This is a older Motel that is not fancy or have the frills of big chain hotels but don't let it discourage you. This little place was perfect for my husband and I. We arrived late but the manager was very friendly and accommodating. He reconized my husband was a veteran and thanked him for his service. That meant alot to him..Now for the room, it was clean, AC was cold and beds were comfortable. The shower was on the smaller size but the water was hot and great water pressure. They had soap, shampoo and conditioner available for us. Room had a fridge, microwave and coffee pot complete with plenty of coffee, sweetner and creamer..we really enjoyed our 2 day stay. Thank you Mr Edwards for creating such a warm, welcoming atmosphere. You made us feel at home..we will definitely be back.. Great Hoosier hospitality!!

It was clean, and the bed was comfortable. Pillows were king-size pillows. The owner was very nice and helpful. The TV reception was spotty. I could only get a few channels. The water was nice and hot. The bathroom was small but functional. The room was good size. It's not a Hilton or your other chain hotels, so don't expect that. It's an older motel like a mom and pop back in the day. We will definitely stay there again. It's all in what you are looking for. For the value price, we were very pleased.

The tv reception was not good. The rooms have Dish satellite, but we could only get a few channels.

I liked the jacuzzi it was great nice and hot and relaxing. The room wasn't updated, but I didn't care it was clean and comfortable for the stay. It was a nice place and I didn't have any issues.

I didn't like that the AC would cut off every now and then, but it was usually cool by then, so it wasn't a problem. Also the Tv stations weren't that great and the Internet was spotty.

Son of owner greeted us when we arrived, very friendly and helpful. Room very nice and clean. Bathroom could have been about a foot larger but we are big people, it was clean and served it purpose. We will stay here again and recommend it to everyone. Quiet country setting, loved it.

So I’m not gonna lie, I typically stay some place like Holiday Inn, I booked a hotel that was supposed to be pet friendly, I booked through a third party... MISTAKE. I wasn’t able to bring my fur baby with me. Hickory Shades was extremely accommodating, had facilities to have a cookout, the staff could not have been more personable. The rates: amazing! We have a family of 4, two are growing teens. The rooms were a tad small, but very cozy. My teenage son agreed that we needed to make this an annual tradition! 5 star service!!!

If I had to complain, which I’m nitpicking here, the rooms were a little small, but we all had decent amount of space.

A very welcoming, cozy place. The location is close to Brown County Park and not far from town. They are very accommodating and nice people. The bed was comfortable and there was enough space for us. Parking and getting in and out was very easy. He gave us clear directions on things to do in the area.

very nice small room. perfect for 2 people. We appreciated the coffee left in the room.

the only thing I can really say was a downside was just that the shower head looked a bit dirty. but other than that everything else was fantastic.

Was a great little motel close to Little Nashville and Bloomington. Scenery in this area is great!

The bathroom is not made for bigger people lol kinda small but everything else was great including the jacuzzi tub!

IT WAS A GREAT PLACE TO REST. SMALL, BUT COMFY. BATHROOM NEEDED SOAP, BUT STAFF WAS HAPPY TO PROVIDE SOME. WILL STAY AGAIN IF IN AREA. STAFF WAS GREAT. FIREPIT WAS NICE ALSO FOR RELAXATION. DID I MENTION STAFF WAS GREAT, VERY FRIENDLY AND WILLING TO HELP WITH ANYTHING.

NO CONDIMENTS FOR COFFEE. STAFF WAS HAPPY TO ACCOMADATE THOUGH.

I always love how clean the property is, how easy it is to check in and out and the location is great!

There’s really nothing to complain about. This place is great, we stay here often when we come to town!
