The best part is the owner's family. I thought this was American Hospitality?. It was casual, but very helpful and very comfortable... yes. This place only accepts two teams per day, so you feel treated. If you are staying here, turn off all the lights in your room at night and sit on the terrace. The birdsong would be really nice. And the host, he is a real professional chef. so they prepare a different breakfast for you everyday and they are so~ good. You should try it, If you are a foreigner like me, you must try it. because his foods changed my prejudice on the American food that I had before. There are coffee farms nearby, so it's very quiet and peaceful. But still the property's location is less than a 10-minute drive from downtown Kona or the beaches. If I ever have the luck to go to the Big Island again, I will definitely stay here longer.

Nothing. The only thing is that I had to leave there.

Ricky is an exceptional host. His warm hospitality and willingness to go the extra mile made our stay at the B&B an unforgettable experience. The rooms were clean and comfortable, providing a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. The breakfast was simply amazing. On top of that, the farm animals and wildlife added an extra touch of joy to our stay, especially for my partner.

Having a car is highly recommended for the best experience. Although, we found using Uber to be a convenient and reasonably priced option, with rides from the property to Kona downtown costing approximately $15. Unfortunately, there are no buses or other forms of public transportation in the vicinity.

Amazing stay! I highly recommend anyone staying in Kona wanting an incredible experience to stay here. Ricky and his wife are both extremely friendly, kind and hospitable people (as well as both being great cooks). The destination (10 min drive from town up into the hills) provides the most beautiful views of the ocean and surrounding landscape. The room was immaculately clean and much bigger than I had originally thought going by the photos. We utilised the breakfast option and were treated to a variety of delightful breakfasts along with the best coffee I had drunk in Kona that they make with their own beans. The view whilst eating there is as good as it can get as well. Could not have enjoyed our stay more here and if we go back to Kona we will certainly be staying at Hale Hualalai with Ricky. Thank you both so much for making our stay with you perfect.

The location is great - it’s about 15-20 minutes from the coast, up the mountain in a tropical forest. The room has an amazing view, all the way to the ocean, and has a private and spacious lanai. You’re surrounded by nature. I can’t say it was quiet because you will hear frogs (tiny little things with enormous voices) at night and goats and birds during the day, but it was the best kind of noise (other than the ocean). The room was nicely furnished and spacious and very comfortable. It was even better than depicted in the online photos. And the owners were very friendly and available to provide advice on hikes and sightseeing. It was a great deal and we’ll definitely stay there again on our next trip.

We liked everything. We were disappointed not to be able to enjoy the breakfast since we had early morning plans, but it sounded delicious.

Great little B&B. :) Room is clean and comfortable, has a nice view of the ocean from the balcony and it was nice to wake up and saw part of the ocean. The proprietor Ricky is super considerate and accommodating. And the add-on breakfast was very tasty and fresh from his garden (papayas were so good!)

Nothing we didn’t like. Only thing is for people who are very afraid of geicos, it might be a little startling since there are some around the house. (But they are small, and we didn’t really see them in the room, so we didn’t mind)

This was the best place of our trip. We should have stayed longer. Ricki and Irina are very gracious hosts. With only two rooms (really they are apartments) you are treated very special. Ricki is a Chef so the breakfasts are phenomenal. As I am vegan it was a challenge for him, which he met with flying colors. The small farm is a treat. The higher altitude made the stay cooler particularly in the mornings. Discussions with Ricki or Irina were fun as was conversations with other guests. Can't say enough good things. The view is spectacular as well - looking out over the farm out to the ocean from the Lanai.

The road is a little off putting and narrow at first, but you get used to it. The house is at the end of the road after two other homesteads.

Location, excellent breakfast by the chef owner, very personable and helpful, accommodated need of solo traveler, friendly! Room is very large; larger than it appears in the photos. The balcony overlooking the farm and the ocean was wonderful as well, and I enjoyed relaxing on the balcony before starting the day and in the evening after a long day out exploring.

I wish there was a coffee machine of some sort in the room, as I was up early to get my day started, as it would have been nice to have when I woke up. However, that was a minor thing and did not take away from the stay. Also, their coffee at breakfast was wonderful and strong.

The location near Kona, part way up the slope of Hualalai, is rural and open with grand views. The room is spacious and comfortable, with lots of windows and a private covered porch with amazing views--of the surrounding pasture, the neighboring residence looking straight out of Tuscany, fruit trees, hedgerows, and a functional homespun collection of sheds, coops, warrens, gardens and raised beds, and with the ocean fully visible in the distance. Breakfast is a particular delight--with creative and tasty combinations of wholesome, mostly home-grown and home-made ingredients, including the fine coffee. This place is a labor of love, supported by the clever entrepreneurial instincts, wholesome family life, and fine hospitality of the hosts.

A blizzard in the Northeast that forced us to cancel our first day.

It’s literally an accommodation next to a ranch. You see the ocean and mountain from your private balcony and see a farm from the common balcony at the dining area.

It’s more about my bad driving skill. The road is narrow and I had to get the host , Ricki to accompany me driving up from the bottom of the valley. He is super nice and very accommodating!

The size of the suite as well as the comfort it provided. We enjoyed the farm atmosphere as well as the fresh food that was harvested for our breakfast. The hosts Ricky and Irina were wonderful. Ricky provided us with information about what to see, how to get there and wonderful spots for dinner.
