Holiday Inn - Tallahassee E Capitol - Univ, an IHG Hotel

Hello good evening everything very good in the hotel The only thing I paid for was breakfast included but they decided to close the room and not serve breakfast I don't know the reason, but I chose the hotel for its facilities and because it had breakfast included. I rented 2 rooms. We were 6 people and that was a separate expense that we did not count.

Breakfast was good as it was going to be cooked based on your preference. Even though it is not included in your room rate, I believe this is more customer-centric because you were given a choice to either avail it from the hotel or anywhere else. There were also a lot of restaurants and shops nearby. The room was really big enough for the three of us and most of all, it was really clean from the bed to the toilet. Thank you Katie for preparing this room for us! Free parking was also a plus and the location was safe. Internet speed was also great.

Complimentary coffee tasted bad. It was dull that I thought I was drinking a bitter water and there was no aroma that would really make me say that the coffee was brewed correctly.

no xtra creamer or sugar, for coffee in room also ask house keeping had none on her cart also when checking in front desk was very rude , attitude, her words exactly in I quote , what’s your name I gave her first name she just starred I gave her last name , she handed me key in said don’t smoke in room, no dogs in room, that’s it , no how are you doing enjoy your stay nothing . if she would of looked at screen I wanted a non smoking room , in why would I bring a dog on a business trip .

Staff and cleaning crew were so nice and helpful. Really nice rooms and great location. Breakfast voucher was well worth the money. Food was delicious especially the pancakes and potatoes. All special request were fulfilled in a timely manner. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Everywhere in the hotel was super clean and indoor heated pool was amazing.

The complementary coffee in lobby could have been better. Other than that everything else was great

Location was perfect, close to shopping and restaurants. Hotel was clean and well kept; hallways and room smelled clean and fresh. King bed was comfortable, and the room was spacious.

Nothing not to like about this place. There was only one thing I could see as an improvement to our King size room, and that was to either add another comfy chair like the one that was in there, or replace with a sofa, so two people would have a comfortable place to sit. There definitely was plenty of room for either 2nd chair or sofa.

Breakfast was great. I would give the front desk high marks as well . Free coffee in the lobby was a plus for me. There were some issues with the clock in my room and the coffee maker. They repaired both immediately giving mre a new coffee maker. The fitness room was excellent and the pool was nice.

I checked my Visa account on line as I often do to keep up with security on my credit card. I noticed Holiday Inn had added fifty dollars to my total. WITHOUT MY Authorization . I was never asked or told that they did this. I complained to the front desk. They said I would get it back in 3-5 days. I was upset with this. You do not have the right to charge me extra without my OK. I called Visa and was advised to challenge this . It was removed the day I left. Plese stop this behavior. This was a unauthorized charge. It did effect my stay.

how clean the lobby was, friendly staff, comfortable bed, excellent AC, mini fridge

This room had some repair needs. Several of the lampshades were damaged - they looked beat up. There was hair and black stains on the wall in the bathroom. Stains were easily cleaned with a Clorox wipe but housekeeping should have taken care of this before the room was rented.

The property is in prime location when visiting Tallahassee, very close to everything that’s needs and within 10 mins from the Doak stadium

the property was very clean very well keep the rooms smelled extremely fresh , Thanks to Mrs.Nicole , the staff was unbelievable with the customer service, Tom the cook at the grill makes some of the best breakfast you could ever ask for

The room was clean, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. I liked that there was a microwave, Keurig, and a decent size fridge.

Before I went out I put the Do not disturb sign on the door, but housekeeping still went into the room. This was strange since there are notices saying due to Covid-19, housekeeping will not be going into your room during your stay unless requested to do so. Also, I did not like the metal plate on the shower floor. While showering it made the most annoying sounds when the water hit it. On my booking it said breakfast was included, but it was not.

STAFF: Tony at the front desk is a gem! The young woman who served us breakfast was fabulous also. The two people who checked us out were amazing. Literally everyone was professional, courteous, efficient. PRICE POINT: For $20 more than the cheapest hotels around we got a night and day difference in quality! The complimentary, on-site breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, fried potatoes, toast and coffee for 2 made up for the extra cost alone. LOCATION: The Brewery restaurant down the street serves an excellent 14oz ribeye and has an upbeat, young college vibe. The area is safe and there was ample parking for my rental car. 15-20 min drive to the airport. CLEANLINESS: The property is well maintained and was exceptionally clean in the lobby, room, dining areas and outdoors. I cannot speak of the gym or pool as we did not visit those areas but consistency appears to be a theme at this hotel.

NOISE LEVEL: Not sure if I can blame the hotel for this but there was a noisy, fussy toddler who was either next door or above us. S/he stayed up until after 11pm. If it’s not discriminatory, I would suggest that the hotel puts families on one end of the hotel and adult travelers on the other due to the tolerance of noise levels. ALSO, they are doing construction right next door so at 9am we were awaken by that activity as well.
