Capital Plaza Hotel

The hotel is walking distance from downtown and I like that it had a couch in the room as well as the bed and also had a refrigerator.

That we were there for four nights, and the room was not cleaned once. They were contradictory signs in the room. One sign on a laminated piece of paper, said that if we wanted to get our towels changed, we could beat them in the hall but another sign on the door said that they would come by every third day. They did not come by on the third day and we had our towels changed only because we happened to arrive back when the cleaning staff was right there so we were able to switch out our towels.

The lobby was beautiful, the rooms were comfortable, GREAT location, fairly priced, and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was also really good. Regarding staff, I do have a story. The first night my significant other and I got there we stood outside for a chat, for the most part it was very pleasant. Some people drove up to the light and started harassing me but the receptionist ran them off while calling the police. She could have turned a blind eye but she didn't. They really do care about their guests. I wish I remembered her name. I highly recomend this place.

The only real issues I had with this hotel were the lights in the hall and the comfort of the room's couch. The lights were dim/ off-color which made it a tad creepy and the couch was a bit uncomfortable. These weren't problems that would make me turn my nose up to this place though, that's for sure.

Everything about the hotel was fantastic. The lobby is gorgeous! There are 3 elevators and you never had to wait more than 10 seconds for one to pick you up. Our king room was spacious and very clean. The mini fridge and microwave were both spotless! The room probably could use an update but that didn't bother us at all. The king size bed was very comfortable for both my husband and I. The free breakfast was awesome! It's set up in different locations around the large eating area so everyone isn't crammed in trying to get something at the same time. Your choices are pancakes, French toast, waffles, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, cold cereal, fruit, yogurt, bagels, pastries and different juices. Something for everyone! We never had breakfast outside of the hotels the 3 days we stayed. It was excellent! I should note that the pool is closed for major repairs, so if you are wanting to swim you should call ahead and see if it is back up and running. If the hotel bar/lounge was open this hotel would be absolutely perfect but that is shut down as well. We had an amazing time here and this will be our hotel when we visit Frankfort.

The only disappointment was the parking garage. I knew we would have to use the parking garage across the street but I didn't anticipate that it would have lots of standing water and smell really bad.

The room was comfortable, some may call it outdated but I liked it! They are dog friendly. The pool is handicapped accessible, you just have to ask the front desk to have maintenance put the battery in the unit. My husband liked the free breakfast, I don’t eat breakfast.

There is supposed to be 10 minute unloading out front but some people stayed there for really long periods of time making it very difficult to access the ramp for my wheelchair, my husband had to push me out in the street to get around parked cars. This is obviously more of a crappy person problem than the hotel’s problem.

I stay here at least once a year to visit my family. The staff is all very nice. This trip was a little different we went to check into out room and must have had a mishap but they were so quick to fix and upgrade my room. I was very grateful of that, As I stated earlier I come at least once a year to visit family and I have been doing this for 8 years or more. We have always had my family come to the hotel and the kids go swimming and have dinner either outside the pool area or in our room. It has never been an issue but this time the lady at the front desk didn't like that I had extra people swimming. The same kids swam on Saturday night but I guess because someone was having a birthday party it was ok. Just a little disappointed after all these years it became a problem.

The smell of Weed everywhere is crazy.

Great central location for 5 distillery visits we made. It is walking distance to downtown Frankfort. Spacious room size fir a standard room. Mostly love the staff.

They are rebuilding the pool. It will be great when it’s done. But not available for our stay. Very Carb loading breakfast items. Here for 4 nights and only one morning with a meat...that was my husband’s only dissatisfaction. I wish they had a pancake machine that spits out perfectly cooked pancakes. The French toast sticks can stay in the box. Fresh fruit would be nice

I loved the entrance it really created an expectation of a nice stay. Big rooms, friendly staff at check in. Quiet and private

It was out dated. Lots of old furniture and fixtures. The room although big in size had a strong old dusty smell had to spray the room with perfume. The staff came at 11:40 when check out is at twelve and me and my spouse just got out of the shower and was naked. They did not knock or anything just key carded in and I yelled and they backed out. Bar and restaurant closed.

Location was excellent. Easy drive or walk to downtown and points of interest. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. My room had a fridge, microwave and coffee station. The hotel fills all your basic needs. Don't come expecting luxurious but it's a solid stay. I will go back when I'm in the area.

Parking was plentiful adjacent to the property. Some folks didnt read the signs and left cars parked in front making it difficult to load and unload.

approx 4 blocks to downtown so we could walk. Nice older hotel. Previous reviews were accurate in that this hotel was ‘something special’ during its day. It still is nice overall and we had NO issues during our stay. Staff was friendly and it was a bonus that breakfast was included.

Road noise was loud on the street side of the property. Rooms were comfortable, but haven’t been updated recently. Bottom line: We liked the hotel and would stay here again.

Staff was fantastic and a very walkable location to the hot spots in town. There's even a trolley that stops right outside. They also have a great water feature right when you walk in. Also, very close to bungee jumping and several of the distilleries on the Bourbon Trail (<30min from like 5 of them!).

It was a little outdated. However, it is currently being remodeled so that shouldn't be the case a few months from now.
