A few hours before our arrival I received a text giving me details about our room # and how to gain entry, plus other details about the place. This was great and made check-in easy and fast. The motel uses keypad locks on the doors so there are no keys to worry about forgetting to return or lose. When we arrived we realized that we needed a third sleeping platform so I texted the Manager, Sam and she responded immediately and rode her bicycle over and give us a cot to set up in our room. Sam recommended a local place in neighboring Sandpoint, ID to see some entertainment and enjoy a local brew with excellent food called Mick Duff's. It was also excellent! The room was done in a very nice Northwestern motif unique for this type of temporary lodging IMO, and was very nicely done. Everything was clean and the environmentally safe soaps were high quality and appreciated. Plenty of towels were in the room and importantly there were plenty of electrical outlets for chargers. The place was full but we could not hear other guests unless they were outside speaking loudly and all slept well, even myself who found the cot to be pretty comfortable.

We cannot think of anything that we did not like, all was good and was exactly what we were looking for after a good day riding in hot weather.

Wonderful family-owned motel close to Sandpoint. The non-franchise motel has been remodeled into boutique-style lodging. One can tell the owners care about this place and aim high to maintain a modern, clean look to the premises. This was our first stay here, and the Outdoors Inn has earned our support. All rooms of the motel are located on street level, which provides easy baggage transfer from the car directly into the room. Motel staff communicated clearly by email/text before hand, to provide easy to follow check-in instructions. Self check-in was a breeze. The room is very clean, the decor is modern with a woodsy twist, and the bed is quite comfortable. Even though we did not use the “kitchen kit,” it appeared to include the essentials, such as plates, glasses, utensils, etc. Next time we’ll take advantage of the kitchen kit. The motel is within short walking distance of the Hoot Owl Cafe, an awesome roadside all American breakfast diner down the road. We’ll definitely stay at the Outdoors Inn again - we highly recommend.

We loved this place! Location was easy to find. The room was very comfortable and felt like the owners really cared about the upkeep and the guests. I loved the thoughtful touches like having real coffee mugs to drink from, an extra folding chair in the room, plenty of shower supplies, and having easily accessible power plugs right by each side of the bed. They texted us earlier in the day with all the checkin information we would need to arrive anytime without needing to get a key from a front desk, but they did have someone onsite available for any needs or emergencies. We definitely will look to stay here first when we are in the area!

I would have to look for something I didn't like, so I guess I would say that the bathroom door was tricky to open from the inside since it has a flush mount handle.

We loved this place! You can tell a lot of thought went into the decor and fixtures used to create a cozy, rustic room. very clean. Attention to details including full sized (and great brands) of shampoo/conditioner/hand soap), wood floors, headboard and eating nook. Equipped w glasses, mugs and local coffee w microwave, etc for quick make yourself breakfasts. Convenient and close to nearby towns, cafes, skiing, attractions. On a main road but traffic not loud. Had an evening and morning train but they were timed to not be bothersome. Would stay again! friendly owner

Not much to complain about!

Amy, the host and proprietor, was just fabulous with me and the rest of my family group from the get-go. Her friendliness and energy upon check-in (an incredibly quick and easy process, I might add) waving to us from across the parking lot made us immediately know that we'd made a great choice picking this hotel out of all of the rest for our stay in Sandpoint. All of the other guests staying that evening (11th July 2022) we're also As for the hotel (motel, to be precise), the entire property has very recently renovated and done to a great standard and with bundles of charm, character and a level of individuality that you'd normally only expect from a 'boutique' hotel. Beds were excellent, shower was hot & powerful and morning coffee-making within the room very tasty. The hotel was a very short drive to Sandpoint town centre, a town definitely worthy of a visit if on any Idaho/Pacific top left road trip. If you do plan to visit Sandpoint then Outdoors Inn really ought to be where you book yourselves into! Have a blast in Sandpoint and a great night's sleep - we did : )

What a pleasant stay. While it’s a motel, based on its layout, you really feel like you are in a modern hotel. It is exceptionally clean, comfortable and you can tell the owners care about this property. Do make sure you receive the entrance key sequence before you show up. Theoretically you should get a text message prior to the check-in. Just a tip: do not go to the nearby Owl breakfast place if you are in a hurry that day and especially if normally you eat to live, not live to eat. While it’s a lovely and authentic place with very pleasant staff, it is meant for leisurely and really slow mornings with breakfast-lunch-supper on a single plate.

Be warned this place is not for light sleepers: it is right on the highway and the train passes by in the night a couple of times. Just make sure you get sufficiently tired so you can fall back asleep immediately :) The place is so nice that I remember the noise with a smile.

The location was great with respect to Sandpoint and Schweitzer ski resort and many places to eat. The bed, bath, and kitchenette were comfortable with many places to store your clothes and stuff. Very clean and modern.

This place is very close to a noisy road and a constant flow of trains. We were able to sleep comfortably since we brought our white-noise machine. While the kitchenette is clean and modern with many of the basic essentials, it wasn't clear that there are no utensils, eatware, or cookstove (microwave only). This again wasn't a problem since we were traveling heavy and had the tools to eat. It might also have been nice to have more places to sit other than the 1 love seat and the bed since we had 2 people, but overall it was the best motel we've ever stayed at, and very dog friendly!

Loved the cozy room setup and the "at home" touches. My husband really liked the shampoo and the conditioner. I enjoyed the hand soap and that it was personal not generic. The coffee bar was great.

Pillows were big and too fluffy. That is mainly the only thing I did not like. I usually bring my own pillow but forgot to. Also I could hear the people in both rooms next door. But that is to be expected. One other thing. The room needs two chairs in it instead of one. It can be a little uncomfortable to sit on the bed to enjoy a conversation while hanging out in the room.

Very cool "motel" updated with the local outdoors vibe of the area. Super well done remodel, loved the rooms and parking in front of your door.

Easy access to the road to Schweitzer, but a bit disconnected from the local scene in Sandpoint. Just 5 min drive with a car, but not walking distance from local scene in Sandpoint downtown area of restaurants and nightlife.

Unique, loved the simple, modern decor. Very friendly owner /staff. Provided some amazing recommendations on places to eat. Short drive to downtown Sand point and the beach.

Noise between rooms (which wasn’t a problem for us, but I apologize to our neighbors…I have three teenage boys) Not much to see or do within walking distance.
