Retro Inn at Mesa Verde

It was an amazing hotel to visit. The check-in process was easy and quick. The entire property has the retro theme. We had two rooms and both rooms were uniquely decorated. They were clean and comfortable. Breakfast in the morning is continental. It consisted of juice, coffee, fruit, bagels, pastries, and cereal. Also, we were happy to see burritos and tamales in the fridge you can heat up. Free bottles of water were also available. The front-desk attendant did an amazing job keeping breakfast stocked. Everyone enjoyed the life-size chess board on the front lawn. The game room is awesome for kids. It has a pool and foosball tables and a Playstation. Very reasonably priced hotel rooms. This hotel is on our permant list when visiting the Mesa Verde area.

Maybe some hot offerings at breakfast would be nice. Also, some outdoor seating for breakfast, it was crowded!

Excellent breakfast with tamales and burritos, along with other standard fare like yogurt, pastries, muffins, waffles, fruit, coffee, and fresh juice. Laundry room and game room were clean and felt safe even in the late evening. The retro decor is what make this place unique and exceptional. They have literally thought of everything to keep the retro vibe. Extremely convenient location, just 9 miles to Mesa Verde park entrance and within walking distance to several Mexican restaurants and Walmart. Verizon store was also within walking distance, which was very handy when I had trouble with my phone while on vacation.

The retro theme is a lot of fun and adds to the charm of the older property. We felt the price was good value for money. There were nice amenities in our room including a refrigerator with a freezing compartment. There was also a coffee maker and microwave. The room was very clean. The staff was nice and the breakfast had good options.

There was a VERY strong scent of cleaner/air freshener that was so overpowering we had to keep the windows open all night and run the camping fan we had with us in order to sleep. There is apparently no designated parking and our rude neighbors parked in front of our room and would not move.

It’s a place to spend real quality time. Swings in the yard, a giant outdoors chess board, chairs and benches all over the three very green lawns, lots of trees for shade. A great community room with a pool table, couches, a large TV… A laundromat and dryer that run on coins and are very clean. We had a good time.

There were stains on the bed sheets and the fabric bases of the box spring beds. We didn’t notice until we wanted to go to bed. Luckily, we had a room with two queens and the second bed was fine, so we just switched beds.

The amenities were fantastic. So many cute places around the property to enjoy being together and play games. Our room had a kitchenette and was very well kept and clean. A short drive down the street into town for the restaurants in Cortez, and 10 min drive to Mesa Verde. The included breakfast was fantastic. Loved the hotel, loved the property, loved Mesa Verde. If we're back in town we'll definitely be staying here again.

The lights were very bright and there could be more plugs for charging.

Funny little motel. Nice retro decor in the breakfast area, and very good breakfast. Super cool facilities like babyfoot, billard, giant chess set, board games, tv room.

The extra decor in the room is actually just posters sticked to the wall so don't fret when choosing your room!! Else than that, they are just basic motel rooms on the oldie side (the bathroom could use some renovations, plumbing was leaking and super noisy). But the atmosphere in this hotel is so cool that you forgive all this.

The Assistant manager checked us in and had a great sense of humor! He gave us dinner recommendations in the area and was so friendly!! The room we stayed in was clean and cozy. Each room is based on a certain year. There is a binder that explains the history of the area and recommendations of sites to see and local restaurants. It also had a fun fact sheet of the happenings of the year that our room was based on (1965). Checkout was a breeze and staff was also friendly! It is located in quiet area and we slept well. Beds were super comfortable.

Our rooms were clean! We loved the little shady place in back to get together and chat. The staff people we met were extremely helpful and friendly. When they realized our whole family was coming (4 rooms), they gave us access to the little kitchen area as well, which was just fantastic! Hope to stay there every year for our family reunion that's held in the area! Thank you for a great stay!

Parking was a little sketchy. We had to park in an area away from our room.

Breakfast was great with many options ranging from muffins, breakfast burritos, hard boiled eggs, and bakery goods. The game room was new and had foosball, a pool table, and lounge area. They have a ping pong table outside as well. Each room is themed with bright colors and furnishings. We stayed in the 80's TV room. Our room had a patio outside it's door with a table and two chairs to sit and have coffee in the morning or happy hour at night.

I liked the clean rooms and comfortable beds.

I wish that they had a better breakfast. There were hard boiled eggs and pastries. There was a choice of frozen burritos and tamales that you had to heat up in a microwave. I wish the rooms had more retro charm. There was a photo of an old time movie star on the wall and that was it for decoration. It was basically a fancy motel. There was no swimming pool or hot tub but there was a nice game room and play area for the kids.
