Hampton Inn and Suites Michigan City

The breakfast was awesome with a huge selection and all of it was very good. The room (suite) was extremely well laid out & very comfortable. The location is great with everything you could want right nearby. The entire staff from check in, (Stormy was exceptionally helpful) to housekeeping were friendly & the most genuinely helpful I've ever encountered. This hotel is managed very well. We truly enjoyed our stay.

The shower water fluctuated between very hot & cold, and it was during the middle of the day. There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom or it didn't work. Now, for just better creature comforts, the trash can liners were too small & sooo thin they don't even work. One larger trash can needed in the room for the guests take out food containers to fit in. There needs to be 2 simple hooks put in the bathroom to hang the towels or your clothes. A nightlight in the bathroom would be very helpful.

The hotel was fine, employees were polite and helpful. However I will not use Bookings.com again. Had good luck in past but the price for this hotel was riidiculous. I saw a much lower price the day before we left and they would not honor it without jumping through hoops. I'm 78 years old, I don;t know how to download etc any of the computer stuff they wanted. They make it difficult enough you just give up. The hotel gave us a better price for the first night. I trusted Booking..com for the best rate and they have done so before. Big failure this time and won't be using them again.

The front of desk in room was sticky with something I had to work really hard to remove. Room was very clean except for that.

The trim had dead flies in the window seal and the bathroom door was dangerous. I cut my finger trying to close the bar door. it slides past the bathroom and my finger got pinched between the door & wall. ( Could have been much worse) so I had to warn the others in the room to be careful when sliding the bathroom door closed. could be very dangerous for a child!! The hot tub was not available.

The breakfast was good. I would have liked it more if there had been biscuits and gravy, but it was still a nice variety. I liked the location. It was in a quiet part of the city, away from noise. The room was spacious and very clean.

The only think that would have made it better is if there had been a restaurant attached so I didn't have to drive to get a meal. It wasn't that big of a deal, though, as there is a Culver's just two minutes down the road.

Very clean and comfortable. Overall it was a nice short stay.

The receptionist that did my check in was extremely unprofessional. While checking me in she was on the phone having a dispute on a cancelation with another customer. Didn't greed us when we first arrived nor did she say thank you for staying with us. Overall she was not friendly at all. In fact was outside smoking when we first arrived and we had to wait for her to come in. The African American man that was cleaning the hallway which was able to check us out was more friendly and professional than the lady with the black hair that checked us in.

close to highway, but quiet. Rooms were clean and quiet. Woman checking us in about 5p was very helpful in recommending a restaurant; was efficient, personable, and courteous.

Breakfast was ok, nothing special. would prefer turkey sausage vs kielbasa with eggs. Wife’s Raisin Bran had no raisins. Not any unflavored coffee creamer left at 7:15a. otherwise, all good.

Didn’t eat breakfast… loved the enclosed ice room. It’s a simple thing, but preventing that loud sound from traveling down the hall makes a huge difference! Appreciate locating us at end of hall so our dog was not disturbed by excessive hall noise too! Night staff at check in super friendly!!!

No complaints- maybe extend breakfast a break t longer…

Staff at breakfast was a delight. Hotel was spot on, Very nice. Loved the dining area, Very nice. Outdoor seating from the pool, a plus. Support staff, Very Good

The Manager, was not nice, my family had struggles and her disposition wasn't good. Seemed to feel she was being inconvenienced and irritated.

breakfast was awesome. staff friendly, location great all was good.

pool are is nice but the material/flooring when wet is a fall hazard. very slippery, the hot tub was not able to be used not sure why but, again floor was slippery so wouldn't want to risk fall. other than that, all was very very nice.

Room very clean. Beds were very comfortable. The bathroom area was especially nice. The staff was very friendly and accommodating for my accessibility issues. Very nice property.

Our room was on first floor near an entrance and across from a service or maintenance entrance so we heard noise from both which woke us up on and off in the evening and morning.
