Best Western Plus South Coast Inn

Clean and very spacious (accessible) room with Keurig coffee machine. Room 112 is more like a one bedroom apartment on the first floor not far from the lobby. Nice view of the pool from the room. Pretty landscaping on the grounds. Nice courtyard with tables and chairs to hang out in good weather. Decent breakfast to satisfy basic needs. Tea bags available in lobby. Always someone friendly and helpful at reception. Very convenient and walkable to Maravilla Senior Living Community and to grocery, drugstores, restaurants, shops. Also, I stayed a whole week here but had to make 2 separate bookings because the same room was not available. On the second half of my stay, they upgraded me so I did not have to transfer rooms. I recommend this hotel if you are in the area. It's a great value and I see myself returning. Thank you very much!

No directions on the safe. They were worn off. Looked like you needed a credit card to use it? I could have called reception to ask but it was too much of a bother. I took my valuables with me instead.

The hotel was very clean and all the staff was friendly. Our room was located very close to the pool which was great since we used it almost everyday we were there. The location was good too, close to some stores and the tourist areas as well. Breakfast was decent.

The location of the room was where people are constantly passing by to get to the lobby so it could get a little loud early in the morning. I loved that they offer breakfast, I just wish it was offered later for those people that don’t wake up as early.

I will add that I have also stayed at the hotel adjacent to this property and like this just as well even though it has fewer stars. I especially like the microwave and coffee machine in the room and the included breakfast. The 4 of us were here for 5 nights visiting family. The gardens, pool and surrounding area are beautifully maintained. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was always a source of discussion as it’s quite different to what we would have in Australia. Lots of choices though and the staff are great! Very quiet location. We had a lower ground, garden facing room and it was lovely! Would definitely stay again and recommend!

The grounds were lovely. The breakfast buffet included a good assortment of yogurts, breads, fruit and hot items.

The room was clean, but dark. Although situated well away from the street, the ambient noise from the bathroom fan (which couldn't turn off) made the room not as restful as we had hoped.

I have stayed at over 6 different Best Western hotels. This one was by far the best one I have stayed at. Thank you to the staff for being so nice and friendly to my kids. One of the housekeeping ladies, made a blanket and pillow for my daughter's doll and made her so happy. It's the little things like this that made are stay here so great. Also the staff that served us breakfast was so nice and happy we loved it. Thank you for all that you did, you all made are vacation wonderful.

The beds were comfortable and the room was spacious enough for the four of us. Individual reading lights above the beds and ample outlet and usb ports were great.. The breakfast crew were friendly, attentive, helpful, and readily available. The selection of foods was really nice! Thank you!

When we checked-in, the desk clerk rattled-off instructions and directions too quickly for me to truly hear and absorb it all. What I would have liked is to have it all in writing, with a motel map on the other side, such that she talks us through those details, circling the headings and hours as she goes -- and then we get to take it with us, for later reference. I was sorry to see that the printer was out of order in the guest "office" space.

Room just right size for me and two teen granddaughters (two queen beds). Fridge, microwave, coffee maker also appreciated.. Clean room, beautiful grounds, good breakfast offerings, plenty of seating for dining during breakfast times-inside and on patio. Staff was very friendly, and helpful when we had questions about places to go, eat, etc. Had everything we wanted for our stay (pool/hot tub, workout center, breakfast, and the usual and appreciated WiFi and cable TV programs). Beds were comfortable.

I need a small flatter pillow than those provided in many hotel/motels. When I travel by car I take my own, but if traveling with more restrictive luggage rules I need to rely on pillows the hotels offer. I wish there was at least an option for a smaller pillow, I didn't ask at this one as I had my own, but most times there are none available. Remove the mirror that covers the entire wall next to the bed. When some are sleeping, it is impossible to have any light on in the room without reflecting in the face of the sleepers.

Location is near to food places. Room is clean and bed is comfortable. Breakfast is good but not enough sitting capacity. Got to sit outside and it is cold to us, who are 1st time to US and not used to the weather. Wifi is ok.

Staff are not friendly but they are helpful. The room rate is high considering the facilities are basic. Not so value for money.

We stayed for only one night at this Best Western Hotel, so did not get to spend much time to enjoy all its services and amenities but our experience was a positive one. We arrived fairly late around 10 PM; however, the front desk staff was there to friendly and joyfully help us check in and find our room. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the environment was quiet, so we had a good night's sleep. We thought they do a good job providing breakfast to a large number of guests, continuously replenishing food and keeping the coffee up and running as people keep consuming them. We enjoyed sitting in the garden under the morning sun as we had our breakfast. The garden and pool area looked nice but we did not have time to spend there.

The rooms are rather basic and some of the furniture or curtains could benefit from a refresh. The price is slightly on the expensive side, but it seems quite the norm in Santa Barbara area for this type of accommodation.
