each as well as one fridge and sink in the room. In the pod you have some USB plugs, light and privacy shutter. Bed was really comfortable. There was tea and coffee available next to reception as well as some bananas and apples. There is microwave and water dispenser. Paper cups and plates are provided. Toilets have the paper disposable liners. You can borrow hairdryer from reception. Location is really good with short walk to transport.

They have not informed me (and any other guest I have spoken to) that part of the hotel is under renovation and that there is no common area available or breakfast served. Most of staff members gave you a feel like they don't want to be there. They were helpful but not very welcoming. Bathrooms were almost always busy and there were not many of them for the number of people staying. Some were not working...

All the facilities you need, although I was in a dorm room, with the capsule beds you have a lot of privacy and can relax whenever you want. Kitchen, fridge were also a big plus. Bathroom was huge. Complementary coffee. Artsy vibe. Location was great too, very close to bus stations and generally felt pretty safe on the streets nearby. But be careful if walking down towards tenderloin, on my bus ride back to the airport early morning looked extremely sketchy with homeless and drug addicts everywhere. But next to hostel was fine, just be careful. For the price and central location it's more than you can ask for. One of the best hostels I've stayed at.

It was great

Very cool on the inside with homages to legendary rock stars. Bed was very comfortable and room was super clean. Only about a half hour walk (downhill) to Fishermen's Wharf. Complimentary tea and coffee available all day. Bathrooms were single use, which ensured privacy.

Not every bathroom had a shower (I think there are only two), and one bathroom didn't have a sink. Walls are extremely thin so you can hear every noise the other guests make throughout the night. The street outside was fine during during the day, but it seemed to get a little sketchy at night where I wouldn't want to walk outside alone.

The beds are the best I have ever seen in any hostel. Big, robust and can be closed by a blind for lots of privacy. I even did my morning and evening yoga in the bed. There are outlets and light in the bed, so it is really everything you can ask for. The room even has a little kitchen and a bathroom. The laundry is right around the corner, literally a 2-minutes-walk and you can come back to the hostel while waiting for the laundry. 100% recommendation!

There was a weird lady guest in the office holding everybody up and talking weird stuff endlessly. But that is not the hostels fault.

Easy going place. Good connection to the public transportation. The combination with the venue is really nice. Just having the option to listen to music in the evening.

Would have loved to have some more hangers for wet towels or jackets. Would be space for it in the sleeping boxes. For the lockers a bigger lock is needed, so don’t bring the smallest one you have and most probably would attach to a travel bag.

Bed was comfortable. Parking garage was right next door to hotel. Hotel was very clean. Staff was incredibly nice and went above and beyond. Shared bathrooms were always clean.

The room (Janis Joplin) had a terrible, terrible, terrible smell in it. Like something had died. They attempted to clean the carpets one day, and when that didnt work they moved us to a different room for our last night. We were right next to the bathrooms, so maybe there was some mold inside of the walls or something. The shared bathrooms could have something on the doors that says "occupied" or something. You would have to knock if you wanted to know if someone was in them. That's pretty annoying after awhile.

Loved ALL the framed photos of artists through the decades. The staff were ALL outstanding. We found our room to be cold & they graciously gave us a comforter. I liked the music in the hallways & look forward to the THREE stages, being constructed now. I appreciated lots of hot water & choices of tea. I appreciated large bath towels & sink in room. The lanyards/room keys were fun & perfect! Never lost key. Friends @ The Fillmore asked how we got VIP?!! THE overall vibe was so friendly & all guests were happy.

I didn't like the shared bathrooms, felt there could have been more.. I feel each person or couple should be given their own bath mat to step on, as you exit shower. Of course, when we asked, we were given this. The bathrooms needed to be cleaned multiple times per day & the shower became slippery with soap build up, trash can filled quickly, due to many guests using on the weekend. This can easily be rectified & all will enjoy better. Please do this & I say 5 stars definitely! Also review handrails, maybe add some in small section of staircase, for balance & safety.
