Extended Stay America Suites - Santa Barbara - Calle Real

This was our second stay at Extended Stay America Suites-Santa Barbara because it is a pet friendly establishment. We liked the location - very close to the freeway and access to stores and restaurants in short driving distance. We really enjoyed this stay because the queen studio room we stayed in had no carpets. Every time a pet friendly hotel has carpets, it is a trigger for pets to pee on it because of residual smells of previous canine occupants. We had all the supplies to clean up any mess so that housekeeping did not have to deal with it but we never had to use it during our two night stay. The area is quiet and a nice place to just take a morning or evening walk.

The room was clean. NO utensils or kitchen items, glasses were in the room. You could go to the desk and obtain what you needed. Check in was quick with a very friendly associate. Quiet hotel. Easy on /off to freeway and attractions in the area.

Breakfast was not as I would have liked. It consisted of coffee, breakfast bar and muffins.

It has a stove and fridge. The bed was fine. The shower is ok, but the water was constantly dripping. They need to fix it. Otherwise it’s a nice quiet hotel. Pretty clean and service is not too invasive.

Would be nice if they have paid shuttle at this location.

Very clean and spacious.

The man at the front desk was very welcoming when I first checked in but during my checkout, a different man was very cold and showed little to no concern when I had asked questions. I was hoping to extend my stay but he had told me that there were no rooms, yet online they had showed that I could book a different room that was available. I had told him that and he still seemed to give no solution. Very very unhelpful and unfriendly.

Everything was good in our stay at the property...all staff was very helpful when asked for something...rooms are spacious and well cleaned.

This does not take any star from my review of the hotel but the night before we left I asked if I could use the reception printer to print PCR test for travelling and was told by the person that was there he did not have the password for the PC. Managers, allow your employees to have such a thing as they can help your customers with a ton of things that may be needed at night.

Excellent location near UCSB. Great for a few nights. Friendly staff and coffee in the morning . Breakfast is a grab and go

Unfortunately the room had a slight smell -might be due to the fact that pets are allowed. We didn’t have a pet. We also needed ice and there was no ice machine.

The room was spacious and the bed was comfy. Loved the refrigerator and the microwave.

Extremely disappointed in the "breakfast" It only consisted of coffee, 2 types of granola bars and instant oatmeal packets. When asked, the manager said she was having difficulty getting muffins delivered due to covid. In my opinion adding muffins to the the above selections does not make a breakfast, unless the word "continental" was in front of it. (At least to lower the expectation)

the front desk employee (I forgot her name I’m sorry) called my room about 20 mins to check in and make sure everything was okay. she was super friendly and was a great host. i was staying at this hotel due to the fire highway 101. I live in Lompoc and my commute was averaging 2 hours a day. the front desk noticed I was a bit disheveled and was super friendly. i appreciate her checking in on me as I was alone.

you get what you pay for

Staff was very nice. It was quiet and suited our purpose, which was to have a place to go sleep because we were out most the days we were in Santa Barbara.

The room had an odor of mustard when we would enter the room. it would eventually subside after we started the air condition and/or opened the windows. We did not use the kitchen facilities so have no idea why the smell persisted.

Room was spacious

Breakfast offerings were bare minimum: Granola bars, muffins, instant oatmeal. Coffee was OK, but the only offered pump bottles of "creamers". I would have liked some milk and juice.
