Horse Cave Motel

Very very clean. The owner was so nice and accommodating the only thing I had a problem with was there wasn't enough lighting in the bathroom for the shower but other than that I will be going and staying again excellent little motel and price was more than reasonable just loved it and will be staying again but cleanliness was just exceptional it's cleaner than any other hotel I've stayed in!! Oh and could use a coffee pot in the rooms but other than little more lighting and a coffee pot in room that's all I can point out that is an issue but not gonna stop me from staying again.

The price was right and the man who checked me in was friendly. The wifi and fridge worked well. Since I was driving it was relatively convenient to get to the caves I was in the area to see.

The hotel is located in a dry county, which never crossed my mind when I booked it, so I had to drive to Cave City in the neighbouring county to get a few alcoholic beverages to drink in my room since there was nothing to do at night in the vicinity. Luckily it was only a 10-minute drive away.

Horse Cave Motel is what you would call above basic lodging at a seemingly bargain price. My room was clean, and came equipped with a refrigerator, and a microwave. The air conditioning was more than adequate for a hot humid July night. I happened to arrive early, and the owner allowed me to check in before the prescribed check in hour. There are plenty of things to do, and places to eat, ranging from a fairly basic barbeque cafe, to a nice steak house, within 5 to 10 minutes from my room. This motel is nothing fancy, but for the price it is more than what you would expect. The week before, I ended up at a motel in the same area, with the same basic services for over twice the money. I will be going to the Horse Cave Motel on my next trip, to the area.

I was expecting carpeting in my room, but the linoleum was just fine.

An older motel, not fancy, but it was exactly what we were looking for. Very clean and quiet. Great staff, very friendly and accommodating. Great little place for the price. We will stay here again!

The beds were a little hard and not quite as comfortable as we had hoped.

Decent place to stay for a night. Clean and everything I needed.

Owner gave me a hard time and asked details about my disability when we travelled with my service dog. Had to produce documentation papers for the service dog so I didn't have to pay for the dog cleaning fee. Too many personal questions.

One might think being big city people this place would be the last place we'd stay... But it was everything you'd think of a motel ; friendly staff that welcome you, and give information- then just friendly hi/ waves till check out. Basic rooms- beds, tv, coffee pot, shower and towels.. The beds were very comfy- probably the best we ve slept in a long time ( husband, 4 year old, dog and me) It being dog friendly is main reason we picked this place. Stores and restaurants nearby.. plenty of attractions ( hidden river cave, KY stone hedge, KY down under, dino world..) To us it was a very sleepy town ( but we wanted that change of pace)

Everyone loves a simple breakfast, but that would just increase costs... A few extra towels since it was more people .. ( but then we never asked)

The staff are friendly rooms were very clean

Being woke up at 8:30a.m to be reminded that check out is at 10 a.m, kinda a ripoff can't check in before 3 with paying extra and being woke up to find out you don't have that hour is kinda ridiculous

perfect location, extremely clean rooms, excellent customer service

my only slight issue was the water pressure in the shower however for the price, location, great price and short stay it wasn’t a problem

Horse Cave is pet friendly and convenient. We stayed there on our way home as a stop over. It is clean and a very good value.

I can't think of anything I did not like.

l liked the location, I liked the friendliness of the staff.

The towels could've been softer. More pillows would've been nice.
